Since we’ve been going to Isles of Capri, we’ve endured a nice handful of beach casualties. Barnacle cuts. Jellyfish stings. Snappy crab pinches. They’re more like badges of honor, really, or markers that distinguish one Isles of Capri trip from another. Yesterday, our list grew to include stepping on a bee (me) but far more exciting, witnessing the dispatch of the Isles of Capri firemen who sped away to save a 700-pound dolphin that jumped aboard a pontoon boat and listening to the firemen recall the event when they returned, blood-stained and exhausted. Apparently, it made national news (chance of it happening is 1 in 3,000,000)…and boat passengers and dolphin are, thankfully, all fine.
I’m sorry to say I can’t say the same for the bee.
We were feeling pretty convicted being that we hadn’t been attending services at the Church of the Holy Beach. But, lucky for us, the beach is merciful among its many other qualities, it welcomed us back, and we picked up where we left off.
Our happy place on the Isles of Capri is nothing overly fancy–a family-owned restaurant, a tiki hut bar with a thatched roof, a dock and a skinny stretch of beach, long enough for a shell-scouring walk but short enough to keep an eye on the kids without panicking. And it’s perfect for us.
And, for all the times we’ve been there, it’s different every time. Same beach, same kayaks, same bathing suits, but somehow a different brew of energy and friends and feeling–but all good.
Yesterday was colorful and calm.
I like watching Brett in his element. More relaxed–as if that’s possible–and walking around with a bit of a swagger, as if there’s a part of his subconscious slightly aware that he found this little gem years ago and, like a fine explorer, shared the goodness with the masses…the many friends and family that now join us for a rousing Sunday service at the Church of the Holy Beach. Amen to that.
I know I’ve said it before, but so many of my feel-good moments at this place are just as much about recognizing that our kids are stashing memories as they are about the splendor of the present. We talk about what they will remember–how they will retell adventures of crab hunts and dock dives in their twenties–and we hope the presence of those memories will strengthen the importance of adventure and family and making time to appreciate things like how an adirondack sinks into wet sand, how fast an army of sand crabs can scurry up a mangrove trunk, or perhaps the more phenomenal recognition of how a random flying dolphin can land gracefully onto the deck of a boat.
We stashed another jar of beach memories onto our ever-growing shelf in our Isles of Capri cellar.

The Beach “Oh,” the most higly regarded of the “Oh” variety.
And though we don’t give much attention to the “whens” and “hows” of our babies’ milestones, we have a few requirements for things our babies must do and “sleep on Isle of Capri” is one of them. They take naps in tents, wrapped in towels, snuggled in arms, cradled against cold sand, shaded from the sun in wicker baskets, and they sleep greased in sunscreen and sweaty from the heat, but sleep they do. It’s a Hampton rite of passage.
Spring forward we have…into our favorite rituals of longer days and shorter nights.
Looking forward to more grouper baskets, Bob Marley, kissing shoulders that smell like coconut, synchronized dock dives, Johnson Bay sunsets, salty crater jumping, late beach storms that send us running into the tiki hut for coffee, and the many hundred moments I’ll stop for just a second and think “I hope they remember this.”
Game on, Isles of Capri. We’ll be back.

And some of my favorite Isles of Capri jams canned and stored on my shelf: giant crab trip, giant starfish trip, growing belly trip, Memorial Day bash trip, giant ball of family love trip.

Polka dots, pig tails and bikinis! I couldn’t have asked for anything more on this dreary Monday in Oklahoma. Thanks!!
I love your photos they are so great!! Just a suggestion – you need this song on your playlist (don’t judge the artist – they are great)
“Make It Out Alive” by Hanson. It’s right up your alley!

Makes me wish we lived by a beach… but the mountains will be calling to us any day now and we’ll head up there to create our own little memory stash :).
What a happy sponsor! I was just thinking about a growth chart for my little!
Oh, sun, sand, sunsets….all I have is snow. Thanks for sharing a little of your island!
Lovely, as always…. When is the book coming? 🙂 (There must be a book, one day…)
Oh your beach pics make me want to grab a suitcase and head East immediatley! 🙂
Lainey looks so sassy in her little bikini! Too cute!
So happy to see more Isle Of Capri photos! I can never get enough. I’m from Kentucky so its nice to sit in my living room and look out the window and see cold kentucky rain, then glance back to my computer and see the warm salty beach air.
keep bringin’ the magic.
I so enjoying reading every post of yours. You so made me feel like I was in Florida also. I really want to go back to Florida.. *ahh*
I’m sorry- but DOES NELLA HAVE HER HAND ON HER HIP IN THE SECOND PICTURE??
I was in absolute stitches…
Both girls look like they are back in their element….right where they (and you) belong!!

Oh my. I can already see the sunkiss on their sweet little bodies. Just beautiful. Your Isle is just the most colorful place I have ever seen.
In that first photo the sand looks like snow or sugar.
I’m definitely dreaming of the beach today! We have SNOW in St. Louis. I love, love, love little Nella’s blue ruffled swimsuit. Too cute!
Looks absolutely amazing! I wish my “Isle of Capri” was a bit closer!
What a great place to spend family time! The pictures are gorgeous and make me long to take my boys to the beach!
I wish we had a beach like that around here!
Sounds like your family had a great time. I wish we could join you down there sometime! Perhaps one day… Anyway, the new sponsor sounds like a fun one to check out. Winning would be great! We could get some items to add to our adoption fundraiser! (http://ourlivesworksinprogress.blogspot.com/)
That last picture is one of my all-time favorites!
I wish we had an Isle of Capri close by! Adorable growth chart- I would love to have one for my own little bit of sweetness.
nellas bathing suit is absolutely adorable!!! i’ve been following(stalking) your blog for awhile but this is the first comment i’ve left. you are an amazing mother and family. you provide your children with such wonderful times and memories and they will look back on all the times at the beach running around with you, building sand castles and just being together.
The growth charts are soooo cute! I can’t get over the Hoot Hoot one!
Dreaming of a beach scene like that! Lovely pictures.
We just got home to Chicago from a week in Marco Island and because of you we made a little pit stop at Isles of Capri, a place that was never on our radar even though this was our third year down there. Thank you for sharing this sleepy little treasure. Can totally see why your family loves it. Then we stopped in Naples and literally ran into the St. Paddy’s Day parade and when I turned to my husband and said I bet Kelle is here he looked at me like I was a complete stalker crazy person!
Wow, I need to get the kids to the beach. Looks like your weekend was awesome!

The picture of the sand looks alot like the snow in my yard minus the bee!
This brings back fond memories of my family’s yearly Lake Huron vacations when I was young. I deeply cherish those memories. So, don’t worry, your daughters will remember everything…especially the love and feelings of pure happiness. Great post!
your post made me long for the sun… which we have little of here in the kentucky bluegrass. always love your style kelle! have a great day! xx laurie
What a fun post and cute giveaway!
Oh how I wished I lived closer, that beach looks like a lil’ piece of heaven…especially as I sit here at my desk and look at the drizzle of this cold kentucky day…I’m so ready for Spring!! And BTW, from the previous post, way to go Nella!! I got tears in my eyes, how exciting a time this must be, watching her grow stronger daily!! Have a beautiful and blessed week!
Your beach pictures always makes me want to move to Florida. Love them!
I am in love with Nella’s bathing suit! I can’t wait until it’s warm enough here in MI to go to the beach.
I’m from Northern Wisconsin where the weather is still freezing unfortunately! Looking at all your beach pictures makes me want to grab a book, my swimsuit, and a chair to head out to the beach! Thanks for givin’ us a little piece of spring/summer 🙂
I love the growth charts! Adorable!
I to wish I was closer to the water. Beautiful shots!
Wishing I had warm weather and a beach to frequent. Great chart to help watch your kids grow – thanks for sharing 🙂
I wish so badly that i could jump on a plane and join your family for a sunday isles of capri trip, it would definatly beat first day back to classes after spring break.
Have a great week!!!
Melissa
Living in Minnesota where there is still snow on the ground and on a good day it reaches 40 degrees I love looking reading about your beach adventures and looking at your pictures! It gives me hope that summer is right around the corner for me as well. By the way Nella’s swimsuit is adorable!!
Beautiful! I can’t wait for the warm weather to hit NJ.
ahhh… the sand, the music, the bathing suites…. I have total beach envy right about now!
I love reading your blog. When a new post pops up in my dashboard reading list, I get very excited! The way you tell your family story is beautiful, and I just love your photos!

