On the Boardwalk

March 6, 2008 By Kelle

Morning naps have been a bit of a challenge lately, so I try my best to tire her out. Today, I thought we’d do something completely enjoyable…we drove over to my dad’s condo where they have the most beautiful boardwalk that goes for miles. It’s so peaceful and serene, and there’s actually a stretch that feels like you’re in the middle of the Serengeti. At the end, the boardwalk stretches out into the bay where you can sit and sometimes see manatees. I was so happy I did it…forces me to really appreciate nature more and I like her to grow up with those kinds of experiences. She loved it too, smiling at all the old people that stopped to talk to her, singing back to the many birds we heard and yes, eventually falling asleep towards the end of the walk. Check out how she fell asleep–she couldn’t hold the weight of her head anymore so it just fell forward into a cute little heap at the front of her stroller!

What a precious pile of punky! I wanted to cradle her in my arms and carry her to a comfy hammock and take a long nap with her and smell her sweet babie’s breath and feel the warmth of her soft skin…ok, maybe I took it a little too far, it was starting to sound like some tawdry romance novel and that just made something nice seem really, really creepy. But I do love her so!
