I’ve added something to the Bucket List this week: Learn how to play guitar. Because as one-with-the-Earth and family bonding and bug-slappingly wonderful as our camping trip was, it would have been just a bit more proverbial (in the unicorns jumping over rainbows kind of way, of course) if there was a guitar at the campfire to complete the moment.
And everyone knows, as corny as Kumbaya and John Denver campfire songs are, there is no one cooler around a campfire than the chick who pulls the guitar out and starts strummin’. And everyone’s all, “Dude! You didn’t! You brought your guitar…Whoa!” It’s gonna be me someday. Of course, I’ll have some Tom Petty in my repertoire as well to keep it cool. Because sometimes unicorns like to rock.
So, camping was a hit.
Our friends John and Charlotte joined us with Austyn and Brandyn’s good friends, Ashford and Drake. Thankfully, we like them all a lot.
We’ve been camping here before, but it was Life Pre-Babies. There’s something fabulously full circle about coming “home” to a beloved place after babies. Like renewing your vows. We loved it once already but now we’re bigger and better, and setting up tents while watching your toddler play with twigs and balancing chubby baby legs around your hip while you’re flipping pancakes on the Coleman grill has a way of making you love it all over again…and then some. I do, I do. I do take thee, Campground, to be our lawfully wedded place of good times, again and again.
I love camp air–this dusty combination of loose dirt and thick gray haze from campfire smoke, and it’s rich with this earthy scent that strangely makes me want to wear plaid and chop wood and catch fish.
I like boiling water over the campfire and making coffee that tastes that much better for the effort. I like sipping cold beer out of a tin cup. I like pulling my babies this close to me under the sleeping bag to keep them warm and imagining that winds are howling outside and our tent and my arms is all that keeps us safe from the big bad storm.
Mostly though, I like being together and feeling for a moment like all that exists is us, some hot flames, and this peaceful place that pulls you a little closer to the earth and all it has to offer.
And as all good renewing-your-vows ceremonies go, let there be photos.
Have no idea what this picture’s about. No one was sleeping but strangely, everyone has their eyes closed…even the dog. Funny.
So, yes…if I had a guitar, I suppose I’d pluck out some sort of high-on-life song about now.
But, I have a fabulous new sponsor instead and a giveaway to go along with it.
Introducing, artist Mark Poulin. Mark is a metalsmith and enamalist and happens to have an incredible talent for creating fun conversation-sparking jewelry.
My favorites: my Tic Tac Heart earrings…
…and the family necklaces (can be worn as a set with one clasp or seperately as Lainey and I are wearing our Quadrapus).
Right now, mention “Enjoying the Small Things” and buy any three items and get a little charm necklace free. (offer expires December 6th).
Plus, Mark is giving away a $75 gift certificate to a random commenter on this post. Winner will be announced Wednesday.
And, one more attempt for solicitation. When we were kids, our homeschool group was selling M&Ms once for something–don’t remember what, but we used to stand outside grocery stores trying to sell boxes of M&Ms. It was boring and ridiculously cold in the winter, so someone got creative and made up this little jingle “Would you like to buy some M&M’s?” which we would sing and accompany our song by tapping candy boxes together. It was silly and slightly embarrassing but in that really cool this-is-kind-of-liberatingly-fun kind of way. Dude, people came by the droves to buy our M&Ms. The point of this story?
If I had a guitar and knew how to play it, I’d sing you a little jingle about voting for Enjoying the Small Things in The Bump polls. But I don’t. You can still vote until tomorrow night (and you can vote every day). Right HERE. Scroll down and click “Enjoying the Small Things.”
Hey, it’s Monday. It’s a holiday week. Somewhere it’s snowing (I hear Montana, eh?), and Brett just changed our garage radio that plays 24/7 to a Christmas music station. Good times, Man. Good times.

Kelle- I play the guitar. So here’s me sending campfire songs your way. ANd voting like it’s my job. You can thank me by posting lots of good Kelle Hampton posts this week, mkay?