Yeah!!!
Isles of Capri is back!!!
Love it. One of my favorites. I had a feeling that yesterday you were at your special place.
The pics are gorgeous……
Maybe one day we can meet you there. What you think?
Happy Monday!
The pictures of your family at the beach, makes me wish we lived closer to a beach. I love the beach, it is where I always feel closer to the presence of God.
I’ve never been to a beach, I’m enjoying the everlasting snow in SD!
We live in Southern California, next to some of the most beautiful beaches. Your beach, though, shines through with character and whimsy. Gorgeous pictures.
So jealous of your Isle “getaways”…but your pictures help me smile in our gloomy Cincinnati weather right now.
Wishing it was warm enough for swimsuits here…soon enough 🙂 Until then we will make spring memories with whatever mother nature throws our way. Loving the new sponsor!
I was at Disney World last week with my sweet four-year-old and I couldn’t help but wonder how close I was to you 🙂 I love your blog and the way you mama your babies.
And those growth charts look great!!!
Your Isle of Capri shots always make me smile. Thanks for your blog.
I’m with you! I hope to make memories my littles will remember and make them smile and laugh and snort milk out of their nose at the dinner table when we talk about it for the 30th time.
Beautiful! The last photo of Lainey and Nella is just breathtaking. You are such a blessed mama!Such happy beautiful spirits they are.We have been sooo busy this week I have not had a chance to go one the computer. It was a special treat indeed to read the past three posts.Congratulations to Nella for pulling herself up! I feel in awe of Nella. What a precious gift she is. Happy Monday and have a wonderful week Hampton Family:)
My little guy turned 9 months old on Friday, and it hit me that an era has passed as he’s now more and more mobile and 1 is just around the corner, and I’ve got to capture these moments now. I love the growth chart- it’s perfect for my current state of mind right!
Naps on the beach. Wrapped in a towel, slathered in sunscreen. *sigh* Heaven.
Oh I wish it was that warm here 🙁 We are still freezing in many feet of snow!
Summer vacation, Isle of Capri, here we come! Simple pleasures just what we all need. Thanks for sharing.
You make the isles look so dreamy!!! I love the beach!! We are looking forward for warmer weather ahead here in New York soon.
I love the ending picture on this post. Of course the “Oh” is a great one to. I love love that growth chart!!!!!!
And oh they WILL remember these beach memories. I just blogged about my own beach days growing up…long gone by now, but still so vivid in my memory. Read about it…. http://rachelle-ramblingsofarockstar.blogspot.com/2011/02/lifes-beach.html
Kelle – loving the pictures from the beach, but I’m wondering if that mosaic ball is made of glass or if it is a play thing like I suspect?
ah…the beach. it looks fab. especially from the midwest 🙂
Beachside Baptist!
Hallelujah.
loving those mini-cards, and would really love some shopping money for the adorable new sponsor! Happy to see you started your daylight savings off right!
Oh I am so jealous that you get to spend these days at the beach already! And I love the Beach “Oh”, especially with the little touch of sand on her lip! So cute! What a wonderful blessing for you kids!
Beautiful pics Kelle, makes me long for the 50 degree temps we’re supposed to get this week! Hooray! Does this mean I can wear capris in the Midwest?!
Oh how I wish the weather here was the same as over there. I look out the window to grey skies and rain. I cannot wait for the warm weather and to spend as much time at the beach and the pool as possible.
I just love the last photo of the girls. those kind of pictures are my favorite.
Yay for the return of the Isle Of Capri posts!
I love the 1st photo of Nella standing by her growth chart.. She looks so big & grown up! Also the very last photo is adorable!
Thank you for brightening up my Monday!
Oh and on a sidenote I want to say thankyou for introducing me to the Shuttefly Photobooks 🙂 A few days ago I received my sons 1st book that I made after seeing yours and it is AMAZING! I’ve already started on his next one 🙂
I’ve been following your blog for a little while now. I love it. Your pictures are so beautiful–and so are your little girls!
Thanks for sharing!
My sweet little munchkin’ has that same blue polka dotted suit, love it! That growth chart is fabulous and we could definitely put it to good use! 🙂
LOVE LOVE the Beach! Looks like Fun was had by all.
How beautiful and fun! The girls looks so cute in their little swim suits. I can’t wait to get my baby out in hers 🙂
I remember this from reading your blog last year – as your summer starts and we are still in the grips of cold; to visit you and see the beach is just heaven! I am just vicariously visiting Florida through you. And it makes me want to one day visit that special Isle of Capri. You are so lucky to have that climate and those beaches on your doorstep! The girls look wonderful – as ever. And in honour of Nella – ‘Oh’! Lou x
After spending 5+ years in Hawaii being 1.5 hours from the gulf coast now just doesn’t cut it for me. I miss beaches and am planning a lot of day trips once school is out!
And I LOVE those growth carts!!
There is snow on the ground in Kansas today. Yesterday, on my birthday, the day which is supposed to be the official start of spring in my family, it snowed. Thank you for bringing me the beach:)
Oh this makes me ready for summmer…while I look out on the rainy pavement and grey sky. Happy Monday!
Needed to read about ignoring the “whens” and “hows” today. Filling out paperwork to do with milestones for my son’s speech therapy yesterday and spent all night questioning myself incessantly as many mothers do. Today’s blog encouraged me to stop evaluating him and myself and just pick him up and cuddle on the couch. thank you
Send some of that beautiful weather up north! =)
Beach, warm, sun, cutie patooties, aaaah, thanks for the Monday smiles 🙂
The bond between your two girls is so precious that it makes me wonder if maybe I do want to try for a second little after all 🙂
Tsunami warnings and sadness kept us away from our beloved so cal beaches this weekend…but oh, how we can’t wait to come back!
We are beach goers. Major major beach bums. But… we don’t have a particular day when we all meet up. I think we need to remedy that this summer. Looks too too fun!
I too spent many moments thinking about the memories we are making. It’s part of why I blog. To have a record to look back on, in hopes of filling the memory banks with as much joy as we possibly can.
i loved this post-reminds me of our beach trips!
Love your Isle of Capri days and wishing we could fly straight down to Florida to sit on the beach too! Maybe one day…
Love, Love, Love Nella’s polka dot, ruffled swimsuit!
Beautiful pictures once again…..almost felt like I was there at the beach (nope, still here in 40 degree Iowa:( ) Makes me even more excited for my trip to the Riviera Maya in a few weeks!
Looks like a great time!! Love the growth chart! Nella is such a big girl:)
A beach trip to your Isle of Capri sounds fabulous…we are experience lots and lots of rain here in the NW…but spring is coming!
I would love a growth chart for my daughter as she is standing up now.
I echo the other minnesota commenter. It was 15 degrees yesterday and we might hit 40 today. I am reminded about how much it’s the simple things that we will remember as a family. It looks like you had a beautiful time!
So dreamy…
Love that growth chart too! So perfect!
This makes me sigh and wish we lived near a beach!
Love Nella and her growth chart 🙂
We have a neighborhood pool that is our Isles of Capri…I’m with you on the memories…feel so grateful that my girlies are stashing memories of lazy, hot summer days spent with friends.
xoxo
Adorable! I can’t wait untiL warm weather finds us here in New England! Enjoy….
Jealous of your beach trips 🙂
NY is waiting to can some jam here too!! What a refreshing treat to see all of having so much fun as we wait for ours.. You make the wait a little more pleasant.. have a great week! 🙂
So proud of Nella! Love the growth chart!
Right now our “growth chart” is pencil marks on our kitchen wall . . . so we’d love one that doesn’t look so ghetto 🙂
Sounds like a glorious weekend! Ouch on the bee though!! My husband is a firefighter and I’m sure the words “We saved a dolphin” will never come out of his mouth…ha ha. Beautiful pictures and beautiful babies!
Secretly wishing I could be on Isle Capri right now. The winter doldrums( in Minnesota) have sunk in so deep it leaves me yearning for beaches and sun kissed skin.
I love the last pic of the girls. What memories you create for your kids. Love it.
Amy
I how I love the pictures of your family on the beach. And napping with the sea breeze kissing your face…priceless! Thanks for sharing Kelle. :0)
I wish I had an isle of Capri. Beautiful!
I love the Isle of Capri and I’ve never been. Must visit. Also, how bad is it that I was totally waiting for photos of your firemen?
So jealous of your ability to escape the everyday! Even with bee-stepping and dolphin boat-jacking thrown into the mix, it still sounds more wonderful than my Sunday stuck inside!
Nella’s growth chart is ADORABLE! I had to forward the post to my sister as she’s looking around for growth chart ideas for her little one.
Love Florida sunshine from center state, but we are craving white winters and better schools. We are planning a trip to Isle of Capri before our move. Add us to Brett’s list of joiners!
Can beaches heal the soul? I like to think so.
le sigh. it’s still in the 30’s here in illinois. i’m ready for spring in the worst way possible. i could just see myself on the isle warm in the sun. aaaah
How gorgeous! Thank you for the Monday happy!
Your pictures are gorgeous and always make me more than a little jealous!
It,s so great to have a place like that. We,re just on our way to our cottage for our winter- vacation. It,s a wonderfull place to make memories trough the hole year. Love the photo of the girls sitting in the sand, with their backs turned. Looks like bestfriends… <3
Beautiful post! I’m lovin it…
That blue swim suit is the cutest thing ever. I need to go find one like that for my little 10 month old. Great photos as always.
Great pictures. Sounds like a very good time at this Isle of yours. Take me with next time? xo
Reading this post I just kept thinking how wonderful it is all the memories you and Brett are making for your girls.
Beautiful pictures. Love little Nella all cozied up in the beach towel sleeping!
That growth chart is the cutest I’ve ever seen! Is yours canvas or paper?
I’m a total sucker for the beach, and your Isle of Capri posts always make me drool. And because it’s so obviously evident that your kids are adorable (and everyone reminds you of that), I want to step out and say that YOU are so beautiful, yourself, Kelle!
Read about the dolphin story this morning on foxnews, crazy. What a great way to spend the weekend. Family, and sun between your toes. Fun!
Love the blog.
Headed to Marco Island in an hour! Hope to see some dolphins. 🙂
I absolutely love love LOVE Nella’s Swimsuit! So stinking cute! Glad you all had an enormous amount of fun again!
I cannot wait for the beach! Last year we spent much of our beach time preventing our daughter from methodically shoveling handfuls of sand into her mouth…she can be pretty focused when she wants to!
Very cute shop- these pics make me miss the beaches in FL!
Still searching for our secret beach gem, but in California, secret beach anything is hard to come by! Too many people, too expensive beach property, not enough great hole in the walls. Still on the hunt though…
The pic of the girls looking at the water is by far the BEST pic!!! How beautiful!!!
So many wonderful photos in your blog today. I adore the one of you holding Laney and both of you laughing, it’s so genuine and fun! And that last picture of the girls… forget about it! One I’m sure they will treasure forever. So glad your post today has those adorable cards, I’m getting ready to have my baby shower and will be in need of some very cute thank you cards! Love the blog!!
As usual your images are breathtaking. Such a wonderful burst of sun in our Ohio winter. Thanks!
I can’t wait until it is warm enough for bathing suits and swimming here in Minnesota!
Absolutely love your blog! What a talented writer you are! I’d love to win those awesome cards! Happy Spring!
The Isle of Capri looks so beautiful…wishing I could be there on my Spring Break!
Loved reading about your weekend. Ours was also good – albeit with some wind and sickness, but grandpa and grandma came to visit and we loved it!
The growth chart is adorable – that’d be my pick if my number was “picked”
Have a great week!
-Tami in MT
It’s so great to see how much you enjoy every bit of being a mother. I’ve heard many too friends complain that taking their kids to the beach is too much work, sand gets every where, they just want to nap, etc. It saddens me to hear things like that, so I really love the happiness and warmth in your pictures.
It feels like you live lightyears away while I read this snuggled under a blanket on a rainy day.
Kind of ridiculously jealous whenever you post about your Isle. I don’t have anything like that here without a long drive, and even if I did take that long drive out it’s not even feeling like Spring yet in PA. But soon it will, and then upon us will be SUMMER and then I’m all for randomly calling friends up and packing it to go to the beach.
I love that it’s more than having fun there, it’s the memories you keep after all is well and done, and the chance that your girls will remember and use those memories to better their own lives and the people they love’s around them. Not to mention they’re gonna be rockin swimmers, right?
Oh, these pictures of the girls on the beach are just making me melt. So, so sweet. Nella’s bathing suit is to die for cute.
The birds in the water look like they are in the middle of a synchronized swim! Love it!!
Glad you got to visit your happy place this weekend, and thanks for sharing some of your sunshine with us. Bad bee!!
xo
Kris
Fun times. I feel like I’ve been to the Isle of Capri just by reading your posts. Love it!
I love that even the chairs are colorful and half in the water, like they want to play, too!
looks like a super fun weekend at the beach!
love the growth charts. i’ve been meaning to get some for my two kids for years. they’re seven and five now. guess i better hurry up!
I love Nella’s “Oh” face — so precious! I am so jealous that it’s warm enough for beach trips in Florida. It’s still a teeny bit cold here in Texas…but soon, very soon. Your post has me looking forward to it!
Oh Kelle, they will remember. They will not remember the days but they most certainly will remember the moments at Isles of Capri. How could they not?!
I will never, ever tire of hearing about your trips to Isles of Capri. Because of how lovely you’ve always made it sound, it’s on my bucket list of places to go in Florida once we can afford to take another vacation down there!
What beautiful pictures and a beautiful place to make memories.
I wish we could go to the beach right now – we do have some great little beaches here, not as warm but still fun. It has been raining like crazy for the past week. For now I will live through your experiences and pictures.
I wish we could go to the beach right now – we do have some great little beaches here, not as warm but still fun. It has been raining like crazy for the past week. For now I will live through your experiences and pictures.
Love the photos, like I always do!!
Cool birds in that one photo!
Seeing that picture of Nella in the arms of your friend with the drink in his hand…made me think I’m glad he didn’t spill it on Nella!
Stepping on a bee…not fun!
The growth chart is great!! Love it!
Ooooh, love the growth charts! I have been looking for something different and decided I would make something, but that hasn’t happened just yet. Perfect timing for my 2 babies.
What great pictures! I am loving the one of the pelicans! Sandy toes, polka dots, bikinis, and pig tails- thats what little (southern)girls are made of 🙂 I grew up on the MS coast and have caught star fish, hose shoe crabs, sand dollars you could scoop up by the handfuls, even caught a sea horse in a sand bucket but the dolphin story is a first- cool!!
Love these pics! Wish I could go to your church!
Can I just tell you how jealous I am right now?! How I long to be outside in the warm sun…coming from dreary, cold, windy Indiana! Hurry up Spring!
Isn’t it funny how a blog can provide fresh air? I don’t even have to step outside! Thank you for that!
Oh, I’m jealous today as I sit and hear another day of rain in tacoma.
You’ve experienced our Sundance and our Park City – I MUST, repeat, MUST experience your Isle of Capri with the little men. On the list…. 🙂
You really make me want to move so that my kids can have those memories too! What lucky little girls!
We left the beaches of sunny Southern California almost 3 years ago for the rocky mountains in Utah, and while most of the time I’m only a little sad, today your post made me wish we could be snow birds, living at the beach in the winter and the mountains in the summer.
Thinking of the beaches on the other side of the Pacific today…Japan. Prayers and well wishes from us and your sweet isle of Capri too I’m sure.
I’m wishing for sunny skies and green grass over here in Michigan. Your girls are adorable and I LOVE your photography! You truly have a gift.
Jealous of that warm weather!
I need to find my own Isle of Capri – and where you get those ruffley little teal shorts that Lainey is wearing. Please do tell!
I love the cute sandy toes. Cannot wait to go to the beach this summer!
Oh how you taunt me with your sun, sand and bathing suits. Thanks for the beautiful pictures and descriptions, it helps to subdue the jealousy 🙂
I have 5 minutes left on my break @ work and this is just what I needed. Love the church of the Isle of Capri.
OOO THIS MAKES ME SO EXCITED FOR OUR FAMILY VACAY TO DESTIN IN APRIL! BRING ON THE SUN, SAND AND BEACH!
LOVE THE GIRLS BATHINGS SUITS WHERE DID YOU GET THEM?
I’m positively green with envy over here!! The sun and warm weather keeps teasing us and the beach is a 5 hr drive…I can’t wait for SUMMER!
This post makes me CRAVE summer! I can’t wait til us midwestern folks can break out our suits and slather on large amount of sunblock!
I wish I live where you live! I love your pictures and story!!
Oooh I want to be there RIGHT NOW. But I think, I’ll have to make do with the almost-spring PA sunshine and the sandpit at the local park. Once my girls wake up from their nap that is…
I ache for the beach right now. Mainly the end of the day part. Where you just feel so relaxed. And every one leaves happy, sleepy and sunned, with that wind and salt water look and feel, and no one melts down and every one falls asleep for a nice nap on the way home. It could happen.
We live in N.C. and have yet to get our first beach trip in. After seeing those picks I know we need to do it this coming weekend. Although we will have to wait a little longer before we slip into bathing suits. Not quite as warm here yet!
Can you share some of your warm weather way up here in Minnesota? We’re itching to get out and play! However, there are still double ditgit inches of snow left to melt. We’re loving the extra sunlight in the evening, though!
My folks have lived on Capri for years, but sadly enough, we have never gone to the Fish House…we are seeking out warmer weather and visiting them in a few weeks, and we will surely check it out. Your pictures and fabulous tales of your Sunday visits to Capri have me counting the days until our trip to SW FL!
Kara
I have been looking for fun ways to make my little boys room look more fun! This would be perfect!
Really wishing I lived where you did! I’m really sick of snow! Thinkin ahead to summer:)
Looks like a wonderful family weekend!
I am from the frozen tundra of Minnesota and I was fortunate to be able to spend some time in the Isles a few weeks ago. A friend of a friend of a friend has a condo at Twin Dolphins right over there. It was AMAZING! We got to see those dolphins every day….and I believe from the pictures we rented our kayaks from the same place and got to kayak with the dolphins, it was great! I am so green with jealousy seeing your pics and reading about it. I can’t wait to go back someday…truly a paradise! Enjoy the sun 🙂
I love your blog!
so jealous of your weekly beach getaways!! we cant wait to get our 9 month old out once the weather warms up here in north alabama!!
cheers to sunny spring days 🙂
My Isle of Capri is snuggled in the mountains of Northern Vermont and I can’t wait to worship there this summer!
(And now I am forever terrified of dolphins.)
Your pictures are so awesome, but I must admit they are teasers since I’m sitting in cold Ohio these days! Thanks for the opportunity!

