snap.

March 4, 2009 By Kelle

catching up on some editing from the last few shoots. busy week with shoots last night, tonight, tomorrow night, friday night and sunday afternoon!

whew.

if i don’t get on them right away, i’ll get behind.

with no further ado…

i’m realizing how much i enjoy having something to do with making young girls feel fabulous about themselves. and i am so enjoying taking pictures of these beauties.

two senior shoots…

andrea…

and then last night, addie…

…and then sweet miss kristin with the big blue eyes from last friday:

it hit me last night with a little help from a friend that: holy crap. i’m doing what i love to do.
i love taking pictures. and i am doing it more and more. and it just sort of evolved into this hobby-turned-job. and when did that happen? when i’m in the zone with these beautiful subjects, the whole world disappears for a bit…and i just absolutely love doing this. it’s never a job for me. so…thank you to all you beautiful people, young and old, who trust me to capture them. thank you.

okay…think that’s a wrap…for now.

…enjoying the feeling-blessed things. ~k

apologize for the song. semi-rap, yes. but it works for me today.

oh, wait…p.s.
at the prompting of many after the last post, yes…i enlisted lainey’s artistic talents for her bedroom. her very own art hanging in her room. three little preciously painted canvases. …and i so love them! (tisha, there’s room for one of jonah’s!)

and one more thing: …i mass e-mailed my mailing list on this (if you are interested in receiving specials, please e-mail me at: kascryder@yahoo.com): spring special going on. $130 includes 45 min. shoot and 25 custom-designed premium spring/easter cards with envelopes OR (2) 8x10s and (2) 5x7s. book it, baby.

too bad my senior photos were taken by trenton barr and not by you! they were so cheesy!! but it was also 1993, so . . . hooray for doing what you love!! you’re really good at it. and i like the rap in the song, too.

what i wouldn’t give to “book it.” quite possibly more for the treat of watching you in your element over the actual outcome…although i know that would be priceless. you’ve been given a gift and i’m so happy that you have found a great way to use it!

Still can’t get over how much I love black-and-pink in her nursery.

    NURSERY.

Momentary sidetrack: remember in Peter Pan where the kids are like 10 and 8 and 5 but they all live together in the NURSERY? I used to love love that they called it a nursery even though there were no babies in there….and yet….when do they stop being babies?
    I digress
    (you do NOT)
    Yes I do.

    Anyhoo, still loving the nursery.

Here’s to doing what you love to do.

Uhhh, I believe Kelle needs to remind you that it was Poppa who directed her toward the black finish on the furniture–classy with pink for a girl, and will look fab with, say a rich brown for a boy. Love, Love, Love the Lainey prints–amazing!

I LOVE LAINEY’S PRINTS!!!! (yes I totally yelled that) love love love her art!!

Lainey will definitely get a Jonah masterpiece once I get my stuff together enough to go get brushes and stuff. So you got 12×12 canvases at joann’s? When the weather gets nicer we will start painting or maybe we will laugh in the face of ruining the house and paint in the basement. you know hte michican weather. if i wait for a nice day we may not start painting until June.

Great job on the senior pics!

Bwah ha ha ha ha!!! No, we didn’t get senior pictures. But, girl..you know we did get a knock-off Kinkos printed homemade yearbook that, if I recall, had a page strictly dedicated to our ROLLER SKATING Fridays! Oh, bwah-ha-ha!!! And, they weren’t even rollerBLADES. No, they were skates. Brown, ugly skates with orange laces. But, we thought we were so cool…us sheltered homeschool kids. Cuz we had curled bangs. And pegged pants. Hey, does that pale-face Olan Mills picture of me count as a senior picture? Yes, Joanns…12×12…$5 a piece. I painted the edges black and then let her have at it…barely made a mess! I say do it in the basement…do it today!

I love the master pieces in Lainey’s room. Senior pictures are so much better than my cheesy picture between the trees.

how exciting to have a hobby-turned-“job” (is job the right word for what you do? job … seems so … unimportant and unmeaningful and blah. which is a perfectly descriptive word, dontcha think?)
i was thinking about that statement last night … while lying in bed and not sleeping. and i think i could talk about that topic for hours. really. and then someone commented on my photo blog … that they are surprised that i don’t do that for a living. and it absolutely made me cry. ’cause maybe i could … someday.
so … in other words … what i’m really trying to say is …
yay you! yay for being who you are and being successful at it. yay for loving your little girl and making her feel successful and talented and happy. and yay for being happy yourself … ’cause that’s really all there is to life.

Love that her art is on the wall. So sweet. Her signature is amazingly legible for a nearly-two-year-old.
