A happy little weekend full of happy little things. After all, it’s October.
Enjoying…
A sleepover at Heidi’s. The night part was slightly tainted by a corneal abrasion I endured from a flying cracker that came at me like a ninja star, but the morning part was heaven. Babies and coffee and pancakes and noisy kids who had the innate sense to pick a room just far enough away from the kitchen that their happy chaos didn’t overpower our coffee talk.
My friend Janita visited from Canada (wildly waving to Canadian readers!) last week. She is lovely. She demonstrated solidarity for my cornea issues with sunglasses for all.
Friday Night Lights. I have new smile lines. As far as focus and following directions, she nailed it.
Sister watched adoringly from behind the fence.
Weekend walks.
Little hands cupped over bottles.
Her flip-flop obsession. She finds them in her sister’s room or in the garage and wears them like a boss. I love it when they’re backwards or wedged between the wrong toes. But she keeps them on just fine. And I smile every time I hear the snap-and-slap of flip-flops making their way across the tile, announcing she’s getting closer.
Finding Fall in Florida. The search often requires creativity.
Baby/Dog Staredowns.
Sunday tea parties.
Man cub explorations.
When he falls asleep in my arms even though his head weighs a hundred pounds.
Watching my kids love life. They do it right.
Time to make stuff, bake stuff and dream stuff. Happy Monday.
Did anyone see this high school’s video this morning on GMA? It’s awesome. The girl featured in it is now a 4-yr. varsity cheerleader.

Absolutely beautiful, Kelle. I love your photos and your weekend. ๐ Have a wonderful week, mama!
Kelle, I just read this post and loved everything. Although it was simple, the photos are beautiful. I can’t believe how grown up Nella is looking, such a pretty girl. And Lainey, well I love the mini cheerleader that is happening. Dash has grown so much, it seems like he was only just born yesterday! Time has gone by so quickly. Xx
beautiful beautiful, you your family and your continued inspirational stories….
That picture of you and Dash on the couch in your nightgowns is my favorite! Very vintage looking.
Kelle….
I have decided that I love, love, love the month of October!! Rainy, windy weather. Pumpkins. Leaves changing color as though God Himself painted them. Halloween. Chocolate candy. {I am an addict!!} Breast Cancer Awareness Month. {We have this dear friend….} National Adopt A Dog Month. Down Syndrome Awareness Month…. ๐
You are such a gifted writer!! And photographer!! ;-D

I love the picture of Dash falling asleep in your arms… by far one of the things I enjoy most about mamahood. Feeling the weight of their body and seeing the weight of their eyelids grow heavier and heavier. And just being able to enjoy them while they’re sitting still for a minute. Great post. Beautiful pictures as always. Thanks for starting my day off right!
Beautiful post. I loved scrolling through the snippets of life- they’re such a reminder to me to slow down and savor that which is often so fleeting. And let me just say, you’ve got lovely arms. Have a wonderful week! =)
Beautiful pictures of the weekend, and you’re right kids know how to do it right. ๐

I think Nella is the best-dressed kid out there. I would love to know where you shop for her!
“They do it right”.
So much joy, learning from them.

I love October too, so I loved this post. The photo of Dash “driving” his car – I LOVE the expression on his little face! And the one of you tossing Nella around at the pumpkin patch – welcome to the gun show! Your arms look awesome (as does the rest of you)! Have a great week. XO, Matthew’s mama
Love how peaceful you look with Dash in your arms! What sweet moments.

Nella and the pumpkin with the tongue is awesome.
It’s pouring here. I’m gonna go cook something with pumpkin.
You know Kelle, I always read your posts with a bit of anxiety backstage when I watch the scroll: I never want them to end.
There is so much joy and love in here! you and your family are so lucky to have each other.
I am so lucky to read you.
Thank you!
I love your first October weekend. It sounds perfect. Well, perfect minus the cornea accident : ).
I was at the I heart faces conference over the weekend and I must have told Drew and Angie 100 times that I wished you were there.
I also met Heather. I hear she is one of your friends. I LOVE HER! I want to adopt her. : ) Maybe you can come next year again.
I told Heather how I send you long annoying comments all the time and I am sure you think I am a stalker but she said she can vouch for my normalcy if you ever need a voucher ; ).
Happy Monday. I know you will find Fall. Love, Becky
your little man is adorable! i love seeing him in my instagram feed ๐
Your kiddos are absolutely beautiful! And they are blessed to have you as their mama. ๐ Happy Fall!

Way to go Lainey!! Those new smile lines on you Kelle were probably seen across that big football field, big and proud!!
And Nella…Nella I LOVE your energy, your vibrant spirit, your love for life, your curiosity, your independence, but most of all your beautiful smile ๐ Your Mama captures all this in these beautiful photos of you.