Oh, this post makes my heart ache for the ocean. You are so, so lucky to live where you do!
Your girls have the CUTEST swim suits.
Oh and how I’d love to win the gift card to that beautiful shop to get a Growth Chart for my my lil man. 🙂
Oh that sun and blue sky looks amazing! We are still feeling the winter here in Wisconsin. Looking at your pictures makes me feel a little warmer.
Those bathing suits are SO sweet! Love the polka dots and crabs 🙂
Love. Love it all. Sweet babes you have Kel.
So wishing I lived near a beach right now…. a trip to Sea World will have to do.
When I read about the dolphin incident on MSN’s homepage, I immediately thought of you and wondered if you guys were there for the happening! What a memory!!!
Nella’s “oh” face is the best, too stinkin’ cute! I can’t wait for our first beachy day, I can feel it’s just around the corner!
This time of year I am jealous you are able to take day trips to the Isle of Capri, I am here in dreary Chicago and dreaming of the warm sun kissing my cheeks again.
Been following for a while, and decided to step out of the empty space and say hello. I know it will sound a little strange, but this blog has really changed me. For the better. I have read your birth story tons of times, love your writing, and love your sweet girls(as much as a stranger can love peeps they have never met). Your post about your net…ahhh, I am lucky to have one one my own. Then you posted about Bamboroos and that store was right down the street from me before it became on-line. I feel a connection here, not sure why, but I keep coming back. I would love that sweet growth chart for my soon to be 3 under 3 babes.
Jennifer
Your pictures make me SALIVATE with anticipation of our trip to Florida this summer. It’s been 10 years since I was there…I can NOT wait.
I cant wait for the warmer weather to arrive here on Cape Cod! Your pictures are as beautiful as ever….
Oh how I wish I were on a beach right now. Thankfully the sun is shining here in Minnesota. It’s in the 30’s (warm!), and the snow’s beginning to melt. 🙂
These are the cutest! One of my dear friends just found out she is having a girl and I know she would love something from this site. Thank you for sharing!
I need a dose of this particular brand of religion about now.
Thanks for sharing!
Ah, once again I transfer my thoughts from sleet filled roads of Norway to the white beaches of the Gulf. Welcome back to days at Isle of Capri. It makes me long for spring and summer, but it is also a welcomed break from the early spring weather of southeast Norway. Thank you.
I love reading and following you and your family through all your adventures and milestones – big or small. Thank you for sharing and letting me take part in your life journey!
Kristin
Your photos makes me giddy to take my son on his first beach vacation this summer. Oh, and that growth chart? Perfect. If I don’t win, I definitely will be ordering no matter what. Have a great week!
oooh kelle i would love the gift certificate… i have been meaning to make my daughter olivia a growth chart and just havent gotten around to it! she’s 16 months now, i better get on it! i love all of your posts, pictures, travels! i look forward to each of your posts! thanks!
Your girls are so beautiful – and I love your pics that so gracefully capture a simple, lovely day at the beach! My favorite kind of day … but on the other coast! And that crab bikini is just the cutest thing ever
Love, love, love beach days! We are on the left coast and love spending time digging our toes in the sand. So grateful to be able go enjoy these memories with our son.
Why do I not live there!? I am jealous every day of the light, the sun, the babies (ok, well I have 2 of my own sweet girls that would have so much fun playing with yours!), the sand… Really though, love your blog. Love.
Your photos are always so inspiring to me. I am definitely itching to take my daughter to the beach for the first time this summer. Bring on the warm weather!
And love, love, love the growth chart. Been thinking about getting one of those…
‘Amen’ to family time, sun, fun and a break that you well deserve.
Love the growth chart, I have been looking for a unique one for my son.
I can’t wait for summer!! Thanks for inspiring photos of your beautiful family.
Your warm weather is killing me here in snowy Utah. My husband thinks I’m crazy because I keep saying we should move to a warmer climate. He might be right..; )
Love all the pics!!! Looks like a lot of fun. And that growth chart is adorable I’m gonna check it out for my 10 month old little girl. Thanks:)
Absolutely mesmerizing and a little more than slightly jealous of your gorgeous weather! And you know how in the past you have said that yellow is Lainey’s color….I’m thinking Nella’s is that light blue of that bathing suit….so chill and cool!
You are making me long for spring and summer even more!
This post is making me long for spring/summer more than ever! We still have snow on the ground although with the double diget temps forecasted this week maybe we’ll be seeing much more grass!! Thanks for such an uplifting blog~
Just wanted to say that I looooove Nella’s bathing suit! How cute is that?! Where did you get it?
Loving the beach pictures! Your girls are the cutest!
*Sitting on the beach, holding baby girl, and watching crazy dolphins jumpin’ where they dont belong…**
Pretending im there…not returning to work after maternity leave 🙂 Loving your post as always
love love love nella’s bathing suit! can’t wait to take my little girl to the indiana dunes soon for some fun in the sand!
Oh the fun places you all go!
We might just have to make this our next road trip. Map Quested- 2hr 45 min! Totally do-able.
I love the return of the beach pictures! Soon Nella will be running on the beach. 🙂
Among the many viewing your pictures with envy, with piles of snow still outside my windows. Lovely.
just read your last two posts in a row and wanted to first say YAY!!!! Nella!!! What a big girl!
Also, so glad you guys got to slip away to Capri. It looks lovely and has me aching for Florida.
I need a little beach time.. Summer here we come!
I love Nella’s suit. It’s a damn shame full-body ruffles aren’t exactly appropriate on a 25-year old woman or I would so be rocking one just like it.
Ohhh! Nella’s little bathing suit is SO cute! I want it for my Bristol! Those first two pictures of her are just precious. I love all the pictures, and the summertime ‘feel’ of them 🙂
i’ve always been a 4-seasons kind of girl, but your descriptions of the isle of capri make me want to live in florida yesterday! would love some of petite lemon’s products – cute but not cutesy.
What a wonderful little find this morning – LOVE reading your blog. Your pictures are beautiful, and girls are precious.
Here’s to a great week …
Thanks for a great give-away! Can’t wait until naptime to do some more reading! 🙂
Man, I need a beach. I am very much ready to skip over our (so far) non-existent spring and get straight to summer!
We are moving from South Carolina to Central Florida in a few months…I cannot wait to find our very own “Isle of Capri”.
we had to flee our burning house four nights ago, into the ice and snow in nothing but pjs and bare feet, carrying our terrified children. Our belongings are gone, but our three babies are alive, and that’s all that really matters. Anyway, the pictures of you on the beach remind me that there will be sunny, happy days sometime again.
Until spring and summer arrive, I’ve decided to live vicariously through your pictures. Bring on the sun!
I love all of Laney’s bathing suits!! She’s such a fashionista!
You can’t beat the sunkissed skin of a baby in early March! I love living vicarously through you until our beach getaway is ready for us! Your Isle of Capri is our Assateague Island, MD! Thanks for sharing…it gets me very excited for summer.
I so wish I had a nearby beach to take my kiddos to! But I’m very glad that you use and appreciate what you have and don’t take it for granted!
Love you new sponsor…great stuff!
Love the photos!
o a beach weekend sounds great right about now! cute growth chart
I love love love their swim suits! So adorable! Love seeing beach pictures while it’s raining outside where we are! Have a great day. 🙂
Oh how we’re ready for some sun, swimsuits and warmth!
So peaceful and tranquil ..that’s how your isle of capri post makes me feel.It reminds me of growning up in Oregon and our weekley trips to the coast my family made.It was my favorite place and memeories of my child hood.I really want to find a place like that for my family (hubby and four littles) to go.although it will be hard with the snow in idaho still..but soon.Thank your for the rays sun.

I NEED sun – hope this grey german winter will end very soon. I love these pictures!
love how refreshing this post looks- new seasons- new expectations. We had a miracle this weekend Kelle! My dad got a liver transplant and is recovering as we speak in ICU Univ. of PA hospital… love when you said, think for a moment they will remember this… those little moments we want to hold onto so tightly. xo
Okay this makes me want to move to Florida. We are having horrible weather here in Oregon and I am longing for a beach day! Love the swim suit pics, especially the last one:)
Oh your post made me long for some sun. No swim suits here for months yet. 🙁 As always I love your posts and your girls.
Yay!! I LOVE beach pics! I can almost smell the salty air…I’m from Long Island but now live in Nevada…no beaches here! Can’t wait to head home this summer to the east coast beaches…I’m craving it! nella looks sunkissed in the pics playing by the water…and I love the picture of Lainey and her daddy running on the beach. Happy Monday!!
Love the “ohs”!! Keep them coming!!
Love the polka dot and crab bathing suits! Bathing beauties indeed.
Ohhhhhhhh I can’t wait for our weather to get warmer! You guys are giving us spring fever! 🙂
I’m so happy that you are back at the Isle of Capri! I love these posts and this one is helping me see the light at the end of this seemingly never-ending winter up North. Thanks for sharing and Nella’s beach “O” is definitely the best one!
We were dreaming yesterday about buying a trailer and spending weekends camping and making memories with our kids!
It seems so crazy you guys are hitting the beach in early March! The North West won’t open up for sunshine weather until at least late May. Have fun!
Your girls have the most adorable swimsuits ever! And the growth chart!! Love!
That last picture of your girls in the sand is to die for! I’m so jealous that Oklahoma doesn’t have an Isle of Capri 🙂
Ciao Helle ti auguro ogni bene…la tua famiglia e’ bellissima!!!!! Baci Anto
Ohhh I’m so jealous of that beach! But you’re right, you are totally making memories. I’ll never forget my summers at Lake Michigan as a child. LOVE the swimsuits too! Adorable!
Ah, your Isle of Capri is enticingly gorgeous.
My Isle of Capri is a little slice of life amidst the grey clouds in British Columbia, making hearty pancakes for my kids the first morning of spring break.
Mine is considerably less sunny. But full of love, just the same.
Love the beach photos!
And YAAAY!!! for longer days!
Livin Vicariously right now. Our temps are pushing a balmy 40 and it’s drizzling rain over the dirt-encrusted snowbanks.
Yes, we still have snow.