I’m so excited to see Mark Poulin here! I’ve been a fan for years. π
Jenny V from MA
Amazing post. I tried to learn three years ago. But failed. hahahaha
Love the camping pics…..nothing better than coolerish (it is the Florida I know and love!) November and camping. I’m jealous! marissa
What adorable pics. I’m thinking of something new I want to learn too. I feel it’s about time I took on a new hobby. I can already play a couple of instruments, so I don’t think the guitar is the right hobby for me, but it sounds awesome. Good for you! Oh and we’d love to win the gift certificate as we know a family who is really struggling right now and our friends are trying to do what they can to brighten up their holiday. I think that this would be great for them. Thanks for the chance to win.
Looks like you had a blast!
I just wanted to let you know that the link to the voting isn’t working. Don’t want you to miss out on any votes because of a glitch!
Loved the camping pics. I so need a weekend like that!
I want to learn to play the guitar better too! Were you homeschooled? I was for several years! Beautiful photos as always. Amanda @ http://runninghood-amanda.blogspot.com/
Yet again…you made my Monday. I love the photos they are beautiful as always! π
I have voted every day except Saturday (when I was taking an AEPA test ALL day for my teaching license). Sunday I was sad when I saw someone pulled ahead of you in that short time. But you will catch up!
And I could so see you playing the guitar! Your wonderful Kelle!
Fixed it! Thanks, Lauren.
You had me at the second photo – what is it about a campfire that mesmerizes you so quickly?!
Your girls keep getting more and more beautiful! You have made me want to go camping now!
As a kid I always thought camping looked like so much work for the adults. Now that I’m an adult and have my own little one I have to believe it is all worth it!
I can’t wait to get her out there for some solid family memories! π
I know it! I want to be that girl someday, too, but the sad thing is I have tried time and again and I never stick with the whole PRACTICING thing. Because I want to be like Eric Clapton straight out the gate.
It is, indeed, snowing in Montana and this Montanan wishes it would stop and that I could enjoy some Florida weather! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
It’s snowing here as I type…love it! We’re all cozied up and watching Signing time, avoiding a trip to the grocery store…
Looks like a fantastic camping trip – you brave girl! And I love how the quilt makes a cameo in each post – it’s like spotting Waldo! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Libby
You’ve made my Monday so much more bearable with this post! Thank you!
I wish we had a radio station that played Christmas Songs already! Have a good week x
Wow, How did your little ones like camping? I can’t wait for my first camping trip with our little man. Also, The kite pictures were precious. π
Awesome pics, my family go camping at least 3 times a year, wish it was more. It’s a great way to bond even more with my kids and husband, cuddled all around the campfire the girls and I sing Hannah Montana songs while Dad tells us how dorky we are but in the end he starts singing along and knows all the words to the songs. π
I would love to buy 3 beautiful necklaces for my 3 beautiful nieces… and save the 4th for my little girl!
I am just jealous that you’re still able to go camping. I live in MT and you’re absolutely right…it is snowing here.
You make camping look like so much fun. I’ve only been camping once, as a kid. maybe I should give it another try π
This blog is a great resource for parents of special needs children. However, it’s also a great resource for parents like me, who have children without special needs. I look to you, Kelle, to inspire and motivate me. I look to you to help me suck the marrow out of life….and that’s just what I do, hug my kiddos tighter, and look at my life through rose colored lenses more often. I read Nella’s story for a gut wrenching cry that makes me feel renewed and ready to face my own challenges. So that is why you should win, “Best all around blog” award! Good luck!
,,,no guitar??? but nella had a tamborine!!! and i imagine she was making sweet music even if it weren’t the likes of john denver,,,so adorable she is,,,
I LOVE camping!!! Hope you, your family and friends enjoyed yourselves!
Camping and children just go together, don’t they? I have so many happy memories of camping as a child.
Food always tastes better outside, especially sausages. π
I’m now craving a camping trip. But snow is on the way here. I’ll just have to look at your photos and imagine I’m there.
englishlavendercrafts.blogspot.com
We were a camping couple before kids and now a camping family…love it! And now my husband has learned to play the guitar and you are right…something about being around a campfire screams for a guitar! Love it all!
happy turkey week!! enjoy your thanksgiving and your beautiful family!!
I agree with the previous posters. You make camping with two little ones look so fun and easy. We have a lot of camping gear, but I am not near brave enough for it yet!
