i’ll take ‘be gone, fay!’ for $100, Alex

August 20, 2008 By Kelle

we survived mean ‘ol fay who actually didn’t turn out to be too mean at all. we took lainey down to the beach last night because daddy wanted to document her first tropical storm. she was quite amused by the whole gale-force wind thing…

and later, leaving target, we looked up and saw the most beautiful naples sunset in the history of mankind…and that’s coming from a parking lot! shoulda stayed on the beach for it!

…and today, we’re back to plain ‘ol regular life…boys are back to school and we are accepting the new routines that are inevitable.

in summation of the past few days: she’s been a major daddy’s girl lately and is growing a bit more attached to both her pacifier and her blankie. i tend not to worry about those things much, but don’t want a three-year-old who can’t give it up either. so, i’m stewin’ on how to avoid it without doing the whole ‘obsess-about-silly-things-the-books-say’ thing that i hate so much too.

oh, and did someone say ruby slippers? ah yes…there really is no place like home.

…enjoying the aftermath-of-the-storm things. ~k

That is by far the most beautiful sunset. I wanted to take AJ to the beach Tue. but the police wouldn’t let us on. Bummer! Glad everyone is ok and made it through the storm. You inspired me to make muffins the other day. The smell of blueberries filled the house….for about 10 minutes until the smell of burnt blueberries took over. No Betty Crocker here! Miss you and Lainey!

That “face in the window” picture is adorable. Just my input on the paci/blankie thing…simple pleasures aren’t worth fighting!! Paige had a paci until 3.5 years (at bedtime), when she asked to give it away. She still has a doggie that is her security, but knows when it is appropriate. They are only young once!!