What beautiful photos….looks like a wonderful time at the beach 🙂
I 100% understand your love for the beach. My husband I were married on the beach and every year, several times, we take our children there. It’s our home away from home and a sense of peace with us. And by the way Nella’s sand “O” is the best! 🙂
Your pictures make me dream of the warmer days – 32 and windy here today! Thanks again for sharing your life… you don’t know how you touch mine.
LOVE the blue and white polka dot suit. Where is that from!? That is my 3 year olds favourite colour blue.
Lovely, just lovely, and so much brighter than Oregon this time of year! Thanks for this. 🙂
i love your capri posts!!!
I will be in Naples in 6 weeks and are taking a trip to Isle of Capri because I want to see the magic!
I love the “Oh” face still 🙂
Dreaming of a lazy Sunday on the beach now…. from a brisk Iowa! Love the pictures!
Oh sunshine how wonderful you look….lovely post
Your photos inspire me to make the effort to hit the beach more often. My little booger is only a couple months younger than Nella and I really want him to have those fantastic memories of a Florida childhood like my own!
I sooo wish I could visit the isle of capri, it sounds like magic arises there.
The first photo looks like snow! Heavenly that it isn’t! My little bundle will be here in 70 days-we have no idea if it’s a boy or girl-the ULTIMATE surprise! 🙂
Beautiful as always! I need an Isle of Capri…something close enough for a day trip. I’m longing for summer weather to move north to us so I can head to the beach!
Love the pics of just your two girls sitting together in the sand! Perfection…
We have 4 small kids and since it is expensive to fly and my husband cannot stand to be in the car for a long time, I have not been to the beach in 7 YEARS! My kids have never seen it. After following your blog for over a year now and looking at your gorgeous beach pictures,I could stand it no longer. I finally convinced him. I had to break a 10 hour drive into 3 smaller trips, but we are taking our kids to Topsail Island, another small beach that I used to visit when I was a kid. Thanks for the inspiration. Now if I could just take you so I could get great pictures!
1. Love the way Nella fits perfectly into each of her bearer’s arms.
2. In both shock and denial about how big Lainey is getting.
3. Will eagerly be checking to mooch off of your Isle of Capri memories starting NOW, every Monday. 🙂
Happy Spring!
Oh how I want to go to the beach!!! I love my home of Ontario…but by this time each year I’m soooo over snow and begin to wait, very impatiently, for the warm, sunny days. I’ll just have to live through you for a little longer… 🙂
Awww I so love making little people memories. My husband and I do the same, go on little adventures and wonder if they will remember these times as we will. So sweet <3
Love the memories you’re creating for your girls and I think they’ll remember most just being together as a family. Doesn’t matter where they are, just that they have the parents undivided attention. That’s what makes the memories and experiences so rich!
xo.
Love the pictures Kelle! They are filled with so much happiness and love. God Bless you and your beautiful family.
That “oh” face is the cutest! Happy Spring Forward!
I love the “Oh”!! So cute. And though we live in Wisconsin, we were in Punta Gorda a couple of weeks ago and my two-year-old is still talking about wanting to go to the beach again. You almost can’t beat the beach for good memories for little ones.
Love Nella’s swimsuit! And oh, how I wish I could transport myself to your area right now….
photos are adorable as usual… and i sit here jealous because how CRAZY Louisville weather is COLD AND RAINY!! :o)
Glad your weekend was colorful and calm! Loved every picture in this post! Makes me crave some Florida heat and sunshine from up here in Michigan! Question: HOW oh how to do look so dang good in a swimsuit cover up with wind tousled hair? Really. 🙂 Happy Monday to you too! 🙂
of course i will leave a comment to win something for free. thanks for the chance. happy day. melissa.
Kelle,
Please don’t ever stop posting the “oh” photos as long as they’re around! I honestly laugh *every time* I see them. And my 4 y/o thinks they’re pretty darned funny, too!
Amazing. Made me desperate for a beach vacation with the kids. Have a marvelous time!

Happy Monday, beautiful Hampton family!!
I love me those pictures, every single one of them:)xo
I am so excited for longer days and shorter nights and I am going to take the girl’s to the beach this summer. We don’t live very close to one, but we are gonna get there. Thanks for sharing your day–love all the pics like always, the white sand is beautiful!!
As a central Floridian I really hope to venture to the Isle of Capri someday soon! Love the items from your new sponsor, so cute!
I can’t wait to get to my own Isle of Capri…here in Boston, it’s Castle Island. Our temps may climb to 60 this weekend and I am planning our first trip back of the season. We’ll be bundled up, for sure, but memories will be made.
Love Nella’s growth chart!
Oh, bring me some of that weather! I can only dream at the moment…at least the sun is shining here today! Your photos are beautiful as always!
Lost in the snow,
Lish
I love seeing the pictures from Capri this year, with Nella totally in on all the action with her sister. I see many beach milestones in her future. I also have to comment on your music selection for today. I am 29 weeks pregnant and as soon as I opened your blog and the music started, my belly was jumping in every direction. I guess he will be a beach lover too!
I read about the dolphin incident this morning and thought of you, wondering if you were there! As I watched it snow I felt even more jealous. Maybe someday we’ll make it down there and see your slice of paradise.
your girls r the cutest, love their swimsuits. cant wait to take my newborn daughter to the beach,
I love all your pictures of the Isle. Makes me ache for a body of water besides a community pool to be closer! I will just have to live vicariously through you and your gorgeous family!
Only six weeks until our little Abby Grace arrives! I can’t wait to start helping her make memories to store in our cellar. So exciting!
Everytime you post about your trips there, I tell my husband, “We HAVE to go there the next time we’re in Florida!” It always seems so magical!
Your pictures today made me realize that I need to get my two little ones to the beach – pronto. We could all use some Vitamin D, sand between our toes, and salty skin.
Seeing your pictures made me long for a day at the beach with the kiddos. We could all use some Vitamin D, salty skin, and sand between our toes!
love that last pic…
It’s been 4 years since I’ve been on a beach!! Too long!!
I totally heard about the dolphin jumping on the boat on the radio this morning and my first thought when I started reading was “holy crap, you were the lady the dolphin landed on”! So glad it wasn’t you and that you were only a witness to all the craziness! Read this post almost makes me forget about the clouds and brewing storm that’s headed in…thanks for sharing your Isle and your sun!
Love your outlook on daylight savings time – longer days and shorter nights! Nevermind the hour of sleep we lost – Spring is almost here!
Loving your pictures – those growth charts are adorable!
Who knew a beach could be so exciting? And what beautiful pics!
It is so cold in NM today, but your post warmed me right up! I have been searching far and wide for a cute growth chart for my little man who turns 1 on Wednesday and I would love to get one like Nellas!
Remember that bucket list post you did a few months back? Well, I’ve decided that visiting the Isle of Capri is now officially on my bucket list. I will get there someday.
I’m sure Ilse of Capri was as happy to see you as you were to see it. I know I was happy to see it in the photos.
every time i see that you have a new post, it’s one of the high points of my day. your family loves like none other!
and i agree that the beach “O” is the best O!
“Oh” Nella & Laniney… you make me wish I lived there. to feel the warmth of the sun, the sand between toes and most of all watching little ones discover.
Please take us back soon. Hugs-from Utah
We are planning a trip to Marc Island. Do you share the family-ownened restaurant and tiki bar you love so much? Or do you keep it a secret?
How envious am I of your Isle of Capri?? Very. Even though we have had good weather today, we have been battling a winter full of storms and temperatures close to -40 degrees celsius here in Calgary…
I am looking forward to a spring and summer filled with your pics of the Isles….
LOVE keeping track of how the girls grow!
I love pictures of the two girls together. Right now I just have 1 son and I dream of the days of giving him a sibling and seeing them play together.
Jealous!! Wish I didn’t live 3 hours from the beach…but, at least I can come to the Church of the Holy Beach via your pics…kinda like watching church on TV. 🙂
What a great way to spring forward. I love your Isle of Capri posts, I feel I am there everytime. Thank you
Oh, I so want to visit your church someday. The last picture of the girls takes my breath away.
xoxo
I LOVE that last shot of your girls sitting side by side on the beach!! I can’t wait to have some shots like that this summer of my littles! My youngest girl just turned one, and my oldest is 31/2. I am loving watching the friendship develop between them as they grow!
Beautiful story. Beautiful Family. Beautiful Pictures.
What I would not give for a beach towel seat at your church!!
I am loving the pic of you swinging Lainey on the beach…she has your beautiful smile 🙂
SO JEALOUS OF WHERE YOU LIVE!
-signed, envious in 40 degree weather.
Looks like you had a great time…and great memories.
Enjoying life
Were expecting our little boy in May with down syndrome. Your an inspiration to us!
O man. That growth chart is gonna be loved. I have the fondest memories of mine growing up.
Oh the sunny beach. Ohio is not treating us with that. Glad you are enjoying it for the rest of us. Beach “Oh” is the best, you are right.
there is something special about realizing that a moment becomes a memory?
love your blog!!
Beautiful, as always. Admittedly, I’m a little jealous of your shoulder-bearing, sun-kissed days on the beach–being here in still-chilly and rainy Edinburgh. But I’m making memories here too, and I know I’ll miss it here when I’m gone. So I’m just relishing it all. Enjoying the small things, Kelle-style. 🙂
Caitlin
from black currant thoughts.
thanks for the escape. seriously lucky girls greased up and chillin’ all at once under the tent. wish it was me.
Looks like another wonderful day at the beach. I’m loving Nella’s blue and white polka dot swimsuit. 🙂
looking at the photos of your girls, slightly tanned… healthy and vibrant… made me pine for the south… and sunshine… cannot wait to move back home… get away from the chicago winters… romp in the yard with my girl and catch fish in our pond… louisiana is calling… .
oh… and i love nella’s bathing suit… super cute, that one… she is OWNING that suit…
I’m still searching for a little piece of Isle of Capri around here in Pennsylvania! Your girls are precious playing by the water together.
Oh it definitely looks like spring has sprung for you!
I LOVE the growth charts! I have been looking for a beautiful one. I will definitely be a customer!
I am so in love with Nella’s little toes! And her bathing suit! I wish I looked that cute in a bathing suit 😉
I love your isle of Capri stories! They remind me of my childhood family vacations to lido key in Sarasota, and I hope I’m able to create similar memories for my kids!!!
island of capri looks like such a magical place! keep making those sweet memories 🙂
Oh my goodness…we just had the rainiest weekend up here in the Northwest. This post was a good reminder that spring might indeed come.
What a nice relaxing moment in the middle of my Monday. Felt like I was there with you, and at the same time reminiscing about my Sunday beach memories.
that little beach sounds so perfect and idyllic
You are making me long for the beach. I’ve decided…We are going to the beach for spring break. Bring it.
Oh sweetness! Love the pic of you holding your big girl and the smiles on your faces!!
xoxo,
April
PS – I could use a trip to the IOC. Loving the sunshine here in the Midwest, but the temps are just not rising fast enough!!
Lovin all the “oh”! Your pics make me realize that I need a vacation!I would take a bee sting for a day at the beach anytime!!!
Got to visit a dear friend who is stationed a whole state away from our Air Force Base last week. Shared your blog with her and among the “I love this! and the “adorable little girls!” comments, I thought the best by far was, “If you look at this picture you kind of think for just a moment she is married to Nicholas Cage.”
Loved.it.
I wish we had a place like the Isles of Capri around here. Sadly, we’re land locked. Enjoy the new season!
My sweet 2 year old says she “wuv Nella Stinky Toes”. She loves baby toes! Looks like a wonderful day. Glorious photos and sunlight on the beach!
so the bee kinda freaks me out. i LOVE what bees do … but ever since i swelled up after a bee sting … i dislike what they can do … thankyouverymuch.
but.oh. the sand. and that sun. jealous.
I am so very envious right now! Your trip to the Isles sound AMAZING!!!
Ooohhh how I wish that we had an Isle of Capri to escape to. Maybe someday…
You know all about brutal winters in Michigan, and this year was no exception. I love beach posts because it makes me warm!! Love the cute suits you have for the girls and the fun adventures you take them on. It will for sure be great memories for them.
Love to read about your favorite family getaway spot; beautiful! Makes me smile and remember that the long Northeast winter may be drawing to a close soon and my little family will be visiting our fav NJ beach!
seeing nella and lainey playing together on the beach makes my heart happy 🙂 … and what i wouldn’t give for a little beach time right now!!!
Reading your post for a minute I felt like I was in the sun with you…so ready for winter to be over! Great pictures, great memories!
How is your foot? Not too swollen, I pray!
jomoseley57@gmail.com
I do believe the next time we’re in that neck of the woods, that a trip to your beach will be in order. FABULOUS
Love your Isle of Capri photos! Our snow is finally melting with the mercury reaching 12 degrees Celsius today – Spring is near!
I want to go to Isle of Capri and never leave!
When I clicked on the link to read the dolphin article it gave me your local weather as well…So jealous from upstate New York!
Oh how I wish we were a hop and a skip away from the beach. Love your pictures!!
such a refreshing break. Through your pictures I feel like I was at the Isle with you yesterday instead of watching the freak rain/thunder/lightning/hail storm that I experienced yesterday.. it definitely was a reminder that Missouri is an adventure…
Great pictures of two gorgeous little girls! Love the one of Nella in front of the growth chart!
That little Boo Boo swim suit is soo stinking cute! I love it!
Love the spring forward…wake up with the sun, days are longer, playing outside all day, breathing in some great vitamin D. Oh, how I wish we had a beach, but a pond or lake in the midwest will have to do.
There’s nothing better than baby toes in the sand! Love it!!
love it !!your post make me so happy
just curious how long your drive is to isle of capri on sundays ?
love and blessings
the doughtys
This makes me yearn for a warm summer day!! What wonderful memories you kiddos will have!