Love that you want to play guitar. In Colorado, camping with a guitar is a must. I have a friend who actually has a backpackable guitar for such occasions. Colorado camping is a wee bit different from Florida camping, but the spirit of family and friends and dust mixed the pancake batter is the same. I do play the guitar and this post is a gentle nudge from God to pick it up again, as I have been meaning to for a while. Thank you and happy happy happy thanksgiving!!
Great pictures as always! Camping was one of the Biggest and Best memories I have as a kid.
Also if you want some snow there should be a way to send some down to you π I know Minnesota has lots to share right now.
Yes! I love this jewelry!! And snow?! Sure is here… Into -33C air…Eeeesh.
How fun! We have a little spot we love under tall Redwoods and nestled against a lazy little river. I love adding new memories of this place to the ones I have going there as a little girl myself. It’s like taking a trip in a time machine- climbing the very same giant tree trunk, with Darrin *hearts* Stacey carved big and bold on it. Oh, and I’m with you on the guitar- totally ups the cool anty. Go for it!
Love that even the dog had it’s eyes closed in that pic! Too cute!
it is snowing here.
Love camping! We took our son five times this summer, and are planning a long trip through the U.P. next summer. Can’t wait!
Love the earrings! It is snowing hardcore today in Washington state, and you spent the weekend camping. Amazing how a few thousand miles changes things.
I love camping and I cannot wait to camp with my future kids. The last picture is beautiful, love it! Those necklases are very cool.
How fun!! Nothing better than camping w the kiddos! (i have 4 boys…) I enjoy your blog with all the CUTE girlie stuff. And you always look so beautiful!! How do you do it???
well, I bet you could play a guitar and eat sugar donuts and slide down a rainbow.. Your FAQ section was very very funny…. I love camping.. it is a lot of work… but fun… love your photos as always. Have a great filling and festive thanksgiving.
Love camping….makes me want to round up my crew and head out for the county. Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos.
A Quadrapus??? What on earth! SO CUTE!!!!
beautiful pictures! and I would love some of that unique jewelry!
Oh camping. I wish I can have a camping moment too! We have two acoustic guitar players in the family- me & my Dad. My Dad taught me how to play and he also bought me a guitar named after me.
By the way you are a great photographer, you should consider publishing a photography book- you pictures are beautiful.
I used to play guitar and piano and the Mr. used to play the trumpet. I gave my guitar to my little brother when his band was on tour with Ozzy Osbourne a few years back. And the guitar never came back:-( The piano sits in the living room- aching to be played. It is so out of tune. I think it’s time to get it in order because there is nothing like growing up in a house where music- real live music- with real live instruments- is played.
currently my bucket list includes things that I want to learn to bake… I need to write them down tho… and add a few awesome things like playing guitar, making a quilt and swimming with sea turtles!
Have a wonderful week.
Ps. I hope I win! new jewelry always puts a smile on my face.
I remember camping trips with my bestfriends from highschool by remembering what songs were played on the guitar that year: so I for one believe in your playing the guitar dream.
– Vanessamae
Snowing in Maine… and holiday music and decorations are in place!! This will be our first holiday season as a family of four also, and we are so ecstatic.
we took the children camping all the time when they were young…now the next generation is going camping..love cooking outdoors..fires..my love plays the guitar …thank you for sharing your journey..
Love the photos from your camping trip! And thanks for opportunity to win!
So my S-I-L admitted to me, last night, that she is an official Kelle Hampton groupie. She sat down last night and plowed through more than half of your blog posts and declared to me that she is really interested in becoming craftastic with me! Ha! I love it!! We are totally making pine cone turkeys!
I voted! And I really wish I knew how to play the guitar too. Love your camping photos! Camping is over here…it’s snowing! Yay! Enjoy the holidays!
This is my first time commenting… I L.O.V.E reading your blog! I can’t wait for your book and love your beautiful children and your outlook on life. The first thing I do after coming home from work (I am an oncology nurse and some days can be pretty rough) I read your blog. You are amazing! Looks like you guys had a blast camping.
xoxo
P.S. I posted this same message on your other post by mistake LOL but I did vote π
Love your camping photos. We have an early winter this year and it’s very cold and windy here in Canada. I would definitely trade the snow on the ground for a weekend camping trip with palm trees! So fun!
ahh… the bliss of camping.
and then the bliss of a hot shower at home.
