love. that’s it…just love…and nothin’ else.

October 11, 2008 By Kelle

about the time that this smile…

stretched into an even bigger smile…

…i was done. over. heart burst. defib.

…and then she had to take it a step further (topper!)… she climbed into her rocking chair and mommied her doll…on her own.

held her…

kissed her…

fed her…

…all completely unprompted.

…and then she had to go and do it. that cock-her-head-to-the-side thing that gets me.

…and i was like…c’mon…are you trying to make me cry? because sometimes that’s all i can do watching her grow up before my eyes. and i swear…after the little tear and my smile and taking this picture…she leaned over and kissed my lips. no words…just quiet love in a little pink room…me and her.

speakin’ of kisses… oh, the kisses. numerous these days. smack on the lips.

she is the poster child of love. lainey love. i knew we chose that name for a reason!

these days, i can’t not just write and write and write about the love. seventeen months is so my favorite.

…enjoying the her things. ~k

I would not wish less for any child than to have their parent in awe of their beauty, impressed with their intelligence and moved to tears by their affection. I pray every child has it, and am broken-hearted when I sadly realize this is not true…so when God brings a child within a heartreach, I hope to make them feel special, if but for that moment. Well done, Momma, Well done.

You know why she is so good at being a mommy to her doll don’t ya? Cuz she’s got YOU as a role model. She’s doing to her dolly, what you do to her. How cool is that?

She is so stinking adorable! Could her outfit be any cuter? I can see why you are loving this age, but I’m pretty sure you say this about every month! You remind me of me with my kids that’s what I would say as each month went by. I love how you cherish every moment!

OK, does Lainey love to wear her Ugh boots? They look pretty adorable on her. I know you are nurturing a shoe-fetish woman here, so I wondered if she seems to have preferences yet…is she understanding which go with which outfits–Oh, I pray she does! This is critical!

Bug just started kissing. I just about collapse when she does it. Not to Andy or me yet…only to her little girlfriends.

And, yes, I second the *adorable* outfit.

Those pictures of her with her doll are so cute! Haha, it’s funny that you say 17 months is your favorite because I think you’ve said that about every age Lainey’s ever been 🙂
