A Book for the Baby: MyPublisher

January 27, 2015 By Kelle

This post is sponsored by MyPublisher, giving the baby of our family a fighting chance in the baby book competition.

One birthday down and another around the bend with our Valentine baby’s second year celebration coming up. For Lainey, a two year celebration meant sixteen albums of printed photos, three scrapbooks and a fully-detailed tooth chart on the shelf. I was also a first time parent who boiled pacifiers when they fell on the floor and organized the baby clothes drawers every three weeks. Let’s just say, sadly for Dash, I’m a little behind.

I believe in photo memories though–and not just ones that sit in folders on our computer or fill a feed on social media. I love walking through homes that are dripping with photo stories–albums sitting on coffee tables, memories framed on walls, polaroids taped to the refrigerator. It says These Are the People We Love. It says That Vacation Was Unforgettable. It says I Love Being Your Mama. I believe in making efforts to preserve these memories maybe a little more passionately for Dash because I know his printed memories take the slack for a busier family/more kids/less time.

This year, thanks to MyPublisher, I was able to easily combine all of our favorite moments from Dash’s second year into this stunning photo book. I’ve looked through it maybe twenty times already since it arrived.

I miss this baby.

My favorite thing about MyPublisher is that it offers users so many ways to customize their book. Their program is incredibly user-friendly. You upload your images, choose page layouts and drag and drop your photos where you want them. While MyPublisher offers many options for adding text, I chose a simple “just photos” layout and love the simple yet powerful result. I used several 1-photo/full bleed layouts as well as some white framing, giving the entire book a professional cohesive look. And the best part? I finished and ordered the entire book in less than an hour (hint: compile all of your photos into one folder first).

 photo my publisher 15_zpsapxdw1fi.jpg

Unlike many competitors, MyPublisher prints, manufactures and ships every product it sells–with no out-sourcing–and believes that controlling its printing and manufacturing enables it to deliver consistently superior quality and service.

Page thickness, paper quality, color vibrancy–it’s all so beautiful and has withstood lots of tiny investigating hands.

 photo my publisher 22_zpstsw6o8cf.jpg

I also wanted a book bound with lay-flat pages and love that MyPublisher offers that option.

 photo my publisher 21_zpsxk1plgip.jpg

They also offer several options for covers and cases. We chose a foldover paper jacket.

MyPublisher stands behind the quality of their work and guarantees every product against any defects in manufacturing, one hundred percent.

Have a baby of the family who needs some memory love? MyPublisher is giving away a $250 photo book credit to one reader. Check out MyPublisher’s site, poke around for some inspiration and then leave a comment sharing what you’d like to turn into a book. Your daughter’s first year? That last amazing vacation you took? Childhood memories for a surprise anniversary gift for your parents? Or maybe just your favorite motherhood moments thus far on your journey–so that at the end of the hardest days, you can pour some hot tea and find a quiet place to sit down with a book of your most beautiful moments. The gift of perspective.

 a Rafflecopter giveaway.

And for those who don’t win, readers will receive 50% off MyPublisher orders over $100.00 and 25% off orders over $50.00 when you create your books here.

Our new book has already been in the hands of all the kids. I’ve found Lainey and Nella pointing to favorite photos of their brother, cracking up over how little and funny and cute he is; and I love reminiscing over all of those stories with Dash in my lap. Look at you! You are so loved.

He might keep us on our toes, but at least those crazy moments are preserved in a beautiful way–this gorgeous book that now sits on our coffee table. Because nobody puts Baby in a corner.

Love, Love, Love MyPublisher! My latest creation should arrive in the mail today and I can’t wait. Its of our family trip to Alaska in 2011. It did take me some time to finish because of such a busy schedule. I set my goal to finish it this past Christmas. Putting it together was like being on an awesome vacation all over again.

MyPublisher has excellent quality and great service. The program is supper easy to use. Highly recommended!

This is so perfect for my project. I’ve been taking pictures of windows and doors as I’ve traveled for the past several years. I had no idea that what I was doing was actually therapeutic until I looked back and saw the theme I had consciously shot! Now, I’d like to put them in a book so I can have a reminder of how much healing I’ve done, how many doors I’ve walked through and that I’m not living life watching through a window….I’m truly living!

We recently found out out second daughter will be born with Down syndrome (This led me to your blog and wonderful book, Bloom). Admittedly, I am scared as hell, but we are so excited to meet her, especially her soon-to-be big sister. A photo book would be a great way to document this change in our lives. I hope to be looking through it, one year from now, with a greater perspective and appreciation for this journey.

When I was pregnant with my son I bought an adorable scrapbook & all sorts of cute stickers & ribbons to really personalize the memories. During my maternity leave I think I filled about 3 pages with photos of his first few months. My goal was to put in 2-5 pages per year and have at least until age 5 captured in photos – if not more. (The scrapbook had room for extra pages and I bought a lot!)