Life is all about perspective.
to you, I thank you!
i’m sure you could rock that guitar too!
It’s so weird to see ya all in shorts and CAMPING! Crazy. Our snow drifts are five feet deep right now. My friend couldn’t get out of her house. And it’s minus 30 degrees Celsius with wind chill. It does make it look and feel like christmas in the North Pole but it’s ironic that I have some yearning for your weather.
…And galoshes! I miss gumboots already!
Camping always makes you stop and love everything around you! Makes me want to go this weekend!
I’d love to give a Mark Poulin piece away for Christmas!
That jewelry is all so adorable!
Your girls are adorable! Also, give us some tips on haw to raise amazing sleepers like Lainey and Nella! My boy does not travel well! He LOVES his room and hates anything else!
love the jewelry! love the photos!
loving the octopus necklaces! And I got a guitar for christmas last year, now for finding the time to learn to play it between student teaching assignments…
I love Nella’s hat. It’s adorable. You guys truly are an inspiring family.
Since I live in MN, seeing camping this time of year makes it seem like you live a world away from me! We are getting freezing rain today-yuck! Love the new sponsor, cute jewelry!
Someday I will go camping again…someday…:).
great camping pics! and tho i would love to play the guitar, i would settle for re-learning how to play the euphonium (which i played a million years ago in high school). need a toasted marshmallow now too, thanks π
We too are a camping family. My favourite time of the year to camp is in the fall. Love the cold air and warm blankets.
I love the idea of renewing your vows with a favorite place. It looks like you had such a fabulous time camping! Good luck learning to play the guitar!r
I went camping with my 9-month-old while my husband was deployed. Never again; it was a nightmare. Kudos to you for doing it!
Your pictures are breathtaking. It’s so sweet of you to share something so sacred and obviously very important to you with all of us. I love it!! π <3
So glad your camping trip was a hit! Ours was a disaster BUT we laughed the entire time so I guess it was not a disaster totally! Imagine rain for the entire time, mud and forgetting important medicine that you have to drive home to get it and decide its not worth going back to the camp to sleep! LOL I love your pictures and how you tell a story through them! π
love love LOVE that you took the fam camping!!! I love to do the same with ours….but since we live in Colorado, I sleep in the back of the Tahoe with the babies while my husband sleeps alone in the tent…cuz I’m afraid of the BEARS!!! π I also love the new artist and his jewelry – super cute!
Love the pictures! Lainey’s checkered dress is darling. : )
OH…My family camped a lot as a kids. Brings back memories. I guess I should get out there and do it with my daughter. Great pictures.
dude i’m not even a camper but your pictures made me want to buy a tent and teach my kids that it’s okay to not bathe for three days and to eat only marshmallows for breakfast lunch and dinner. looks like fun!
there are a few pics here that may be my fav eva…
nella in the tent
lainey’s little juice stained mouth close up w/necklace
and a few others
muah Kell!
oh, i loooove camping & can’t wait to take our son with us!! lucky for us, my husband is a great musician & we love having him play around the campfire! you’re welcome to join us on our next camping adventure!! π
Not just snowing, but friggin’ cold!!! Check out the thermometer reading on today’s post…
We never got around to camping this summer even though we kept saying it was something we had to do. Your pictures make me miss it so much, I think I may have to go and book our camping spot now for next summer.
I’ve been voting daily! I love your blog.
I also love camping. Camp fires. The smell of camp fire on all your clothes after you get home. Mmm. We’re going camping this weekend!
The camping pictures made me really want to go camping but then I looked outside here and saw the snow and I think I’ll wait until spring
Not very musically inclined, (my sister got all that talent). π Love the love your family shares every moment! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Paula
Hmmm – a post about camping AND Christmas music. Dig it. Voted for your blog, because as silly as these awards may be, what you’re doing here on this site is inspiring and, really, we all could use a little more inspiration every day. Have a good turkey day!
Love the camping pics! looks like it was a blast π adorable charm necklaces!