Jeez we still have snow in Utah!!!!! I’m closing my eyes and basking in your sun 🙂
I want an Isle of Capri so badly. I feel like my kids are missing out not having one.
I love the photos and the babies and your words. You rock, Kelle.
I wanna go so bad!!!!
Looks like an amazing day — wonderful family memories! Oh how I’d love to be at the beach — our little one is practicing her swim kicks for the summer at the Y.

Well, now it is a Happy Monday!!
I love your beach! I love how it makes me yearn for it. I wish iy wasn’t so very far away.
oh how i wish we had a beach and warm weather here!
Gosh, I have t tear in my eye. Unexpectedly the picture of you husband and his son just warmed my heart. Quite often I get wrapped up with the day to day workings of three kids under three and I often don’t realize there is a future waiting for us. A future that will be devoid of the worries I have hourly today.
Thanks for a great story! And pointing out that we all must lead by example in order for us instill a sense of family in our kids.
Beach “OH” – I’m in love.
Love the “gem” you have found in that place and may I say that I LOVE your beach cover up! Very cute:)
Oh, how I wish I could be st the Isle of Capri right now! It looks so amazing and I drink in each post I see about it.
Love Nella’s growth chart too! =)
Just love Nella’s little hand on hip picture–made my day!!
I needed this post. I needed that reminder to take my boys to the beach and soak up some FL sunshine. One of my goals this year is get out and do more. Getting to the beach is at the top of my list.
Such beautiful photos! Looks like a fun and relaxing day. Makes me wish for a beach. I love the Petite Lemon Prints items, they are adorable!
I wish we had that beautiful weather to go to the beach in bathing suits! When we hit up our local beach right now we’re wearing hats, gloves and winter coats 🙂
I must know where you got Nella’s polka dot suit! My little Hailey (2 weeks younger than Nella) needs one! 🙂

I love your Isles of Capri, and all the stories that go with it. Bathing suits, warm sun, family and memories what more could you ask for.
I love all of your Isle of Capri posts. I am in such need of a vacation. Maybe this evening I can convince my husband we should start planning one! Off to check out those growth charts, I could certainly use something like that for my girls!
You take such beautiful pictures! I love that you truly take time out for you, your husband, and your kiddos. That is awe-inspiring. 🙂 It makes me want to be a better wife and mother. Take more pictures, be lazy a little bit more, get outside more, say ‘yes’ more to my kids, and just love on ’em more. Ya know? Thanks for being so great and inspiring! 🙂 Happy Monday to you too!
sounds blissful…making me dream of warmer weather here for my babies
So sorry you stepped on a bee. I’ve sat on a bee before, it’s not pleasant! I just adore the picture of Nella asleep in the beach towel. She’s absolutely precious.
My little Owen is one little weed. I must have that growth chart!
Great post for a dreary Monday (dreary here in NY that is!!). Made my day. 🙂
What sweet little memories these beach days will be for your family!!
Tori
Look at Nella, changin’ it up with her leg posturing in sitting…hurray for core strength!! Yay, Nella!! Oh and the beach looks great too, but when you’re a PT, you tend to get sidetracked.) 🙂
Ah life on the Isle of Capri is now added to my live life list.
I love your pantry of memories. We just finished a Spring Break and on my shelf are new jars of “Visit with Baby Chicks”, “State Park Marmalade”, and and “Sleepin’ in on Tuesday”. Along with your blog, they will refresh me when things get crazy at the end of the semester.
Thanks for helping me smell the sea air in Ohio!
The beach, the love, the pictures. Oh I love it! Thank you for giving me the spirit! Ah, although its still winter here in Tromsoe.
If only Kentucky had a beach–and warmer weather (big, fat sigh!) However, spring is making its grand entrance in the bluegrass state–just as a slightly slower pace. There are a few 50-60 degree days that fill my heart and soul and make me fall even more in love with the season! Sidewalk chalk, nature walks and bubbles–here we come!
I adore the picture of Brett with his mirrored sunglasses holding Nella…she looks like she is puckering up to kiss his chest!
Ok so after getting to “know” yu I planned out feb vac around where you go and came to Marco Island, stayed at Hilton and went to Capri. How fun to see where we ate, took pics of all of this and saw Diesel come scootching out from under the hut!!We had Captain Sean take us out on the water and Randy fished and I saw the dolphins. If you see him some time tell him Randy and Patti from Iowa said Hi.We got home to our cows calving and have lots of black and white babies.
Oh sunshine and warm sand – I want some of that. Still snow on the ground here. Nella in that ruffled swimsuit? So sweet! And I love the mini cards, I am going to have to go check those out!
Looks fabulous and warm! We are still suffering through cold & rain here in Oregon. Holding out for some sun to come through here sometime in July!
Love the last picture of the two girls! So cute

You’re an awesome writer and photographer!
I’m just getting started and I hope my blog is as popular as your’s someday 🙂
Reading your blog has changed the way I’ve prepped for this baby. Less than 2 months til we meet our anonymous little one!
I read the story about the dolphin today at work and thought of you! Your mention of smelling coconut caught my attention too…one of my favorite things! LOVE Nella’s growth chart. I’ll have to check them out b/c I’ve been looking for just the right one for my guy.
Ok Mike is actually Kristin! Didn’t realize my hubby was signed in :o)
I have very found memories of my family on the beach – I can’t wait to make those memories with my family.
So ready for the warm weather, the sun came out today but my poor sick baby and I cuddled inside as I nursed her back to health.. ready for that warm warm sun bring it on!
Getting to the Isle of Capri is officially on my Bucket List.
What a wonderful feel good post! It snowed here today. Hopefully it’s the last snow of the season. I’m really over winter! I love Lainey’s little pig tails!! And that Nella’s Oh face…. Could just eat it up:0) Thank you for taking us to the Isle with you!!!
http://www.kansaspeaks.blogspot.com
Now…that beach looks like HEAVEN! What a beautiful family you have!
I’m really looking forward to days like but it’s still a bit too chilly here in SC. Soon though. Very very soon and we’ll be ready with our sun screen and buckets to conquer the beach.
I absolutely love the photos. You are great. They simply melt my heart. Mine need work to say the least. The growth chart is adorable. I’m sure I could find the perfect spot for that! Thanks for a great start to my week.
The last picture needs to be added to your wall…. It says it all. XO
I had NO IDEA the sand in Florida was so WHITE! I’ve never seen sand like that! Beautiful! 🙂
Here in N.J we are jealous of your time at the beach. Our beautiful beaches are still cold and grey. Looks like you had fun. Bret’ son got so big and handsome over the winter!
I woke up to heavy, slushy snow in Kansas City this morning — needless to say I was quite jealous of your weekend adventure!
I love Nella’s little bathing suit. I have been reading this blog for so long that as soon as I read about the dolphin in the weird news section in my local paper I thought about you guys.
I love our life and don’t get jealous very often, but I am allowing myself to feel a bit green with envy regarding your gorgeous beach time! Love it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
We live near a beach also and I have so many daydreams of someday taking our children there and watching/helping them explore the beach and make memories. You reminded me today why I want to wait to have children until I don’t have to work.
Oooooohhhh…I want to be there!!!!!!!!! 😉
Beach season for us still seems so very far away. We still see days of grey clouds, and raw, chilly winds. My first thought when looking at your beach pictures is, “I’m jealous!!” But, I’m not, really. Instead – they make me long for the sunny, hot, humid days that will be upon Long Island all too soon. (after our winter, I can’t wait!)
I love your blog, and your pictures!
Oh, the Isle of Capri – always love reading of your adventures there. I love how you are always creating great memories with your family..and the sense of discovery and adventure! Such a zest for Life. the giveaway sounds great!
My daughter had the famous “o” face too. Seeing Nella making hat face made me dig through photos of Olivia doing the same thing!!! Jealous that you live that close to a beach.
Your beach adventures sound so lovely. We live so far from it that we have hardly ever been, but perhaps we’ll need to make a trip this summer. Still lovin’ Nella’s “oh” 🙂
I am in love with Nella’s swimsuit!! Love memories, especially beach memories!!
Beautiful!! I’m cravin’ me some beach!
Ah, your pics make me so excited for summer! Love the warm and sunny days to come… along with our newest bundle of joy to be born the first week of August. Your pics just got me excited for the wonderful summer ahead of us! As always, the little ones look lovely!
Gorgeous as usual… my favorite shot is the first one of Nella with Daddy- that little pouty face of hers is so precious!
What a wonderful way to spend a day! Your girls are beautiful.
I came to your blog in a bit of a slump, hoping for some sunshine and lookie what I found! Thanks for your exuberant and jubilant zest for life. It never ceases to make me search for the small things to enjoy here and now. Love from a much windier and cooler place!
Your Capri photos are gorgeous and always make me jealous! We are way up in the cold north in Milwaukee where I was excited for a forecast in the 40’s this week, but moving to your old stomping grounds, MI, this summer. Sticking with the four seasons for now!
I love the last picture!! Happy Spring to your family.
We have to add blue food coloring (which we do nightly) to our bath water in order to swim in the deep blue sea like you lucky beach bums. For all those like us, stuck under 6 feet of snow, and the nearest ocean is an 8 hour drive…..try the food coloring. It’s soul therapy baby!
sooo jealous of your sunshine, I can’t wait for it to warm up here in VA so we can spend some time in the sun!
Oh my goodness the beach pictures are so cute. Our twin girls have never been! They would LOVE the growth charts for their upcoming first birthday.
Can’t wait to make some beach trips this summer with my girls!
I wish I were at the beach too…sooo lovely! Spring is just barely springing here…still too cold.
Love the last picture! I wish I could visit there someday 🙂
I LOVE Nella’s bathing suit – absolutely precious! 🙂
Oh, I wish you could bring that beach my way…looking out the window and still seeing snow 🙁
wish i could personally pull off nella’s swimsuit! so cute!!
Love the growth charts! I’ve been wanting to get one for my daughter, and I really like these.
Oh my goodness, it looks like y’all had a blast! Those pictures remind me of how I really need to get out of Idaho and get on the beach!!
melstevens1.blogspot.com
Love the pictures as usual! Wishing I could be on a beach somewhere… for now I’ll take our “warm” spring 50 degrees!
Ahhhh… sweet beach with sweet babes. I can smell the saltwater from here.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. 🙂
ah…I have to wait 5 more months before a trip to the beach! After seeing your photos I want to go now!! I think it’s time to move to FL 🙂 Will you share your Isles of Capri with us 🙂
Polka dot bikinis, Isle of Capri days, Nella standing so big by her chart, Lainey’s gorgeous lashes and that gorgeous shot o the girls at the end that would give coppertone a run for its money…beautiful! love this post! love those charts! gotta get my friends little peanut one of those!
My favorite picture is of Lainey making the fish face in front of the Fishhouse. That child is so expressive and I can completely envision her as the little heroine of a children’s picture book series.
Thank you for sharing little glimpses of sunshine from your world.
We too wonder what memories we are leaving with our children as we live here in another country. Will they remember the adventure of traveling? Just the adventure that life can be in China? Speaking another language? Or just that where ever, we are a family enjoying life to the fullest together.
love nella’s bathing suit!
these capri posts make me want to pack up and move our family from frigid MN. really, what amazing memories they’ll have. my kids’ will be of 10 ft. snow drifts and ice storms. blurgh. memories, nonetheless.:)
The Isle of Capri– yay!!! Hope for sunny days and saltiness to come. Hope you had a margarita for me! Jen
Mmmmmm!Sand…sun…fresh Gulf grouper!! o jealousy!
I can feel the heat on my back and taste the salt on my tongue as you recall your day at the Isle! You make me want to capture all my good days on film! Thanks
treeclimbergirl
Beautiful! My son was born on the 4th. I cannot wait to make fantastic memories like these with him.
The beach “oh” is priceless! 🙂
Isle of Capri always looks divine! Love it when you post about going there!
I’m hoping to start a summer tradition with my girl this year. It’s been a rough couple of years, we both need a week to make nothing but happy memories.
You make me want an Isle of Capri near me. And I guess I have one. it’s just mountains instead of beach. 🙂
Oh how I love to see your girls together. The sister bond they have is unique and special.
Love Nella’s blue ruffled suit!
One of these days I will visit that Isle of Capri you love so much. And when I do, if you happen to be there, I will walk up and say hi. Hopefully you wont think I am a stalker 😉 xoxo

