If Life were a movie, today would be one of those parts you rewind over and over ‘cuz it’s really, really good. Like Tom Hanks-finding-Meg Ryan-at-the-top-of-the-Empire-State-Building kind of good.
Isle of Capri Sunday…just like we used to, and I found myself pinching myself today again thinking–amazingly still after living here for 5 years–“I live here. “
Blue sky and cotton candy clouds. Really cold beer, live reggae music, bare sandy baby feet, sunshine that never ends, and one of those moments I find myself having more and more frequently where I stop. …and think…”This? This is happiness.”
Somewhere between the boys digging a hole so deep in the sand I could sit in it and not see over and the dred-locked Rastafarian singing one of my favorites–“Could You Be Loved,” I realized just how lucky we are to enjoy this kind of Sunday. Oh, and Lainey tasted her first grouper finger…and loved it!
And…is there anything more magical than watching a Daddy who loves his cubby-girl?
P.S. When we were taking pictures on the dock, we were facing the restaurant full of tourists. Lainey was hamming it up good …laughing, waving, smiling. A man came out of the restaurant, walked over to me and said, “I was having a really, really good day. But, this? (pointing at Lainey) This made it even better.” Awwww. I like dat man. Well said, my friend. Well said.

And, from a little earlier today…

…and a bikini! She looks so very cute…and I think I see the sun protecting hat her Poppa sent her…what a wonderful day. I think I hear the echoes, even from five years ago, of a wise, sage father saying…”Kelle, you should move to Naples…teach there…define yourself and develop your own circle of friends.” He was right, and I am proud of you!
hooray…I’ve been waiting for pics of your wonderful day. I needed these :o). My favorite is her on the dock. She looks blissfully happy.
one last thing…
I loved dred-locked rastafarian.
So I’m happy you had such an awesome day… but I must admit to being soo jealous! We had a heat wave here, I think it got up for 40.
The pic of her and Brett looks like an ad for living in Florida. “Your life could be sunny Everyday in Florida!”
WOW! I wish we were there!! What a magical day! Wish you could put days like that in a bottle!! xoxo
Ugh, I was all excited because we are having a “heat wave” 48! Now I find out its going to snow later today. I am going to look at your beach pictures and pretend that I am there now.
Your Poppa may see a sun hat, but MY little eye spies a certain swimming costume (say it in british) that we used in the “hottub” at a hotel in Chicago… yes, the same swimsuit in which I was standing when the elevator doors opened to the LOBBY. =)
Oh, I LOVE IT!! I want to live in Florida. We are expecting 4 more inches of snow tonight. YUCK!
PRICELESS!!! No other way to describe a day like that…the sun, the family, the peace, the warmth…PRICELSS!!!!