Love the pics. Question – where is Nella’s tambourine from? I have looked and looked (little is a BIG tambourine fan) and cannot find one for those under 3. Would love the tip!
It is snowing here in Montana {I hear you have a good friend here in my same town. woot!} The snow is lovely but your camping trip looked like loads of fun. And those little bun piggies, oh SO cute!!
Someday I would like to learn how to play the guitar as well. I always said I would take classes in college. That didn’t happen. I need to find a suitable lefty guitar first.
I love the pic of your girls sharing the stroller! With Nella holding the doll, they remind me of little nesting babies! SO cute!
beautiful girls π
Your posting sent me back to my college days in the North Georgia mountains. Camping stirs the soul, quiets the mind and sometimes, takes the heart on a journey it didn’t know it needed to take.
laughing……you have a garage radio that plays 24/7 too! I thought we were the only ones. ha ha ha ha
love your camping
love the double girls in the umbrella stroller
love it all
Yeah for Matt & Kim!!!! Kim and I were friends in college and baby Jane looooves to dance to their music. It’s a dance-a-thon in our kitchen.
I was so exciting when I got a guitar for my 16th birthday. I thought it would be simple to teach myself how to play. 9 years later and I still haven’t learned. I suppose I’m more of a piano girl anyway. Here’s to wishing you MUCH success with all your future guitar adventures. π
Wonderful pictures, as usual. Memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
Sigh, I love camping. We missed it this year, but I vow to enjoy it next year! Thanks for taking us all with you!
Gorgeous photos as always, and I voted at least once. π Love reading, my first stop on my feed reader. Happy holiday week!
This comment has been removed by the author.
I love the camping pics… We usually go every year but we skipped this year because we had a newborn. We are already booked and ready to go next summer… Camping memories are the best :)… Good luck with the vote…I have been voting every day…
You are so lucky you can still go camping! The weather here in California is crazy~ rain and tons of wind. If I were to go camping, I would freeze to death!
Great photos and seems you had a great time with your family and friends.
I LOVE Lainey’s colorful checked dress. She looks gorgeous…as do Mark Poulin’s designs! Thanks for showing me yet another amazing etsy site. Happy week!
I love camping with my love! I look forward to camping with children one day!
seems as though lately I come to make a blog and see you posted one that inspires me to do more.. thank you. rock on girlfriend.
I can’t believe you all are camping and right now there is 8 inches of snow at our place. Totally jealous!!
Looks like a great trip! You have lots of amazing photos of flames from the campfire that are really cool. My favorites this post though are big brother and then you holding up Nella while lying in the grass. π
Okay, okay… You’ve convinced me that the husband and I have got to go camping. You make it look so fun! And, I have to admit, there is something about that campfire air, even without the guitar. (Love that last picture of Lainey with Nella, by the way. She is such a good big sister!)
Love the camping, love the new sponsor, and I love a good giveaway!
bundled up and hearing snow closures it makes me shiver thinking about camping and wearing less clothing! Plus.. hey, I’m commenting so I can win–why not? π
-Heather
Snowing here in MN too…jealous of all the bare limbs in this post!
I’m dying to take my family camping, you make it look fun and effortless!
Love, Love, Love, it all. The post, pics and sponser
I went camping for the first time this year – there really is something about that camp air that totally sucks you right in. Hollah to a new sponser – loving Mark’s designs, super great for upcoming holiday gifts!!
The tambourine Nella has is just screaming for a guitar accompaniment! Such sweet pics as always and encouragement for all of us to enjoy these special moments.
Going over to check out the jewelry, looking forward to it.
I love the pics, as usual. Oh so sweet how the boys interact with the little girls.
Awesomeness in November gotta love it!
Teri
beautiful as usual.! i wish i could convince my husband to go camping, but he could never rough it in a tent for a couple nights. =]
I live in Southern Ontario and it is cold and raining out. So miserable…so looking at your pictures of the bright sunny warm day makes me a tad jealous…and makes me smile.
I would love the gift cert to buy some kick arse things for the beautiful women in my life this Christmas.
Love that you can camp in November and still wear shorts and t-shirts – wonderful memories for all.
