Enoying: Spring

Emerging from spring break and the mind warp that is Daylight Savings to say hello. I swear our entire family is messed up from the time change. Lainey woke up the other morning with “Mom, I didn’t even know where I was or what my name was” and Dash cried for a half hour in the middle of the night last night for, I’m sorry to admit, Mickey Mouse.

We’re in Tampa right now enjoying some family time and soaking up some nice time off.

In the meantime, lately we’ve been enjoying…

Beach cuties.

Weekend Farmer’s Marketing.

…and Nella picking up the slack for Dash’s refusal to push the cart.

“What are you doing, Lainey?”
“Walking my imaginary dog.”
Of course you are. Of course you are.

…and finding yet another good reason to steal paint color samples.

Catching Lainey writing–lots of twists and turns and reader involvement:”Turn to page 17 to see what happens.” “Turn back to page 4 and follow the directions to keep going.” “Turn to page 15 and take the quiz to finish the story.” One story takes one notebook.

Family.
Spring brings an influx of visiting family. My niece has been with us all week, and it’s been heaven watching cousin love.

Spring Grocery List.
We freshen up three things every spring: new sidewalk chalk, new bubbles, new Saltwater sandals. Pretty much set until September now.

  3. What magnificent photographs! Someone is BRILLIANT with sidewalk chalk!!
Also that top bunk prob. How do you even?? I’d love to learn.

  4. I want to try the pastels as sidewalk chalk this summer. Buuuuuuuut…….level with me…how hard is it really to get off driveways? Is my husband going to cry every time he walks outside because my drawings are still there in October?

  5. We always painted eggs at Easter when I was growing up, but I’ve never seen such beautiful painting on an egg before, you are an artist!!

  6. Margaret says:

For you top bunk problem …. I immediately thought “ah same here” and we invested in Beddy’s —http://beddys.com/ — life saver!! 17% off today for St. patty’s day!! I see another comment above pointed you there also. I second Beddy’s they are amazing and my daughter loves to be ‘tucked in and zipped up’ in her Beddy!!

  11. Love. I’m counting down to beach days and perfect light.

  12. We’ve finally been enjoying spring here too. It was warm enough to enjoy strolling around the city in a light jacket, I even noticed that my cheeks were a bit sun kissed that evening. I cannot wait for bubble, and sidewalk chalk, or especially sandals! Oh how my toes are begging for freedom!!

  13. Nella dances just like her mama!! :-) (I just scrolled past this post when I finished it, and there you are at the top of the next one ~ looking very much like your baby girl :-)
Enjoy the rest of your spring break!

  17. The string with no dog on it kills me haha

  18. Why is Dash shown like, once? Not even a central focus in any of these pictures. Was he at poppas, for the billionth time? Its so saddening how often he gets left out. Poor Dash.

    • Hey C! Thanks for taking the time out of your–I’m sure–very busy and fulfilling life to study the bit of ourselves we share and make a fake e-mail to leave this comment! How cool you care about our family and our Dashy so much! While he doesn’t have time to study blogs and calculate patterns, he does have time to do a lot of 3-year old explorin’! And isn’t he the luckiest to be the grandkid whose toddlerhood lines up perfectly with a poppa’s retirement?! The Best. Lucky boy to be that loved.

  19. I just bought Big Magic for creative inspiration, and because I saw you were reading it at one point. But I find inspiration and creativity that is unmatched when I read your blog. Creative inspiration at its finest. Thank you.

  20. “Walking my imaginary dog” LOVE IT!!!

  21. Awesome content you’ve going here.|