He is now almost 3 and I have not filled any more pages – and only have a few printed photos. I work full time and there seems to be less time every year. And now I am pregnant with baby #2!! Seems I really should complete at least one photo book for my son before life becomes even more hectic!

I’d love to make a book documenting all the memorable moments of the past five years. My family has been through a lot since my now five year old twins were born – their very premature births, a long and complicated hospitalization, diagnoses of Cerebral Palsy for both of them, and cancer for me. Over that time my family, but especially my daughter and her brothers, have matured and strengthened beyond my wildest dreams. Now the boys are in school and I am back to work and a new chapter begins – but I’d love the commemorate the previous chapter!

We have a bazillion slides (SLIDES) from the year we lived in Nepal. At the end of our time, we adopted our daughter, who is now in college (COLLEGE!!). Last summer, we went back with her to show her the village where she was born and we met her biological brother, who is amazing. I would like to take the aforementioned ancient relics (slides) and turn them into a book for her.

I would like to make a book for each month of her first year. I am writing her letters that I would love to include typed out in the books. I know it’s lofty of me, but since it’s my first and likely only, I am hoping I can stick to my plan 🙂 I am certainly going to check out MyPublisher to make my books! I made a small book of a newborn photo session with Shutterfly and it took me about a week! Their design layout was a bit of a hassle.

I’d make some books chronicling each year of my family since my husband and I got married. We have a passel of wonderful children (7!), so it’s too expensive to create a book for each child per year, but I have untold pictures languishing away in electronic form. Last year, I made a cumulative “Book of 2014” for us to keep and to give away. One year of marriage and children down, and only 12 left to go! Saying this photo book credit would come in handy is a huge understatement. 🙂

My grandmother was one of ten children growing up in Hoisington, KS in the early 1900s. Her parents, my great-grandparents, took so many wonderful photographs. I would love to scan them all and make a book of these treasures.

There are years 1 & 2 of the last baby in our family, our bi-annual family vacations from the last 6 years that are still waiting to be put into a book. So many wonderful memories – they only need a suitable home & book to go into 🙂

I would love to just do a “Brothers” photo book of my boys. I have books of my oldest from before my youngest was born (5 years after his big brother) and then a book for my youngest’s first year (he’s now almost 4) and I hate the pressure of doing “annual” books because I never seem to get photos from each month/holiday/milestone that are “good”. SO…I’ve been thinking lately about just doing a “Brothers” book that captures them together as they are now (with some older photos of them thrown in for good measure). I’ve done books through Shutterfly in the past and I see they are affiliated with MyPublisher, but wow…swoooooon, their site is amazing. I am loving the lay flat pages and the dust jacket? I’m such a sucker for paper…it’s the reason I still send lots of snail mail…now if only I could figure out how to make a living on sending random pretty mail to people….

I’d love to make a book of our trip to Colorado in 2013. We went exploring and then attended the National Ds Conference. I still haven’t made a scrapbook of the trip but I do have pics in frames. And photo mugs. 😉 Karen H.

Baby number three has a baby book that is quite sparse – she could use some memory love in the form of a MyPublisher book. Her 2nd birthday is in June.

It would be so fantastic to be the lucky recipient of the $250 photobook credit by MyPublisher! I’d use it to create a book for my youngest child Oscar, born at 31 weeks and with an undiagnosed cleft lip/palate. It would mean so much for me to have a lasting memory in a beautiful bound album – following his progress from when he was born, the stay in NICU, coming home, his corrective surgeries, and now to the wonderful, cheeky little man he is today!

I have 2 empty photo albums that I’ve had in their original boxes stored in my upstairs closet. I had intentions to fill the pages with all of my girls’ baby photos, but the task has proven too daunting. Winning this album would be a dream come true and the end of my girls’ childhood preservation procrastination.

Our daughter Addy was born missing her right hand and forearm. Her birth was traumatic, coupled with the fact that I went through the experience alone with my husband serving in Afghanistan. I would love to be able to document her birth date and all the emotions and stories associated with it, for her to have later in life, so she knows how loved she was from the moment she entered the world!

OK, how cute is Dash? Seriously. What a sweet baby. The book looks awesome. I love that the girls are looking at it and treasuring it as often as they can.

I have so many events that need books. I think the first thing I need to do is make Bria a book. She is feeling unloved lately. Yesterday she asked me why there aren’t pictures of her all over the house like Kaish. Even though my account is hovering under $100, I went to Staples today and make 4 huge prints of her beautiful face to put up. I don’t ever want her to feel unloved.

Thank you for being my counselor!
