Enjoying

July 12, 2013 By Kelle

Crossing off our summer bucket list, and we’re a little behind.

We did cross off hitting the bowling alley this week where little girls jumped and cheered for single pin victories.  Two turns and nine pins still standing?  Didn’t matter.  That one pin that fell was still pretty awesome.  Better than a gutter ball.  So high five, man.  Victory dance.

Also, to the bucket list I have added and have already crossed off “Leave Dash in nothing but a diaper.  All.  Day.  Long.”

 photo dash2_zpsb386590c.jpg

This boy and his cue ball head and his milky skin and his drooly smile and the way he sucks in air to make these precious little squawks–yes, that.  All of it.  His shirtless state increases the surface area for kisses.

And also, that blur in the background of the above picture?  It’s a box of Saltines.  Needless to say, I have some sheets to change.  And yet I knew that when I let her climb the bed, crackers in hand.  Sometimes in motherhood, you willingly accept the extra work.  Or the salty grit that makes its way to the sheets.

Some good stuff for any interested mama:

This week Infantino and Step 2 announced their casting call for this year’s Everybody Plays campaign. I’m so excited to be part of the campaign again this year and look forward to heading back out to San Diego in September. Everybody Plays recognizes the unique faces, smiles and styles of babies everywhere and celebrates and promotes acceptance by showing every child is beautiful. They are looking for babies ages 3 months to five years old for their casting call, and this year one family will win the grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to San Diego to participate in Everybody Plays. Read more about this opportunity on Infantino’s Facebook page.  There’s so much love at this event–I’m counting down the days.

Love Dash’s little cue ball head & his sly little grins. He is one cutie. Looking forward to more summer pics of the girl’s chalk drawings in the driveway, beach outings & picnics in the woods.

Ah sweet Jesus cheesecake, that’s a box of saltine crackers and a side of comments gone mental, ah well, hope to doesn’t cramp your Friday style.

And re crackers- I still remember our close friends who let us eat cereal bars in the parents bed in the morning fatter a sleepover , thought it was SUCH a special treat, didn’t realise they were sacrificing mess for more of a lie in. Happy weekend 🙂

Love. And what is it with bowling shoes? Has to be right up there as one of the grossest things on the planet, and yet on a child, one of the cutest things ever. Happy weekend to you! xo

    Dear Kelle,

I love the physics of baby kissing as you’ve described it: “His shirtless state increases the surface area for kisses”!!

Happy Baby Number 5 in the household is going to grow up extremely well kissed; is there anything more we could wish a Tiny Man than that?

Wishing you always all good things,
    Ali in Switzerland

I just finished “Bloom” and I can’t even out into words how much I enjoyed it. I couldn’t put it down and managed to finish it in 2 days, which is no easy feat with 3 kiddos under the age of 5. 🙂 Thank-you so much for such an inspiring story. I’m looking forward to flowing your blog, hearing your stories, and seeing pictures of your 3 beautiful children, especially Nella.

We used to go bowling with our Home School group!! Much older than Lainey, I remember enjoying it…. But not for strikes or the scoreboard!! I simply had fun, and never took it too seriously!! 😉
Lainey’s bowling ball looks like a round watermelon!! Hee, hee, hee…. ;-D
Ew, stomach illnesses are the worst!! Let’s hope that she is feeling better!! 😉

Hiya! Yay for bowling! I remember a summer bowling camp from long ago… I think I might have been ok then? I was actually writing to ask a question: how to you like the amber necklace for Dash? I’ve been pondering one for my wee one, and wanted your opinion. Have a good rest of the weekend!

We also crossed the bowling alley off of our summer bucket list this weekend, as the kids attended a birthday party. I, too, couldn’t help but smile watching the squeals and giddiness of one pin knock downs. But, my 7 year old daughter did get a strike (thank God for bumpers) and that was equally as awesome.

I used to hate going bowling! Back in my day the shoe size was printed in large letters so everyone could see how big your feet were…so embarrassing…size 10 here! Looks like the kids had a fabulous time. Where’s Poppa? I always follow his IG feed but it disappeared!

While my little man didn’t win grand prize, he will be at the shoot. Apollo was born with a double aortic arch and in 2012 had two heart surgeries and a g-tube placed. He is now three and we are counting the days until the shoot!
