Happy Friday! We are getting ready for our annual North Pole Party this weekend which we look forward to all year. Nothing feels more festive than a house full of kids in Christmas pajamas with Bing Crosby crooning over their giggles. I love this special night so much. In the meantime, here’s a little round-up of some gift ideas for the kids.
- Wooden Town Play Set – A step up from classic building blocks, this colorful set includes everything you need to erect a cute little town, complete with road signs, trees and a grocery store.
- Kids Wallet and a Shopping Date – I’m not a huge fan of shelling out cash for a gift, but this is a great way to do it with meaning. A sweet kid-friendly wallet with a little cash tucked in it, maybe a gift card to their favorite restaurant, and a card explaining that you’re taking them on a one-on-one date over holiday break to go shopping and out to lunch.
- Calico Critters – This is the year I went into the abyss of Calico Critters and never came out. We hear Nella play school a lot in her room with Barbies or toys–acting out the teacher’s voice, giving assignments, etc. I found the Calico Critters school, started poking around the Calico Critters land, and the rest is history. Dear God, are they ever the sweetest. Check out the starter home
- Remote Control Bumper Cars – Dash has these, and they are so much fun. Two players compete to bump each others’ drivers out of their seats (the drivers go flying when the cars get bumped, and Dash laughs hysterically).
- Garnet Hill Boiled Wool Critter Slipper Boots – Best kid slippers ever. We’ve had several pairs, and they last forever. Warm, cozy, firm durable sole and the sweetest characters to choose from.
- Beyblade tops -Dash played with this at a friend’s house and fell in love, so he’s asking Santa this year for it.
- Kiwi Crate Kit – I love all the options KiwiCrate offers now – subscription crates tailored not only to the age of your child but their interest. We love the Doodle arts and crafts box, but the Tinker one is great for builders.
- Delicate Monogram Necklace – I wear my monogram necklace from Anthropologie every day, and get so many compliments on it. This smaller more delicate version is perfect for the girls.
- Mini Dolls – I mean, anything miniature is a hit in this house. These babies remind me of one of our favorite kid books, The Rainbabies. They fit in the palm of your hand and each comes with a baby accessory – strollers, high chairs, walkers, cradle, etc.
- Anne Arrives – It’s Anne of Green Gables, all packaged up in a kid-friendly picture book, and I can’t even. The sweetest illustrations capture the essence of Anne we all love.
- Night Capture the Flag – This looks like so much fun! Everything you need to play Capture the Flag, but at night. Glow bands for team players, light-up orbs. The perfect adventure for some holiday break family memories.
- Pack Your Bags Game – I love finding games that work for all three of my kids, and this one is perfect. Everything Petit Collage makes is thoughtfully designed, and this is no exception.

Hey Kelle!
I have searched everywhere for the reindeer food ingredient labels and am coming up empty. Do you know of anywhere I can purchase them? Our first annual North Pole Party (inspired by you and your never ending Christmas magic) is Saturday and I really wanted to include them! Thanks!
Kelle says
Found it in the archives: https://kellehampton.com/2012/11/reindeer-labels/
Have so much fun!

Don’t know how I missed that! Thank you!

The capture the flag game is the best ever and the company has the most amazing customer service! My almost 8 year old twins want to play it in a dark house every.single.night – and we’ve used it for a Girl Scout troop as well. You can buy expander sets.
Do girls like beyblades too, I wonder?
Always love your lists! I’m buying the bumper cars for sure!

I’m so glad to hear this!! I think girls would like beyblades too!
