painted pumpkins for $400, alex

October 5, 2008 By Kelle

last year at this time:

this year, baby took artistic talent into her own hands and painted her first pumpkin masterpiece…sure to become a halloween tradition until her coordination grants her the ability to hold a pumpkin cutter…

…and under the table, latte kept watch.

can’t believe she stayed still enough for me to paint this on her cheek.

enjoyed a wonderfully loungey weekend where we did loungey things like sit in the driveway, watching lainey play outside and stay in our jammies too long.

p.s. our little sugar-and-spice likes to play in the dirt now.

…enjoying the family things. ~k

The fourth picture down is GREAT because of her expression. She is concentrating so much. I just love her eyes.

And the Helen Keller comment was HYSTERICAL!! That made me laugh out loud!

Can you be my mommy too? I love how you are all wearing white, but are so clean. JB would be covered in paint and so would I from spilling the paint pot.

hahaha, the helen keller pic is hilarious.

seriously love the brett and ll pic, with paint on brett’s nose.

Oh my word I can’t believe how much she’s grown up in only a year! Hahaha, the Helen Keller pic is priceless, especially because Lainey’s looking right at the camera. hahaha, Carin, is that (w-w-w-water) from “The Miracle Worker”?? Oh I also loved the pic of Latte under the little table 🙂

    LAUGHING…SO…HARD.

    The Helen Keller picture. OMG.

I expected the next picture to be one of you “feeling” Lainey’s face…rubbing painbrushes all over the place…mouthing the pumpkin…

    L

    O

    friggin’ L.

And after I stop laughing, let me just say this…

I love, love, LOVE how you give her the freedom to create, no boundaries, and just BE.

No goal of a certain finshed product…no worries about how messy it gets…

The only goal is that she is CREATING.

    What a GIFT, Kelle.

    You are an INCREDIBLE MOTHER!!!!

So, although this was posted almost four years ago, I wanted to post about how adoreable Lainey was for her 2nd Halloween. I also laughed SO HARD about the Helen Keller comment in that one picture! You are such a witty, amazing woman!
