Fall Favorites for Girls

August 31, 2018 By Kelle

Don’t think I don’t realize that tomorrow is September which you know marks the beginning of my harvest fever. If you’re still enjoying summer and don’t want to hear me gushing about my love for aubergine tights and fall plaids and delicious cable knits (yes, I know we live in Florida, but I don’t want to hear that either), you might want to scoot on out of here to save yourself.

For those who chose to stay…My people! My people! You are my people! I thought I’d go ahead and fall down the rabbit hole of kids fall fashion (girls today, I’ll round up some boys over the weekend). So here you are, a Friday treat. Some delicious fall styles for girls.

1. Mauve Corduroy Jumpsuit ($24.99)
2. Deep Red Dotted Fine Knit Sweater ($17)
3. Floral Blouse ($35.99)
4. Plaid Flannel Button Down (less than $9!)
5. Plaid Backpack ($25.90)
6. Goldenrod Sweatshirt ($12.50)
7. Embroidered Blouse ($29.90)
8. Plaid Skipper Hat ($15.90)
9. Camel Corduroy Pinafore ($18)
10. Retro Plum Sneakers ($26.99 plus 20% 0ff)
11. Plaid Shorts ($29.90) Pair these with brown tights and booties…I can’t even.
12. Black Rain Boots (less than $16!)
13. Rust Corduroy Bell Bottoms (Nella has these, and every time she wears them, I die a little)

Kelle, such cute stuff! But my daughters are in 3rd and 5th grade and would definitely think most of this is too “babyish” or not trendy enough for their tastes. Neither would ever wear overalls and only one will wear dresses. Is Lainey not into cold shoulder, rompers, Converse, Pink, Justice, etc.? Could you possibly do a post with preteen picks that Lainey would wear? My girls are super in to Justice (which is WAY too blingy and sparkly for me, but whatev), some Target and H&M or Old Navy. Unicorn everything, of course. Thanks!

I smiled when I read this because I’m 39 and I’m wearing overalls right now. 🙂

I can see these for a fun family photo shoot or school picks! My girls are 7,9, and 13. I totally get the HM and Justice all day every day!

I was thinking the same thing!! I teach fifth grade in a state that actually experiences a true fall season and my students wouldn’t wear any of these….and I’m pretty sure 1, 8, 9, and 13 would be out for kindergarten unless they were forced by a parent to wear them.

Nella LOVES her bell bottoms and corduroy! But all kids are different, and I love that. I bet your fifth graders look cute in whatever they’re wearing too!

My 16 year old daughter loves the mauve jumpsuit. She’s so tiny, she could probably fit into it :).

How do your kids find rompers and overalls in terms of ease of wear, motion, etc? I know my second grader would struggle with them, especially in the bathroom. My daughter still refuses anything with a button or snap fly, simply because “it slows me down”. I think a lot of these items are cute, but I don’t think are ideal fashion items for the kindergarten-grade three set.

Most of the rompers Nella wears to school are ones she can just pull down from the arms and slip back on with no buttons or snaps.

Everything is super cute. My little niece used to wear bell bottoms, but believe it or not, she got her feet tangled while wearing a pair once, and she fell and broke her nose on a corner. That’s the only thing I can think of now when I see kids in bell bottoms.

Thanks for posting this! I look forward to your fall and holiday posts every year. Every end of August I start checking your blog more frequently to see if you are posting fall stuff yet. Once you do I feel like I can get a start on fall, too. 🙂