I have wanted to take my 3 little ones camping, but have not been brave enough to do so. I keep thinking that when they get a little older it would be better, but now I think I just may bite the bullet and GO! Looks like a lot of fun!
The “sleeping picture” = hooo-larious!!!
Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the camping pics! We used to go camping as a family a lot growing up. It was cheap and fun! Now as an adult with my own family we don’t go nearly enough. In fact, I kindof forget about it. I need to remedy that this coming spring….many many months from now.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Good times, indeed!!
looks like a fun trip! guitar would def be a great addition
So in love with your photography AND blog sponsors. Sweet!
Lainey is looking so big! I’m so impressed you are brave enough to take your not even 1 year old camping, Nella is a little trooper!
My Uncle tried to teach me how to play guitar but, it really hurt my fingers. So, I recently decided that I would instead learn how to play the ukulele. Maybe someday I’ll learn how to play “free falling” on a ukulele and do so around the camp fire at my families cabin.
I love camping, so fun! You have some awesome sponsors, those necklaces are adorable.
Voted! Looks like such a fun time. All of the pictures are gorgeous as usual, but I can’t get over how adorable Lainey looks in her plaid dress with her walking stick.
I love your blog and your photos are inspiring to me. I love to get up (almost in a stalker kinda way) to see if there is a new post, new pictures. i Feel i can learn so much from you.
I so wish that it was still camping season here in Colorado but we are one of the “lucky” states that has snow. How do I become unlucky. hehehe
I haven’t been camping in SO long – I miss the smell of campfire!!! And s’mores. And roasted hotdogs!
Yes, it’s snowing here in Montana (calling for up to 10 inches in the lower elevations) and frackin’ cold (predicted wind chills of -40) and there you are camping in shorts. π Love the pictures. My favs are big brothers with baby sister….awwwwww.
Love reading your blog. Off to vote. (again)
I always LOVE your photos! I also love to camp, and am jealous that you live in a warm climate! Your little ones are SO darn CUTE! I would be super pumped if I won the gift certificate!
camping looks like so much fun with you guys!!
: )
I voted. Early and often. I feel like a true Louisianian!
BTW, I love Mark’s “Starchaser” print. Reminds me of my little man, who might just need it for his third birthday this weekend…off to Etsy!
those necklaces are super cute – quadrapus, love it! looks like a wonderful time was had this weekend.
You should TOTALLY learn to play the guitar!!!
The girls are growing soooo fast!!!
Sunnie in NC
Cute jewelry! And I’ve never been camping – one day i will go!
I so love your blog!! you just totally made me sick for summer all over again π missing our camping & boating weekends. but Keep it UP!! living vicariously is good for the soul.. or atleast reading your blog is!!! π
Gorgeous photos and I love, love, love that little plaid dress!
Love your photos and your outlook on life. beautiful jewelry!
I think I love you and your beautiful family and your photography. Does that sound too “stalkerish”? π Cute post!
Love the photos & yalls matching necklaces…so sweet!
Love the camping pictures. I loved camping as a child and pre-babies. I don’t know why I have felt intimidated camping with my children – probably because I felt it lost some spontaneity. Now, we would have to pack everything. You have me inspired. I will tackle camping with kids.
Great post as usual. we tried camping with our little one this summer as well. Granted we opted for a camper instead of our tent, but it was a weird feeling, coming full circle. I think when he is a little older we will try the tent. Being in NH it is randomly snowing and freezing so we are limited in our camping months, but refreshing (and jealous) that you are still in tank tops.
Happy Trails!
Karen
My stepson plays guitar and brings it wherever he goes. We often sing those cheesey songs by the campfire in my back yard. Good times! You should totally learn!
Camping looks like a blast. So relaxing!
Love the pictures of Lainey flying the kite with her big brother. Sweet.
xo
Kris
You betcha…love Christmas music playing 24/7 on the radio!! And, love this blog!
I love the one picture of Lainey with the stick! And the one of you holding Nella laying in the grass π So sweet! Looks like a very nice weekend.
And I love those necklaces!!
Looks like you guys had a blast camping.
and I love that necklace and the earrings π
I have wanted to learn the guitar for years and still have yet to do it! Bucket list!
Your Laniey was dressed so cute camping!! Love the plaid dress and little keds…Adorable!
