I know) Well, little did I know that she has a little boy with DS. Not sure if you knew that but it’s true. Changed my whole perspective of her when I saw her playing with her little boy. You women are amazing! You make me want to be a better person, mother and advocate for those sweet, darling designer babies. Thanks so much for changing my world.

I’m so glad you’re doing this. We’re planning on embarking on the adoption journey (through Reece’s Rainbow!) next year and at times the financial aspect can be a bit (or a lot!) overwhelming.

I had NO idea all those babies were out there waiting for love, abandoned by their parents. NO idea. Now I am so sad just thinking of all of them. It is really hard for me not to feel upset that the process to adopt one of these children is so overwhelming, expensive, time consuming, etc. If it were easier/more affordable lives would be changed so much more quickly and often…

Soon to be a former orphan from Russia region 8 She’s almost at the bottom of the “My family found me” page. I am the single mom of 2 very high functioning typical children who had the audacity to grow up on me and now am starting over with a little girl who has already changed my life and will I’m sure have a joyous impact on all those who meet her. You can call me crazy, but I prefer just crazy in love. 🙂

Thanks for bringing light to the worldwide orphan problem. I had no idea. I sat and stared at the photos for hours last night. I didn’t cry…just vowed to try and help make a difference big or small. Maybe a contribution, maybe more. Haven’t really figured it out yet but it has been on my mind ever since. It’s really making me think about if our family is cut out for adopting. It might not be our calling but it got me thinking…and that is a great thing. Hopefully it’s made others stop and think about if adoption could be a good fit for them as well. If your post and call to awareness finds even ONE forever family for those babies..or raises even ONE dollar towards their adoptions…then you have done a very wonderful thing. Thanks for keeping us informed. As always love ALL of your blog posts…the happy, the sad, and the thought provoking! 🙂 Hope you and the family are getting over your colds and are on the mend!
We found our son through Reece’s Rainbow 18 months ago. When we arrived in Eastern Europe we accepted a 2nd referral for a little girl. She was 4 years old & could have been transferred to an institution at any time. Her b-day is Christmas day. There is no mistake we chose Ds. A boy & a girl. Love them! So much that God has called us again. We again are choosing to adopt a little girl, 3 years old with Ds. We recently committed to her. Paperwork going quickly. Now we just have to work hard on fundraising. There is no grant for Masha. Wanna help bring an orphan to a family she deserves? Would love your support. Cliff is lovely. Reading about him makes me hug my Chloe a little closer to my body, wishing that some other baby could feel my arms and kisses. There is nothing that compares to the warmth and smell of a baby. It is sad that there are babies out there missing the security and love of parents.
I have been inspired by your story and photos. I purchased my first “adult” camera. Wish me luck…Hopefully, I learn how to work the camera with some hard work and lots of pictures.
Hope Baby Nella is feeling better soon. I imagine you earned a few grey hairs during this whole ordeal – hope you are enjoying your much deserved break.

You inspire people more than you or we know…I tell complete strangers about your blog. It all started when I took a risk and went to Ohio to be with my boyfriend and his family for 2 days over Thanksgiving week. A risk only because I had to work on Friday and if I got snowed in how on earth was I going to make it back to Florida for the rehearsal on Friday night. (Career: Wedding Planner) It was a busy day last Tuesday making sure I packed everything, all the wedding details finalized, and well you know that out of town list that seems so big at the time. I made it to the plane on time, and sat their thinking this is crazy…I was going to miss being with my family on Thanksgiving to be in Ohio for 2 days. I got out my book at that point, to not talk myself out of getting off the plane before we left the gate. Then the random person that was sitting next to me on that snug AirTran Flight started chatting with me. I have to admit I kind of sighed inside because I was looking forward to the silence for a couple hours. We chatted the whole flight giggling and sharing stories about life and why and where we were going. I found out she’s a teacher for special needs children in Port Charlotte, and I couldn’t resist telling her about your blog and your awesome journey. Admitted I might be board line addicted to your blog, with visiting first thing in the morning to start my day at work. She asked me if I knew you personally, and I had to laugh because I caught myself speaking about someone I don’t even know. Thank you for the inspiration! Inspiring people to always look for the joy in life while “Enjoying the Small Things.” Fabulous!

I’m so very glad that you are supporting Reeces Rainbow and their off-shoot fundaisers. That ministry has grabbed my heart, and coincidentally I found your blog. I would give anything to be able to adopt a child, but I’m a full time working mom of four (ages 16 through 1) and have an unemployed husband so I don’t even know how I would have time to give to another. 🙁 Maybe someday…. I don’t know but if God makes a way I’ll do it. thanks so much for being a voice in the DS world, you show the beauty in it!!!! Love you!!!!
