People ask me all the time, “What’s a normal day for you?” And I usually stumble for lack of better words and utter something lame about playing with baby, running errands or doing laundry. Of course, the “doing laundry” part is a big lie. But seriously…it’s a hard question to answer when asked unexpectedly. So, given some time…I shall answer.
What’s a normal day for me? First of all, it’s never normal. Unless of course you call the unearthly-magic-of-being-so-in-love-with-a-miraculous-piece-of-heaven-and-watching-that beautiful-bit-of-ethereal-life-grow-before-your-very-eyes normal. Now that that’s out of the way…what do we do? We honestly, truly bask in happiness every day. And sometimes I feel guilty saying that–like I have to defend myself against those that might challenge me that we live in a cloud or that reality isn’t that blissful. But it so is…when you make it. In my life long search for my own mantra, I have finally landed on it…”Life is What You Make It”. And I choose to make it wonderful by enjoying the small things every single day. We are in the midst of major transition in our home with Brett’s new job, we don’t know what tomorrow holds, we don’t agree on every single issue, and we certainly have “those days.” But, in the end…as each day we are blessed with closes, we smile. We do things that make us happy, we look on the bright side, and we thank God that we have everything we could ever want…love, love, and more love.
We turn ordinary into extraordinary…who knew a little pink inner tube could create so much fun?! It became our little front yard playground today…
We Live & Love… pulled right from Cubby’s sweatshirt!
We take time to play…We make everyday colorful…
We stop and remember to be thankful (me…for my cute little Babies in this picture!)
And we learn new things every day…
And, that’s our “normal” day!Until next time…G’Nite!

Love the outfit, love the pink inner tube, love the smiles, love the love…you are so blessed. I know you are in the midst of change–and change helps us cling to changeless values and lasting virtues like family and affection and fun in the front yard. Hey…make your day and everyday Disneyworld. I love you, hold you in my heart and pray for you all through these changes. Brett, of all the men in all the world, You would be my choice for my daughter…and my grandaughter…and my precious grandsons as well!!! I love you all.

oh dear kelle, you need the “One Step Ahead” knee pads and padded helmet for Lainey. Look at her crawling on the cement! That has scrapes to the knee and potential head injury written all over it!
Seriously, she looks too adorable in her “get up” today. The hot pink socks and bow make it not too tomboy, perfect accent!

oh my word…look at my last post!! not entirely similar, but still. it’s all about an ordinary day!
weird! kind of like emma and the scissors!

That is so true, that life is what you make it!

oh hey, I wondering if you’d heard the song “in my daughter’s eyes” by martina mcbride. I figured you probably had and either didnt dig the country music or thought it too cliche to add to your list, but its really pretty. I dont know if your friend kelly has heard it but it seems appropriate for her too. well, once she has her little girl. 🙂
Kelle says
Yes! It was on my CD in the birth room…wasn’t her birth song, but listened to it after she was born, and yes, it’s on Kelly’s CD too. I’ve heard it too many times now…I had to retire it for awhile. If I hear Lainey’s birth song, I turn it off as quickly as I can because I don’t ever want to overhear it and grow numb to its effects on me! I save it for her birthday and times when I just want to sit quietly and remember that beautiful day….aaaah.
Tisha says
what is Lainey’s birth song? I was planning on making one for Jonah but i never found the time. However I did sing rejoice in the lord over and over again during labor so maybe thats his birth song. when the contractions would worse i would get louder.
I’ve decided that dessert from the full helping of Lainey is the pic just above her crawling action shot. I think she turned to look at mommy cuz she momentarily missed her THAT much. She was making sure you were following.
emma says
oh my god I forgot all about that sweatshirt!!! It looks cuter on her than I had imagined!!! Go Lainey!