Love the beach memories! Newport Beach will forever have a piece of my heart, as that was our summer girls’ spot. Oh, how I cherish those memories. Your girls will remember! 🙂
Super cute growth chart! Love it!
Omgosh, I love her O face! So cute! That growth chart is really cute too!
Happy Monday Hamptons!
the beach looks wonderful!
What a wonderful way to spring forward!
My husband and I will be vacationing in Marco next month. I have been there several times and never knew of this little gem. We will absolutely be visiting Isles of Capri this time when we are there. Can’t wait to experience your magical place first hand. It sounds phenomenal!
I think I need to move to Florida!
Also, Nella’s suit is adorable – where did you find it?
Your beach pics are making me happy and warm! I can’t wait to spend our days on the beach in less than 3 months…just have to get through March first. It’s a tough one – the worst of them all!
Beautiful photos! Makes me want summer bad!
ohhhh to go to the beach so easily! i wish!!!! i miss it. thanks for the adventure in pics
I love your photos. I know you’ve mentioned that you use Lightroom to process, but do you have any advice on books or classes to get you started. I’ve taken a few at my local photog store, and it only succeeded in making me more confused! Thanks for the daily photo inspiration and helping me remember to “grab the camera” – my little man won’t stay little forever, and I don’t want to forget his perfection!
Crazy! Just decided to finally look up where Isle of Capri is…it’s just down the road from my husband’s family’s place in Redington Beach! SMALL WORLD!
Love, love, love the beach pictures!! Miss it so much! Hopefully we will be going soon too:)
We have a bit to go until we are having beach weather. Your pictures give me something to look forward to!
OMG- I totally thought “Isle of Capri” was a made up name for a section of a public beach until I saw the tiki hut sign and realized it’s probably the real name! oh well. . .
yayyyy for vacations to the Isle of Capri! I’m happy that spring is here too!
Simply wonderful!
Oh, how I love that growth chart! I have been looking for one for my little girl(who is now 2!), and just need to get one. This would be just perfect 🙂
so cute! my girls would definitely love them some petite lemon prints!
OMG does this post make me want to pack up and move to Florida even though I hate super hot weather and humidity. It looks so inviting.
I definitely need to get one of those adorable growth charts for my baby girl and her soon-to-be here brother:)
That Nella get’s cuter every day!! And she now has more hair than my husband!! hee hee!! I can’t get enough of her smile!!

Yes! The return of the Isles posts!!!! I love ’em!!!! Esp since we were able to visit last year to your beloved spot. It’s so tranquil, peaceful and bursting with love. Can’t wait to return this summer!
We went skiing here in Ontario. Flordia seems wonderful, hopefully one day my family can check out your beach.
Love all the beach pictures….can’t wait till the snow is gone here in WNY and we can wear some bathing suits and play outside!
So super cute! I do love me some mini’s too!
Love hearing about fun in the sand and surf! It is so dreary up in the midwest. Thank you for sharing your wonderful family memories!!!
Love these beach photos! & the ruffle bathing suits are just too stinkin’ cute!
I just want you to know, I’m not jealous of your amazing weather in March… at all. Not one bit.
okay, fine. Maybe a little bit.
That blue swimsuit looks great on Nella! I think blue is her color!
What a crazy story about the dolphin! Thankful to hear that the dolphin and the woman are fine.
I think it is wonderful that you’ve found a favorite family spot to make memories. Every family needs a special spot!
I am in love with the last couple of pictures of Lainey and Nella side by side, enjoying the beach. It gives my heart a happy little flutter to see sweet sibling moments because in a few months, I’ll be witnessing some first hand. I’m looking forward to more Isle of Capri posts!
Your pictures make me wish that I was a beach person. 🙂
What a cute growth chart! Love seeing the beach pics as all I see out my window is lots and lots of snow.
SO jealous that it is warm enough for the beach – we saw some snowflakes today! The beach is my therapy…
Love all the pictures like always. Wish I could be at the beach too! 🙂
Beautiful pictures. I can’t wait to take our little guy to the beach!
I can’r wait for beach weather around here…I am in the Northeast so we have quite a while to go. But my girls love the beach as well as do I…Though our beaches aren’t quite as nice as some of those in Florida!! Beautiful pics!!
How do you ma every word that comes out of your mouth inspiring? Love this so much!
I was so close to naming my daughter Nella and when I googles her name your site came up. I now have a perfect Brinlee running around because I think there’s already a perfect Nella.
As usual–a great post. Thanks for making me jealous on this rainy day in Washington state. 🙂
I love Nella’s animal print hat!! so cute!
Love that last picture! Nella is an amazing girl. 🙂
I think this looks like the perfect place for our summer vacation! The girls look like they had a perfect day full of so many memories. The perfect way to spring forward!
chasing the baby sea turtles, running from the crabs we think are chasing us, naptime under the umbrella with our sweet little man, watching daddy and son jump the waves together, and looking through sqinty eyes at the man you love because you’re enjoying this peaceful time together.
**We have a measuring chart on the wall at home, our little guys loves getting measured. I’ll have to look into the fun filled chart Nella now has!
thanks for sharing 🙂
You are always so eloquent with your words and pictures. I feel giddy when I click on my favorites and you have a new blog post up. Someday I am going to take my husband and baby boy to the isle of capri…

I will one day visit your paradise. It looks AMAZING!
Wow, that is a really cool growth chart. I always love the things like that you post on your blog. 🙂
And as always I love your pics. Where did you get that cool shiny ball? I suspect the little one at my house would be really excited about that one. 🙂
Your beach pictures are such a welcome sight. It’s still winter in Utah. We will be taking our kids to the beach for the first time this fall and I’m already so excited! As for the Petite Lemon Prints, I was just showing their site to my husband the other day. Trying to hint that I want 1 or 2. Would love to win some 🙂
I am not jealous of much but I AM jealous of your Florida weather right now! 3 more weeks before I leave Michigan and head to the warmth baby! Love the growth chart and would love one for my little boy!
Love the ruffles! Happy Spring!
I want me some Isle of Capri too. Well, the Science Center and Zoo will have to do for us this week. Enjoy!

Hi Kelle,
I love Nella’s bathing suit in this post! I’m currently shopping for my niece’s first birthday – and I’m wanting to get her a VERY cute one 🙂 If you purchased it recently, do you mind sharing where you got it? My sister and I both read your blog all the time (she’s the loving mommy of three littles. And I’m the aunt to 14 nieces and nephews and always say that being an aunt is my favorite “job!”)
Thanks for being such an inspiration (and so much fun)!
Emily
Love the pics! I want to go to the beach:)
loving the beach photos from snowy Wyoming 🙂
The picture of little Miss Nella looking sooo big next to her chart just made my heart smile! I am loving watching her grow! My little one is 17 months, and I totally need to rock one of those on her wall. Thanks for the smile 🙂

Love the photos!! So precious!
Where oh WHERE did you get Nella’s little blue polka dot bathing suit? I am simply in LOVE with that suit! Your girls are adorable! 🙂
oh, so fun! now, for those of us living in LESS warm places {and still shopping for suits for our little ones}, do tell where you got your girls’ cute suits!? Adorable! And, a sleeping babe on the beach is one of my very, very favorite things!
The beach looks absolutely divine. What I wouldn’t give to lie in the white sand right now. Your girlies are as always absolutely adorable!
I’d love to take a nap on the Isle of Capri too 🙂
Nella standing at her growth chart is scrumptious!
Ahhh Church of the Holy Beach…stunning. We’re just waving goodbye to the last few days of summer in Melb. Can I suggest you check our Magic Beach by Alison Lester – so much like your Isle of Capri Aussie Style.
http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Beach-Alison-Lester/dp/1741757258/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1300160434&sr=8-2#_
The best part about the Isles is not the Isles itself but how it brings you together as a family – other than that it’s just a regular ol’ beach. Amen for turning it into something so magical!
I always get so giddy when I look at your pictures!!! Some day when I grow up I wanna be able to take pictures like you! LOVE IT !
Reminds me a a little beach restaurant in the Keys that my wife and I found when we visited years ago(pre-kids) and long to get back to soon. Counting the days in cold Ohio until we can consistently see the sun again. Thanks for sharing. Dad support from Ohio sent your way!
that nella and her adorable, “oh”. i could just kiss that baby!!! simply precious! i live far from the beach… but your isle makes me wish i could visit! <3
Nella’s swimsuit is too cute. Where is it from?
The beach OH is the best OH yet.
i LOVE your updates!!!! where oh where did you find that sweet swimsuit for Nella? I need that for my little miss!!!! 🙂
I look out the window at the swath of white snow that covers the entire lawn and much of the trees and I am utterly envious….I wish I had been on that pontoon.
We’re a couple of months away yet from frolicking on our beaches here in Kelowna, BC. Can’t wait for our turn!
I LOVE Nella’s swimsuit! And I love how Lainey has grown into her’s from last year. So so sweet!
Love the glipse of Poppa and Gary.
We are gonna have to come check out this special place!

I must admit, I am a sucker for that “oh” face!
I could use some of that Isle of Capri sunshine right about now! Bee stings & all! Such an amazing tradition to share with your family.
I lived in FL until I was 8 and never saw it the way your photos make it look. I never appreciated it. Thank you for opening my eyes.
Happy Spring forward!

i can never get enough of the pictures of nella but now the pics of nella in that sweet blue polka dot swimsuit…so precious!!! omg she is so beautiful!
Okay the dolphin story is crazy! What was he thinking? I guess he got a little sick of swimming and decided to try out this boating thing?
I have never heard of the Isle of Capri. Looks like a nice peaceful place to bring little ones and get away!
Ohhh, are you sure you wouldn’t need myself and 3 yo triplets to come with on your next venture?? *sigh* 😉
What fun! I wish we were there with you, I almost felt like we were! =)
I must say that I am jealous of the fabulous Isles of Capri. You are one lucky girl! Nella really seems to be changing a lot lately and Lainey always seems to be so full of wonder!

And the girls in pigtails with sandy toes….oh, can’t get enough!
Beautiful photos!! And while it’s somewhat sunny in my CA backyard, it’s nothing like your Isles. Love it!!!
I love the beach.. It opens my soul and there is something so beautiful when a baby feels and hears the ocean for the first time running from the water and squealing when it catches them.
Nella’s polka dot blue bathing suit…darling..of course anything she has on is so cute…I’d love this is for my little Sophie…any ideas where I can find it…she’s one week younger than Nella..Thank you for making me smile everyday…We all had a Yea moment for Nella’s Standing milestone…

Oh, how I crave a beach trip! Thanks for satisfying me vicariously…
Maura
Thank you for your beautiful pictures and words! They make me dream of summer, still far away here, but at the same time remember the little things right here. 🙂
Amazingly, the last week or so, Georgia has been making “oh’s” with her mouth, just exactly like Nella! I am going to try and get a photo and email it to you – absolutely gorgeous!
thanks for the little glimmer of sunshine- nothing but rain here in Portland OR- a warm beach sounds wonderful right about now!
Thanks for the glimpse of summer from the other side of the country… it makes me excited to have our own sunshine-y days out here in Oregon and the ability to let my little one dig his toes into the sand (for the first time!).

