two year molars and diaper taping

March 13, 2009 By Kelle

it’s been a fast-paced crazy week.

and i feel like i’m so behind in all that i have to do…

…but that thought is not as overwhelming as it used to be when i know i am behind by choice because i choose reading books. and playing ‘go fishin. and rockin’ baby dolls and goin’ to bed early with a tired little binks. and i will get caught up…because i always do.

and while i’m treading water in the work pile, i’m also chasing and re-diapering a gets-naked-in-two-seconds-flat baby…about fifteen times a day.

we tried packaging tape today but miss houdini pulled it off in no time.

and so it is…naked never hurt anybody.

this post won’t be long as i’m so ready for bed after being up three hours last night with her…thrashing and whining…and it finally dawned on me after three hours, a little dose of tylenol and a morning google search that yes, there is such a thing as two year molars.

it is warm these days. and very, very sunny happy. with breezes and barbecue scents and evening bikerides. and i’m happy to live in a neighborhood on these kinds of days. even though i often dream of a big old farmhouse in the country…or a city brownstone…or a seaside escape. our little neighborhood house makes me happy too. with its clean sidewalks and familiar faces and quaint green street signs. it’s friendly. and friendly is a great place for a kid to grow up.

(ahhh…our little linus and her beloved blank)

…enjoying the that’s-all-for-now things. ~k

Wow. Could it be that I am the first one to be reading yet another wonderful post of yours? Yipee!

She’s growing bigger almost by the minute Kelle. She’s just looking like a girl these days. She’s glorious. Her eyes tell such a story.

    Great pictures as always!

I am a bit of a worried and tend to think about the worst possible scenarios whenever my husband is coming late home from work, or my parents did not call when they say they would, etc. And I started to get a bit worried about you now – since I have not seen an update in a few days and you are so diligent about posting. Glad to hear that the lack of posts is due to you just being behind:)

i tell you it was the full moon that did us in this week. avi was teething, too, and it’s been awhile so of course it didn’t occur to me that he was teething–wish I’d thought of tylenol! daddy came in after an hour of me rocking and nursing and got him to sleep in 15 minutes. so then i couldn’t sleep. ha! here’s to a restful weekend. lainey is so beautiful! i love the close up of her with little crumbs on her mouth, her flaxen hair moving out of the frame and her giant eyes laughing.

Awwww, I remember the two yr molars with both of mine…my dear husband sitting with my daughter in the recliner in the middle of the night with a popsicle(the kind in the clear wrapper, with a paper towel wrapped around) when she normally never woke at night. Love your blog!!

I can relate to the feelings of being overwhelmed…

it seems it never ends, but at the end of the day…

after you have given every bit of your energy into making it a “good day”…

you can rest your head on your pillow in peace, knowing you gave her your all.

And two last words for ya…

    DUCT…

    TAPE.

    Love you
    xoxo

ahhhh, baby Michael was that age in South Florida and most days he was just naked. But…I found that potty training was way easier that way. I’d open the door to let the dogs out, he’d go out too, squat and squirt in the grass, and come back in. Ahhh, housetraining for toddlers, shoulda wrote a book.

Love this post and the next one! Ice cream makes me happyyy!