Great fun to see your camping pics – I am with you getting into the holiday spirit. We are preparing for our ballet studio’s performance of Nutcracker and feeling very holidayish! Mark’s jewelry is so wonderful – so unique and makes you smile. Would love to share some with my girlies.
I just love your randomness!
Truly there is nothing better than John Denver songs around a campfire. Wishing you the best.
Soooo much cuteness in this post!!! I just love your kiddos! They are adorable! I bet my girl Nelia would absolutely love your girls!
Anyways, what a fun adventure! We love camping, but haven’t even attempted it with Nelia. I have no idea how we would ever keep her contained in a sleeping bag, lol:)
My hubby plays the guitar and used to bring it when we went camping. So much fun!
http://www.patrickandsarahlynch.blogspot.com
I love love this post. I wish I could play guitar too. Happy Holidays to your family
Loving the word “quadrapus”! It makes me smile! My husband and I went camping with his family for his sister’s birthday and my daughter, now one, then 9 months old LOVED camping. I just wish camping season lasted longer in Indiana. Love the pictures!
I love the camping pictures. It reminds me of my childhood.
The camping photos are great, glad you had a good time.
Love the jewelry – and the pics – is there anything NOT to love about your Blog?!?!
I play guitar, mostly self-taught. My advice: Don’t give up! Your fingers will hurt and you’ll become discouraged when nothing sounds like it’s supposed to. Push through. It’s worth it π
As always, great photos! Your blog always puts a big smile on my face π What a beautiful family you have.
OOhhhh, we just had our family campout last weekend. Next year, the Hampton family is cordially invited.<3
I love those tic tac heart earrings!
Fun new jewelry! BTW you can vote for your blog more than once a day (I have been!!). π
I LOVE camping! Nature is where I connect best with God, and I love filling my summers with time in the great outdoors. It’s nice to hear others in the world are enjoying that even if I’m not right now.
(I’m Definitely NOT a snow camper!)
ahhh camping – i haven’t been in years but your post brought up so many happy memories of my own.
beautiful pictures and what a great family weekend!
Voted! And ordered my Tina Steinberg necklace for christmas (via the hubby). Would love to add some Mark Poulin earings to the christmas list!!
I am love with your camping photos and that fantastic jewelry. π
So many fun memories you brought back to me about past camping trips…last one being around 3 years ago. I’ve got some planning to do!
Camping was a family favorite growing up in our household… So many great memories!
Voted for you. Love camping and seeing your experience through pictures. I also concur about coffee that tastes better due to the effort involved!!
I LOVE your blog! It looks like you all had a blast camping and your children are so precious! Happy Thanksgiving π
Snowing in AB Canada! how i would love to be camping in HOT weather! Also is there a website where you buy your girls Tytes? they are sooo cute. O and the givaway would be great too…. π π
As always, your posts are so fun to read and the pictures…oh, what cute pictures!
I simply love your blog. Your girls are so beautiful and I adore seeing all your wonderful pictures! Little Nella is so beyond precious.
Those look like something to get my SIL for Christmas. She loves jewelry with animals on it.
I love this new sponsor! How much cuter could it be!!
Always adding things to my own bucket list. It keeps me moving forward….Thanks for another great post, Kelle.
Wow looks like so much fun, I remember camping when I was younger, I need to take a camping trip with my kids.
It looks like your camping trip was so much fun! We had to skip out this year since our little sweet pea was born the first week of July.
Looks like a fun-filled, family weekend. Perfect bonding time for the Thanksgiving week too!
i already voted for you today. you’re neck and neck with my IRL friend’s blog π
it looks like you had a great time camping! love the photo of Nella inside the tent!
Loving the camping pics although I am very jealous as we woke up to slick, icy covered roads here in Canada!
I love the Quadrapus necklace!
oooh, I love that jewerly! and your blog is oh-so-inspiring. i look forward to all you posts!!
You guys look way too beautiful to be camping! Love it.
I can’t wait to take my baby boy camping for the first time!