You definitely are making it hard to resist the temptation to drop everything and fly to the Isle for a nice relaxing day…or week…or month! 🙂 Love your post, as always!
Your pics make me itch for spring! 🙂
I think your girls will have the most beautiful memories of their childhood, indeed. But should the chance arise that anything might begin to slip their memory, your stunning photos are sure to bring them right back in a vivid recollection. No doubt complete with the sound of crashing waves, the feeling of sun and sand on their skin, and the giggles floating on the seashore breeze.
best grouper fingers ever! can’t wait to come back this summer and bring my little boy! we’ll be looking you up for sure! love from nashville!
The last picture is love…sand and saltwater between their toes…two sisters sharing as only sisters can without saying a word…simply being…your hearts.
We have a trip planned to the keys in June, your pictures are making me super excited for it!
These beachy pictures brighten our rainy SC day!
I’m ready! I’ll meet you there next weekend!!!

Kelle, you’re such an amazing writer! Seriously.
And I didn’t get a chance to comment on Nella’s big girl moment from the last post! Way to go, big, strong Nella 🙂
XOXO,
Angie from Ohio
That growth chart is adorable! I just love the picture of your girls sitting on the beach together!
I am so envious of your crazy, yet fun-filled life which includes beach trips that do not require a 5-6 hour drive & hotel fees!! 🙂 You rock all there is to rock & love reading about your life.
Jess
this was just the sunshine I needed to see. thanks!
I am so jealous every time you do an Isle of Capri post. I really wish we had a place like that around here. And, I love love love the beach, but live nowhere near one so it is nice to see the pics!
Loving these trips you take the Isle of Capri. With no jealousy, of course!:)
And loving your new sponsor as well! My best friend (whose daughter is my almond-eyed daughter’s soul sister) just had a beautiful baby boy and I think I might find something on this website for him:)
Enjoy your week!
Love,
Angela from Dallas
Looks like an amazing Sunday. Beautiful pictures – they will stir some amazing memories for your girls down the road.
I was thinking this morning about a growth chart for my 18 month old! I love this!
We live very close to the beach in RI..and your post makes me want to ensure we enjoy it more. Still cold up here, but the warmer weather is coming…I hope!!!
Loving your isle of capri. Oh, how I wish I was a car ride away from that magical place. Also, loving Nella’s suit…it is adorable!!
There is something so sweet and adorable about chipped polish on tiny piggies in the sand.
Pretending I am on vacation this morning as I drink my coffee on the porch!
This post may be the reason I move to Florida once I finish school. I’m so jealous that you can just go to the church of holy beaches whenever you want….so not fair! Love your girls though…they are too cute for words!
I always like to see pictures of Brett’s sons included in a post, but my favorite picture this post is the one of you carrying Lainey at the edge of the water. She is laughing and looks so incredibly, unequivocally *happy*.
Adele
Beautiful pictures! Hope you foot is okay! The last picture of Lainey and Nella from behind on the beach: priceless, sisters by chance…to love and protect each other forever!

I am so loving this post, everything about it is beautiful, but my fav are all those pics of the girls together, playing, snuggling, just being with each other, they are just the sweetest thing! I need to visit this isle of capri, my babies would so fit in there, I swear my boys are part fish and my girl is convinced she is part mermaid! Enjoy your week and that fab family of yours!
Makes me want to head to the beach this weekend!!
I think this weekend I will get out and go find my Isle of Capri. Heaven knows I need an escape. I adore the pictures, and I know the girls will hold many memories from these days.
Still waiting for spring to appear in Chicago – This isle of Capri post is just what we need to tide us over until it arrives!
As usual, your blog has inspired me to take more and better pictures of my now six-week-old little. Thank you.
I’m living vicariously through you today as it is cold and raining where I live. Your beach photos are so warm and inviting!
Love the blog, love Nella, and love the Isle of Capri! Our “church” is an awesome park, not too far from our house…

I love the photo of Nella’s sandy foot!!! Baby feet aew so squishable 🙂
Reading your blog makes me want to move to Florida. And I live in San Diego which is also amazing, but you just make florida look so fabulous!!
I am longing for the beach! And my son needs a growth chart because he’s growing like a weed!!
Those prints are so cute! I grew up going to The Church of the Holy Beach. Ours, here in SC, was only accessible by boat making every trip an adventure 🙂 Don’t worry, they will remember.
My soul is warming up just looking at your Capri pictures. Now I just wish our weather up here would warm up so that it could be total body experience. That last picture of your girls on the beach is absolutely frameworthy.
ohmygoodness I know officially have spring fever…and I’m a snow-lover!
I guess your blog has really become immersed in my life…as I saw the news story about the Dolphin jumping aboard the ship on the isles of Capri last night, and thought…wow, I wonder if the Hampton family saw that! Thanks for allowing us all into your lives, and as a new mom, I love reading all your tales of mom hood. You give me inspiration to be a better mom!
Those charts are beautiful!
I get so jealous that you are having fun family weekends on the beach in March! we are ready for warmer weather here in Ohio!
LOVE all pictures..such a beautiful family!
Ahh! Just seeing that bee corpse makes me feel like my foot is swelling! Note to self, “If ever on holiday at Kelle’s Isles, bring epi-pen.” LOL Still, I would love to be able to enjoy beach weekends at the Isles on a whim! Enjoy your lovely life & please continue to share through your beautiful pictures and words!
I just love reading your blog…so much fun and I get so excited for my MN winter to be over.
Kelle: What a Beautiful trip! We love dolphins and we are going to Xel Ha ( a paradise near Cancun) with our beautiful baby daughter for dolphin therapy on April. We’re so excited and can’t wait.
I wish I was at the beach. How peaceful and serene it looks. As always thank you for your blog. It’s truly uplifting.
Look at those beautiful white sand beaches….perfection. That last picture is priceless.
Nella looks so cute standing against her growth chart!
Nella makes the BEST faces! I always enjoy your Capri photos so much. Soothing, even all the way up here in Michigan. XO
Your pictures are, as always, so wonderful! I am so envious of you enjoying the beach as we are still stuck in 4 feet of snow 🙁 Dreaming of a sun filled get-a-way soon! Love Nella’s little blue ruffled bathing suit – so cute!
ahhh how I long for a visit to Florida. Its cold and rainy here in Portland and I am dreaming of sand in my toes, warm water and cute bathing suits.
Beautiful photos, as always! Dreaming that I’m there instead of stuck in the cold and almost rainy day.
mkdaiger(at)gmail(dot)com
Great post! We live in Texas, but it’s still not quite warm enough for the beach! Can’t wait to take my littles one there this summer 🙂
I was also looking through Petite Lemon Prints’ website…LOVE! So many adorable things!
I saw this on our local news all the way in MN!!! Underneath the interview it said “Isle of Capri, FL” and I was like, I Know That Place!!! I felt like a VIP knowing that story before the news…great stuff!
beautiful beach pictures… I admire your talent!
…and i would love to win the $50 gift certificate! 🙂
I love reading your beachy posts. So happy and loving and fun! Helps me escape dreary Ohio for a bit and dream of our one week a year visit to the beach. It can’t come soon enough this year!
Beautiful pictures. I love the close up of Nella’s toes on the wood in her bathing suit. Sweet tunes as well!
These are some great memories for your family. We live only 30 minutes from Ocean City NJ and I am so jealous you are at the beach already. It is in the 30s here.
Oh, I totally have spring fever now! Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures!
Outrageously jealous of your family beach time, and loving the growth chart. You have a way of sharing the loveliest sponsors with us! This is a good find.
You inspire me so much! I’m placing an order for my first DSLR this week. I’m so excited. Love reading about the babies. And I love Nella’s new growth chart. So cute!!
Oh how I would love to visit this place!!!! It is on my list!!:) Beautiful pictures, precious kiddos!!!
I’m glad the dolphin was ok!
Ohh, I soak in your posts, especially these kind! Sitting here in cold, rainy Ohio patiently (ok, impatiently) waiting for the Spring weather that has already graced your little corner of the States!
Your pictures are always wonderful. I love your swim suit cover up/dress. Makes me wish I was at the beach!
Mmm. I grew up on the Atlantic and now live in Montana. I never really missed the beach until now…My son would love it on the isle of Capri… Maybe some day!
Happy Spring to you and your family!
it’s almost beach time here in california and I really cannot wait!
The growth chart is adorable. I just might have to get one!!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Love looking at all your pictures! It’s nice to read a blog that includes fabulous pictures to gander at while reading. I feel like I’m there when I read your blog 🙂
I can’t believe it! KABC news here in Fullerton Ca just ran the dolphin story Isle of Capri Fla!!!! I looked at my Mom and she was like…what? Deja Vu for me because I just read it here the other day!
small world!
“We stashed another jar of beach memories onto our ever-growing shelf in our Isles of Capri cellar.”
I love this sentence. I want to somehow change it around so that it fits my latest adventures and use it… somewhere. Even if it my journal.
You are such a gifted writer! Looking forward to your book one day! When will that happen???
That Isle of Capri looks like a magical place. I have to say I am jealous as I sit in my cubicle in rainy, cold Ohio. 🙂
Cute growth chart, btw!
Oh, how I miss the beach… the sun in the skin, the salty lips, the sound of the waves. Love it!!
I would’ve been joining Nella in that beach nap! The warmth of the sun, the smell of salt & sunscreen, the sounds of the ocean waves…sounds like the perfect doze session.
The girls’ swimsuits are adorable & your gorgeous Kelle!!!
Ahhh, thanks for the mini vacation through your pictures!! I am so jealous! The pictures of the girls together on the beach ALWAYS bring a smile to my face.
I love it! It makes me so beachsick and homesick but happy …all at one time! Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Your pictures make me glad that I live five minutes from the beach! Here we go…
Could Nella be any cuter, standing next to her growth chart?!
Growth Charts are so fun! My daughter has one .. would love one for my son too 🙂 Enjoy your day! XOXOX
I love that “oh” face, makes me smile everytime!
Can you believe we woke up to snow in the Midwest?! Ugh. I’m so jealous 🙂
Not sure if I’m too late, but I’ll comment anyway. Love the blog, love your photos, love your story. Blessings!
Ciao!
I’m glad the dolphin and the boaters are ok!!! And I LOVE the growth chart! I’ve been thinking of making something like this for a while.
p.s. check out this video – you’ll laugh (the title is FDA Approves Depressant Drug For The Annoyingly Cheerful)

I’d love growth charts like that for both of my kids! I’ve been on a hunt for one I love and now I’ve found lots!
We are expecting our first little one in May. He was diagnosed with DS at 16 weeks, and me and my hubs LOVE your BLOG. I think I’m gonna order one of those growth charts to match our room decor. VERY cute. =)
I would love to have this. My little is measuring 30 inches at 4 months. Its amazing and I would love to be able to keep track of this.
Diane- Chicago
I’m visiting my family in Naples this summer and dragging them out to Isle of Capri- I hope I get to finally meet you after reading this long! 🙂
Not sure if I left a comment yet or not. I love the growth chart and I am looking for one for my little Lucy Goosey. I love the pics of Lainey and her daddy fishing. Brett seems like a fabulous dad.
I love the pictures of Nella in her blue polka dot bathing suit 🙂 and im SO jealous you guys get to wear your bathing suits this time a year LOL
You are such an inspiration Kelle! I wish I had sand between my toes!
This post makes me dream of summer!!! If I’m even in your area I think Isles of Capri will definitely be on my to-do list – looks like the best day!!
Totally missing summertime after seeing all these awesome pics! There is still snow on the ground here!!
Were taking my Mom on a family vacation to Orland to celebrate her 60th at the beginning of May and will be making a much anticipated overnight trip to this Isle of Capri that you rave so often about! Can’t wait!
Sigh…wish I was on the beach right now! Love the growth chart!
Oh you do wonder what they’ll remember but more importantly these experiences shape who they are!! Thats my favorite part of making memories!!
You’ve made me so want to visit the Isle of Capri–add it to the BUCKET LIST!
I LOVE Nellas teeny blue bikini. I also LOVE that cute growth chart. I’ll have to check out that new sponsor and then go take a nice nap and dream about warm beaches and cold beer!!

