I want to get back to doing some fun Friday posts with favorites–home stuff, beauty stuff, crafty stuff, etc. This week, I’m sharing a new favorite shop and some inexpensive gifts for girlfriends.
I used to be really good at giving random gifts to friends, and I’ve fallen out of the habit. But every time a friend makes a small gesture–most recently a bag of healthy food from Heidi and a note reminding me to eat better (stop with the candy!), I’m reminded what little it takes to make someone feel very special. Sometimes having someone else say “you’re worth it” is the catalyst for self love and good actions. Each of these gifts is inexpensive–around $10 or less, and a little bit humorous, but paired with a meaningful note, can be just what it takes to remind a friend that she is strong, loved and fierce.
Be a Better Parent Tea. For friends who are in the trenches of motherhood and feeling inadequate or tired or laden with guilt. Who knew there was a magic tea to make it all better?!
Rosie the Riveter vintage tin sign. A powerful (and cute) reminder that we’re in it together.
Frida Kahlo Socks. Holla to the awesome women who went before us…and left their words and art to make our journey a little easier.

And our favorite new shop this week…
Naples recently got a Paper Source. I walked in the other day and could have sworn I heard angels singing at the entrance. It’s full of all my favorite things–and perhaps the most dangerous place for tiny shit lovers like me. But the paper?! Giant sheets of wrapping paper, sold individually, in unique prints–vintage drawings, maps, funky illustrations, colorful art. At around $3-4 a sheet and big enough to frame, we raked up some new art for the house and found some inspiration for new projects.
I framed a sheet of this vintage alphabet print for some new art above the girls’ dresser….
…and added an old eye chart above Dash’s crib, using a 20×28 (fit perfectly, no cutting) poster frame from Michael’s.

Paper Source is one of my favorite places! It is a dangerous shop to enter- the stamps, papers, and ink pads get me every time. I also love their Rifle Paper phone cases, calendars, and journals. Basically, if I had the funds I would purchase the ENTIRE. STORE. I love all of these little gift ideas! Can’t wait to see more of your Friday posts.

Love love love Cavallini paper! We have a few framed in big ikea frames around our house. They look fab and are such inexpensive prints. Butterflies and insects are my favourites. Do you follow them on IG, kelle?
Lovely ideas but please be careful with the print in reach above Dash’s cot, if the frame is glass it’s dangerous.

Paper Source is my all time favorite store. Before I was married or had kids I used to drive 25 miles to get to one before they opened one close to home. I love how you framed their papers, great ideas.

My friend (3saltydogs) and I were talking about this post the other day over cake. We know all too well the fun and the danger of living within miles of a Paper Source. We are paper junkies and lovers of all sorts of handmade cards and dashing wrapped gifts. So you know, welcome to the club! 🙂

It is so great to remind our friends that they are special to us–and it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. It really is about the thought.
We can apply the same concept for simple reminders to our kids (and our significant other) how special they are to us. Finding creative ways to say “I love you” is a wonderful lesson to teach our kids. The answer can be, but doesn’t have to be a bought gift or card (with or without a crown on the back)…and it can be said with a sense of humor. It matters most that it is said.
