serendipity

July 21, 2008 By Kelle

here’s the cool thing about getting married: you get a husband…and by default, you get a whole ‘nother family. and while, to some that is unfortunate baggage, for me it’s a rather serendipitous inheritance for not only does the hampton family tree bear some pretty cool branches, but these branches all love my little twig. there’s nothing like knowing these extentions of family–grandpas, grandmas, aunts, cousins, etc.–love lainey somewhere within the same realm i love her…family.

lainey and i just returned from rockford, illinois where we spent four blessedly relaxing days with brett’s family, and our little sponges are soaked with perfectly wonderful memories…
i for once got to read, in one sitting, more than five pages of the book i can’t seem to finish. i relaxed. …and i blissfully watched as grandpa brian, donna nana, grandma colleen, aunt trish, aunt amy, great grandma betty, and little cousins loved on our cubby bear. and she drank it in…all of it.
tonight, we’re happy, we’re blessed, and we’re smiling from our sweet memories.

I love, love, LOVE pictures with babies and Grandparents. Two vastly different generations, but they are bound together with family ties. Lainey looks so happy and content.

The one with Grandpa feeding her in his sock feet really got to me. Wow, awesome moment. 🙂

    Gald you are home!!

I feel the same way about my inherited fam. I feel so fortunate when hearing awful stories about friends and insane ma in laws….anyway, that tree metaphor rocks.

I missed your posts! Your photo album is to die for! Lainey looks older to me!

    Glad you’re back online.