O, I just LOVE that ‘O’ face 🙂
your girls are soooo cute. its rainy here today in california & your pics have taken me to tropical island in my heart. love it…feeling very warm 😉
I honestly thought the first picture was of snow! I love how cute the girls look in their little swim suits. I’m expecting my first little one (we’re going to be surprised on boy/girl!) and I can’t wait to start these kind of traditions with my kids. 🙂
Love, love, love that “Oh” face. So adorable!!
I love the picture of the pelicans.
The Isles of Capri looks like a blissful place.
Lainey and Nella are as beautiful as always.
xo
Where are the magical Isles of Capri? Do you happen to know if there’s a way for me to snap my fingers and end up there? No? Oh well…it was worth a try.
Your girls are SO cute in their swimsuits! The weather here is finally warming up – can’t wait for swimsuit season!
I loved what you wrote about memories and it really made me pause and think about all the moments with my kids and the memories they’ll have. You all looked like you had a great time, and the bathing suits on the kids so cute and that height poster adorable.
I could soooo imagine being on the Isles of Capri right now. I need to get away…and this is just what I needed! Thanks for the post! And I love the beach “OH” that Nella is sportin’! The girl has it down!!
So sweet. I love the oh face,
My goal is to find my family our own isle of Capri..so thank you for that:)
Paradise! Sigh!
i have been reined your blog for quite sometime now, i just have to say i love your family and how you so openly invite us into your life.
I hope the bee didn’t sting you when you stepped on it!
My parents just bought a lake house and I keep dreaming about the things my little girl will do there and the stories she will tell when she is older. It will be our own Isle of Capri…in Michigan. 🙂
Your photos in this post are amazing…there is something about being outside on the beach that sure does spark up some great pictures!
I just adore that little swim suite Nella is wearing. Darling!
I am missing the beach now more then ever… I get to go in a month, and I am counting the days!
Those cards are the cutest! If I don’t win, I may just have to go over and force myself to take advantage of that 15% discount 😉
I love, love seeing the beach adventures of your littles….they are so precious!! The beach is my all time favorite place in the whole world and I love the adventures you post about. I actually heard the dolphin story on the news this morning.
Lovely, as always! Looks like an amazing place.
i love this blog. such a joy to read and always brings a smile to my face. and always makes my baby dance because he loves to groove to any music he hears. i hold on to (and hope he will too) the memories we make every day…going to the park…staring at ourselves in the mirror…making puppets in the shadows. it’s all the little things that make life so enjoyable.
I’ve been looking for a growth chart for my girl and I think I’ve found the place to get it!
and where do you get the cute bathing suits for the girls? I have spring fever up in New England and am dreaming of days by the lake.
lovely post as always. Makes me wish I had an Isle of Capri.
i just wanted to tell you that you have the best music taste.
i am always looking for new music.
so not only do i enjoy your blog, i enjoy discovering new music through you.

So sweet. And those growth charts are so perfect–I’m getting one for my 3 year old niece for her birthday in May for SURE!
yup, just saw on the news about the dolphin on the boat! National news, it did make it all the way to Vancouver,BC =) nice!
Love the pictures, makes me want to take a trip to the beach.
so jealous of the beach trips. we have all the heat here in las vegas but none of the beautiful blue water. excited to take my baby swimming for the first time though. she will be 2 weeks old on friday, she has down syndrome and the most perfect soft olive skin like her sister (hope she tans like her too). thanks for your blog, it has been so helpful for me. mostly to see how beautiful nella is =)
I long for the day that we can bring my daughter to the beach… That’s a milestone I’m watching for!
after a dreary day in ATL that included the dentist office to fix a broken tooth, a haircut that will be cute…eventually… This post just warmed my heart. Naps on the beach, flying dolphins. Perfect. That song, Beautiful Day by Coldplay (NOT U2) came rushing in my mind.
…me and the boy did wear our Dickersons today.
and by Beautiful Day by Coldplay, I actually meant, Beautiful WORLD. Incredible.
and by Beautiful Day by Coldplay, I actually meant, Beautiful WORLD. Incredible.
Long time reader, first time poster. I think this is THE one I chose to comment on because it’s so positive and sweet and reflective of how I feel as a mother: careful to enjoy the present, while aware of the passage of time and the memories I am creating for my Little.
I absolutely love seeing pics of the girls together, it completely makes me melt. The lifelong love and friendship of siblings is a beautiful thing.
Your pictures always brighten my day, especially on the long, dark days we often have here in Minnesota!
My mom took me to this spring-water lake in Mississippi when I was a child. I have so many great memories swimming in the freezing cold water, hanging out with friends, and falling asleep hours earlier than usual because we played so hard. I am taking my husband to visit my childhood happy place for the first time over the fourth of july weekend. I am so excited to share this part of my life with him.
I cannot get enough of sweet Nella. Keep the Ilse’s coming cause we enjoy em’ here in Alabama!
I’d like a one way ticket to the Isle of Capri, Please (&thank you). I can’t even remember the last time I saw the grass outside my window….woe is me. – jill jones
I need an Isles of Capri! I love making memories for the kiddos, but like you I hope their memories of family are as wonderful as I’m trying to make them.
Carey
I always knew you were cool, but now that I can hear your musical choices, you are that much cooler.
I adore that ruffle swimsuit and that cute set of toe-head sisters! I live how the growth chart also acts as a decoration! Thanks for the find 🙂
Love. What a beautiful day for a beautiful family.
I love how Nella sits with her legs in a V and grabs her toes. It’s just too precious. Wish I still had that flexibility.
that first picture of nella and brett looks like she’s drinking in the daddy love, and i love it.
how i wish we were living somewhere warm right now. Minnesota needs SUNSHINE> love your posts. your fam is beautiful!
such a cute post!! I love that you have a place to be free and happy 🙂
You are making me dream of summer! Beautiful pictures of your beautiful girls.
Denise WI
I am so looking forward to finding my families special place for making memories. The Isle of Capri looks like a lot of fun for the whole family.
Thank you for sharing the like to Petite Lemon Prints I’ve been looking for a cute growth chart and their stuff is adorable!
It reached a whole 60 (ish) degrees here in Utah today and we ventured out to the park. Not quite as glamorous as the beach, but I can dream!
xox
Just reading your “isle” posts puts me in the bestest moods and makes me wanna be there like NOW!! LIKE YESTERDAY!! Happy days! Happy lives!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Once again, just adore all your pictures. My favorites this post are- the beach “Oh” face and the one of Nella where Brett is holding her arms and she looks like she is walking. Actually, I can picture her lifting her legs and moving them forward, but more of in a “splat” than a step, like babies do sometimes when they are first learning to walk.
And my YS used to do the “O” face too, usually when he said “ElmO” and he would hang on to the “O”. He’s 18 months old now and doesn’t do the “O” anymore 🙁
I’m so envious of your lovely Isle trips! I want to soak in that sun, and melt away on those beaches!! I also LOVE the growth chart– would be perfect to watch my 6month old babe grow up way too fast!!
Love that growth chart! My Addie needs one of those! 🙂
Love all the beach pictures! Makes me wish I was there!
The beach Oh face totally the best one yet!!
Beach days are back. Can’t wait to take my own little to the beach when it makes its arrival in late August.
I love Nella’s napping picture. Just precious.
LOVE, everything!
Makes me wish I could run to our favorite spot in Maine, Pemaquid Point. Alas, it’s an 8 hour ride…can’t wait for the warmth to hit us here in NY!
I keep telling myself I’m ok with winter, I’m a New Englander, I can tough it out…. but I see your nearly year-round beach pics and I am SO incredibly jealous! Glad you are back to your Sunday Ritual at your happy place 🙂
Had to let you know that my little bodunk town in Tennessee reported your dolphin story on the radio as I drove to work yesterday. . .small world, eh?
In addition to the memories of their time – they will have the beautiful pictures to go with them!
Oh how I love the growth chart, and the Isles adventures! My childhood is full of similar memories that involve as much nature (Pennsylvania mountain hiking and Canadian cottage country lake swimming, in my case) as family love.
love the last picture the best–sisters, side by side!
Your posts completely make me swoon. Between the writing and the photographs, I am sailing away in my mind to warmer climates, and sand between my toes. Blissful!!
These images make me want to pack up and fly to Ft Lauderdale and bask in the warmth of the sun. We are ready to crack 70 degrees this week, and with it brings the promise of flower buds, chirping birds, and earthworms.
I love this post (and your new header, gorgeous!). We have a place we take our kids in the summer (it’s a long, long time until beach weather here in Maine; it’s snowing right now) and no matter whether we go for 2 hours or an entire day, it’s a place that we just love. I can’t wait to go back this summer.
I love Nella’s beachy Oh face! It just makes me smile.
And I would really like a growth chart for the littles I hope to have soon…
SO beautiful! Some of my favorite memories are summer vacation at the beach. Wonderful memories that may me dream of spring even before the snow starts to melt…
Gorgeous photos, as always. Wish we had an Isle of Capri around here! Our little town’s river will have to do. 🙂
Got my daily dose twice, here at this post, this week.
Gotta show hubby!
Thanks dearest Kelle.
I so want to move to Miami, the longong to go there whas never stronger than now.

Love the Beach Oh face!
Sounds like my type of place…

This is my first time commenting… but about my 100th time peeking at your amazing blog.
You are wonderful. I am always inspired by your wonderful words, great photography, darling baby girls and your super cute sense of style (Post more picts of your clothes… we don’t have much to choose from here in Utah!!! I get great ideas from you:)
Thanks again!!! You are always my sunny side of the day!
Our newly adopted infant would benefit from the crafty yet oh so adorable growth chart!

This is so cool! I’ve been following your blog for over a year now (I’m a follower from Canada) and this week my family is vacationing in the Tampa area. I just did a quick Google Map search and see that the Isle of Capri is not so far away – I think we will definitely be making the trip there on Friday! I can’t wait to visit a place I’ve heard so many wonderful things about from my favourite blogger – yay!!!
Nella’s growth chart is super cute!

I wanna go to the Isle of Capri 🙂 Love your beachy music … couldn’t hear my phone ring because of it … and that was just fine!!!
You have a beautiful family…and it’s so nice to see special memories captured by your photography.
Looks like Heaven!! Thanks for sharing. Can’t believe how old all the kids look – you are so much better than me at documenting everything. I am jealous of your sunshine and your photo abilities.
I clicked on all the linked posts, and I just have to say, I really want to go there some day!
It is so refreshing and beautiful to see the sun, beach, and bright swimsuits of your pictures while we’re still battling away the winter up in Saskatchewan! It brings happy tears to my eyes to see all of that happiness. I’m pregnant with our first and I dream of the things we will do with this child, the adventures we will take and the memories this little being will have and make.
Thank you for allowing my heart to glow a little brighter today 🙂
I want…. No… I need a blue and white polka dot swim suit.
The Isle of Capri looks so beautiful! I’m endlessly excited for the Spring and long, warm days. Amen!
so jealous of the fab beach life

Love Nella’s new growth chart, sooooo cute! Can’t wait till I have a little peanut to get one for!!
I keep forgetting to ask you to look for my signed dollar in the tiki hut. I left it there for the worker to staple up and want to make sure he did. It is supposed to be near Bubby and Dahna’s. Please check for me next time you are there!!!!!
Your photography is amazing [I have told you this before. :- ) ] My friend and I have bought the book you recommended and we are starting an amateur photography club together. I enjoy your eye for documenting your growing family; the pictures are fabulous. I have a grandson and I look forward to taking pictures of him as you do of your girls.
Smocking and ruffles and eurobungee jumps, oh my!! Way to go, Lainey! Celebrating the big milestone with Nella as well. I’m sure swiper is now in her happy place with tabletops to clear! Bravo for strong, brave girls!

All I can say is “Love! Love! Love!” Thanks for sharing some of your uplifting springtime with us… delightful!
I’m loving your shout out to the mitten!! (I’m still pretending it was Sparty on the cup though.)
1 in a 1,000 chances it’s me! I love that growth chart!