Mama, that hair suits you SO well. It’s full of life and swing.
we suffered from a corneal abrasion this last week (a deep paper cut to the eyeball)-trip to urgent care and all.
Happy Week to you.
Oh that video. Big, beautiful tears in my coffee this morning.
Kelle – I adore seeing your little people grown and stretch into their own little people! I truly enjoy reading your blog and get a little “alright let’s do this” inspiration from you each time I do. Things like, let’s tackle this mess, bake something, let the kiddos do something FUN. And, I for one, don’t mind your chalk drawings one bit! I would love to know where your train pillow came from?? My little train buff would adore that in his bed or on our playroom couch. Would you mind sharing where it’s from?
Oh, I was breathless during the GMA story. Absolutely beautiful! Makes me so excited for my Sammy’s future. The possibilities are absolutely endless!!
How cute is Lainey all ready to cheer? Girls growing up create so many mixed feelings. ๐
Happy fall, mama.
Splendidi! Ma quanto sono cresciuti questi bambini???
Un bacio a tutti ๐
I live right by Verrado, the school in that video. One of my coworkers was telling about it last week and it made me think of you right away. Glad the story found its way to you!
I wasn’t sure if you saw this wonderful story about a girl playing volleyball with her winning team but here’s the link: http://www.connectamarillo.com/news/story.aspx?id=956023&hpt=us_bn8#.UlSXqdKUSni
Such love and support for this sweet young lady!
Ninja star had me cracking up…poor thing! Loving Nella’s hair. It’s getting SO long. Sweet post!

Taste the Rainbow.
I’m telling you, I could just eat that little Dash right up with a spoon! He has got to be THE cutest baby boy I have ever laid eyes on! Enjoy those sweet, sweet baby snuggles,
I did see that GMA and immediately thought of sweet Nella. You know I had to come look at your aubergine tights after your “Breathe” post and what you replied was exactly what I have been feeling. I have a photography business and when I post things I feel the same way. Either way, I’m screwed and judgement is all around. For this people pleaser that’s some kind of fresh hell but I don’t have near the following that you do. You’re so inspirational. I hardly ever comment because you get like bazillion comments but I’ve been following you from the beginning.
You’re on my bucket list to meet someday. Not in a creepy stalker way but in a “why can’t we live in the same town, we’d get along fabulously” way. Keep on writing girl!
Beautiful pictures. I saw the GMA high school video entry asking Kary Perry to perform at their school. The video starring their cheerleaders. It was great. I hope Katy visits their school. Lainey looks great cheering. Dash is getting big and gorgeous and Nella is beautiful, I love flip flops! Keep enjoying the Fall! Keep having fun.

The first time I read this through I thought it said you suffered from a “cornmeal abrasion” and holy hell I was wondering how THAT would have happened ๐
My former high school submitted an amazing video for the Katy Perry competition as well (all girl school-girl power!) but this one is so giving it a run for its money. LOVED it! Happy tears and wide smile the whole way through.
Xo
Your kids are so adorable!
Love the green dress & tights!
I have read your blog for years, but never commented! You are such an amazing mother, and reading your blog really does make me remember to enjoy life- every bit. Because what would life be without a little sadness sometimes? Thanks for being an inspiration and helping me appreciate life with my little boy and Peanut (due any day!). For what it’s worth, I love your aubergine tights. Please continue reflecting life as it is- those of us who aren’t crazy love your work!
Dash is sitting in a high chair eating some sort of solid food and crawling?!?! How is that possible? He was just born yesterday. I so enjoy watching your kids grow . . . And growing myself through the introspection your insights bring. Keep up the awesome, Sista!
I’ve been away from Mommy blogs for a while, into different things, but in a fit of nostalgia or maybe hormones I decided to check in on a few of my favourites today and yours is one of them. It’s like catching up with an old friend: wow, your kids have grown! you look great! lovely to hear what you’ve been up to! It’s always a joy to visit your blog and after a hiatus a refreshing one at that. Btw your inspirational post on not being able to please everybody, so please yourself? Such a universal truth.
can’t believe Dash is already getting his first driving lessons…he looks so big!! also, that video gave me major goosebumps!
A few observations:
1) I LOVE your hair
2) Nellas hair is getting so LONG!
3) Dash is getting big way too quick
4) I love your Fall sidewalk art
5) Laineys shirt….for cheer, I thought it said “cigarettes”, lol! In the pic, all you can see is “garettes!”
The babies are so cute!
I love these pictures!
abiti da cerimonia
Haven’t read your blog for a while….but I love the haircut!
I’ll admit I waved back when you said ‘wildly waving to all Canadian readers’! ๐
That high school’s video is amazing. I cried.
