{love today}

March 6, 2009 By Kelle

another beautiful chubs.
i love the chubbers ones.

and i love that this little pint made me work for these pictures. her mama and i chased her, blew bubbles, threw balls, threw sticks, threw grass, made all sorts of embarrassing childish noises, requested the help of the dog, the grown-up kids…and in the end, i’m so happy with our sweet little results. they’re in focus…and that puts a smile on my face after all that movement! sixteen months=sweet exploration.

little bridgit. a precious little tot who loves to move!

…and a little bit of park love from today. an hour before we left for our park playdate, i had a talk with myself. told myself that today was the day we’d have it all together. we’d bring bagels for the moms. we’d have snacks when someone asked for one. we’d neatly tote our sand-digging toys in a cool bag hung on a clean stroller. we’d remember our sunglasses, look nice and arrive completely put-together. with sunscreen and wipes tucked into appropriate easy-access pockets in our park bag.

thing is i don’t have a park bag. so we used a bag we found buried under cracker crumbs in the trunk. and i had to call my friend on my way and ask her to bring juice because i forgot ours and it was hot. and lainey was crying. and i caved and gave her a munchkin from dunkin donuts. or five. and i forgot wipes to clean the powdered sugar on her face after. and i balanced my coffee on the top of the stroller canopy…and it kinda tipped over and spilled. and the sand toys we did bring got spread around the digging grounds so we came home with less than what we started with. and the sack dress i wore that i thought looked cool? later proved to be a strethced out piece of crap.

…but i still brought bagels for the moms. and that’s kinda cool.

and finally, i don’t know that i’ve ever posted a youtube here, but this one is sensational.
this video sums my thoughts on today’s education system beautifully.
seems a proper time being that florida schools are undergoing the fcat right now.
this man sums up profoundly what i feel so passionately about.
ah, creativity.
it’s twenty minutes long but is so worth it. grab a cup of coffee…and enjoy.

love. lots. ~k

Not sure how you capture all this… but it is your gift. And those dazzling gold sandals. Okay… saw a movie listed on “on demand” today and thought of you and your sister. It’s called “Everlasting Moments.” French subtitles – which i hate – but I WILL watch this movie. A beaten down woman in the 1930s or so – gets a camera as a gift, and her new life begins. Sound interesting or what?

ok bridgit…scrumptious! for petes sake i want to eat her up!! i hope my little girl is as chubby and (from the pics) as stubborn as this little beauty!

lol i love the ideals we think make us the perfect mom. i’ve given up on jonah having a clean face. i know all the moms there thought you were the coolest mom because well,
    1. they are your friends and
    2. because you do anything to make your girl happy. that makes you the coolest mom ever.
    3. yankin that huge fancy camera out and doing your photographer magic that you do is So cool! 🙂
sack dress and all i’m sure there were some moms there wishing they were as cool.

    xoxo!

LOVE these pictures of my baby girl! I dragged Todd out of bed last night when I saw you had put them up. As I scrolled down the screen he just laughed and kept saying, “Oh-my-gosh!” You so got her-the serious, inquisitive look is all her! What a fun way to end our week! Thank you!
Oh-and what I really love about the polka dot pants and feet picture is that you can see the little tiny freckle on her hand. So sweet!

Kelle, thanks for the smile. Love your tale of wanting to be the totally put together mom at the park – but ended up foregoing half of it! Totally made me smile, I feel like that is the story of my life! But, I’m pretty sure you were the coolest mom there…

The last picture I LOVE wish my Skye bear was in there and then it would be really perfect. I love the way you edited it! It really should be on the cover of a magazine I am not kidding!
