You Asked For It: Be Your Tees…for Bigs!

November 25, 2013 By Kelle

Okay friends. Two months ago, we launched the Be Your Tee campaign with the NDSS hoping to raise $5000 to help promote the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. And you did it. You bought the shirts, you shared the campaign with your friends, you exceeded our goal times three. The first Be Your Tee campaign raised $16,064.52 for the National Down Syndrome Society. That means you bought 2,029 shirts. That’s 2,029 little loves out there reminding people to believe in them and show them how to succeed.

And then you asked for more shirts.  For big kids.  For me and you.

So we did it.

Introducing the second Be Your Tee campaign, spreading the universal message of acceptance and dreaming big and trailblazing a bright path to the future…for everyone.

Be the Dreamer tees are available in youth and adult sizes (women’s and men’s), in crew neck and V-neck, in short sleeve and long sleeve, in a variety of colors…but only for two weeks–in time for holiday gifts.

More than $5 of the sale of every t-shirt goes directly to the NDSS and the rest of the cost goes to Teespring who produces and ships these shirts and makes it possible to easily crowd fund.  (I don’t make anything on these…but I love seeing you wear them!)

Our campaign ends December 9th, so you only have two weeks to order.  All shirts are printed after the day the campaign ends and will be shipped that week.  You will receive shirts before Christmas.
Can you order internationally?  Yep.  International shipping rates will be applied, and add on a few extra days for arrival.

Note:  Women’s and girls’ sizes are fitted.  They’re beautiful, but if you prefer a shirt that is not a snug fit, order a size up (I love the way the large women shirt fits me–more of a relaxed fit).  These are not available in onesies or baby sizes, but Nella rocked a kids small today with lace leggings, and it fit like a cute dress.

Don’t just be change.  WEAR change.  So people can ask you about your shirt and you can tell them what it means to you.  So your kids can wear their shirts and you can tell them why.

And thank you so much.  Thank you Dreamers and Trailblazers for supporting and sharing this message.  It’s for all of our kids.

You can buy a shirt here.  And spread the love by sharing this campaign with a friend.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Special thanks to all my models. You’re beautiful. You know that, right? You’re beautiful.

LOVE that they come in adult sizes now…but I only see one shirt offered in a color other than white. Where do you get the purple shirt shown in one of the pictures in your blog post??

@vjack. Colors should be available on site in a few minutes. Little glitch, but they’re on it like it’s hot!

I want to start by saying just how amazing I think you are. You are a strong and inspirational mother! Reading your blog gave me the courage to share my story after my son’s birth. I recently wrote a post called “be the change” and would love for you to read it. It made me smile to see the new shirts with that same saying. Thank you so much for all that you do in raising awareness and acceptance for our wonderful children. I hope to one day have just as big an impact on others. Kelle: Do you know how accurate the sizing chart is? Only 22″ chest for a 2xl doesn’t sound right. Can you help clarify?

Is there going to be a reprint of the baby/toddler/youth sizes tee at some point? My boy is already outgrowing his 2T. 🙁

Love these and definitely plan to buy!! Are youth sizes more for children or teens? Is there any way you could include a quick size guide for children? Sorry and thanks!! Love the shirts and want to buy for my boys for Christmas.

I have tried to order shirts several times over the past couple of days and the site is not letting me check out. Will keep trying, but thought I would mention it in case I’m not the only one. Love these shirts, Kelle–thank you!! My Emily who has DS and her older sister Natalie wear their little shirts from the last campaign all the time and they are so cool. Thank you for bringing your beautiful creativity to this! 🙂 Also, just gave away a couple of copies of Bloom recently–love having that book to share with people.

These are awesome! I hope the goal is reached, I ordered one and posted the tshirt link on my fb and have had several responses. Do you think you’ll do another one for kids? I missed the first one and I would have loved to order for all the kids in my family. My four-year-old niece was diagnosed at birth and I’m continually trying to learn more and help my family gain awareness. These shirts are an awesome way to start conversation and raise money. Love.

Love this shirt design. Ordered 2, one for each of my daughters. Please repost the shirts on your blog again this week. Since you posted right before thanksgiving I wonder how many people saw it. I would hate for the shirts not to be made. Thanks!

I really would like to order the women’s long sleeve shirt I see in white in some of your photos, but I don’t see it as an option when I go to buy the shirts. Is it no longer an option? Thanks!