You are so brave to take the littles camping! It seems like it would be so hard. Good for you! π
Kelle,
I owe you a huge, long, involved, overly-detailed and “explainey” type of comment. I have been following you blog from the very beginning and can never quite get my words out correctly for my initial comment…today I just went for a small “hi” to you, but believe me…I’m building up for something grand and very connecting and sentimental…hopefully I will at least be able to expand from my meager “hi” to a “hello”. I will connect again…I will!!!!
Love that octopus! We will have a white Thanksgiving here (MN) – just concerned about all the loved ones driving thru it… hoping to get down your way sometime this winter!
A favorite artist sponsoring a favorite artist! What impeccable taste I’ve obviously got!
I fear the camping envy you’ve inspired will stop at just that. Envy. Because my own photos would surely show one squib stabbing the other with a hot marshmallow stick, or covered in goo and biting ants, or the search party I had to call in to relocate the children altogether. Thank you for the vicarious camping trip. It was much sweeter, I’m sure.
The camping pictures look sooo relaxing! Also very excited about Mark Poulin’s work, so fun!
love the new stuff. And the camping pics are awesome
I knitted a scarf! I scratched it off my bucket list!! Love it. Camping with the fam, there is nothing better! Wow! Mark Poulin, very cool!!
Camping with kids, is the BEST! The memories, the eating a ton of cooties before you die…my kids still grimmace when I say, so get started!! Waiting for snow here, only nobody knows how to drive in it…we’ll hunker down and hope our Thanksgiving food is ready for the day.
of all those beautiful and colorful photos…guess which one was my fave?
the hot dog shot.
what does that say about me i wonder?!!!
beautiful. i get it all. at one with nature…family…bugs…
glad you are home again!
xo
Camping is so much fun, thank you for sharing your photos!
I have been voting a few times a day, can’t seem to bump you up the list though… Will keep trying!
That jewellery is adorable, and I love the boxes shown with it as well!
Kate
Alas, it’s gotten too cold here in Chicago to camp (for this mama anyway!)…glad you and the family enjoyed it so much!
love your style. great job. here’s to winning something, and Happy Thanksgiving! Missy.
You should totally rock out the guitar. I might have to add that one to my list too!!! All your pictures are great and looked like a great time. Makes me sad that we didn’t get out camping this summer in the Rockies. Next year!!
And ps….Love the Florida shirt – Go Gators!!
http://www.katsplaybook.com
I love your camping the photos. Especially love the one with everyone’s eyes shut, but not sleeping. Interesting!
I would like to win something- might give me my Christmas spirit back, which i have lost while attempting to Christmas shop this weekend!!!
It is snowing here, and though I love a good welcome to the holidays, I am totally jealous of your tank-topped camping. Even though I am green with envy, I voted. Love your blog (and the one currently holding no. 1 ranking is not nearly as fun, nor does it have good music). Good luck!
Kelle, I can’t play the guitar either and it is on my bucket list. I have visions of being able to play songs to my (future) babes.
So glad you had such a great weekend camping. I just love hearing all about it and thank you for sharing such great pictures. You know, I don’t have to tell you, but Lainey and Nella are pretty lucky to have you and their dad and those handsome older brothers who love them so much.
I voted for you on the bump and will again tomorrow.
Happy unicorns!
Yes…a local Long island station has staretd playing Christmas music too. I am loving it! Can’t wait to have a fantastic turkey day and then proceed with the wonder of Christmas. Loved your camping photos! Looks so fun!
Is it silly that I only ever post a comment when there is a give away? I guess I just feel like I don’t know you in person and so what right do I have to say anything. But I would love something free. I do so enjoy your posts and always look forward to the next one. Thanks again.
Loved the post! And I loved that the quilt was included in the camping trip! Thank you for sharing all your beautiful photos!
Just when I thought I could’nt love you anymore you whip out the camping post! Camping rocks:) My favorite childhood memories are the memories by the campfire with my 6 brothers & sisters. Those memories alone could keep me warm all winter long.
And I so want to be THAT girl, too. The one who pulls out the guitar… Because of you I am becoming THAT girl in so many ways! Thanks for letting me borrow your confidence. You have no idea how you’ve changed this little life of mine.
XOXO,
Angie from Ohio
Loved your post…we won’t be doing much camping for a few more months (here in Nebraska), but I will appreciate it on a new level from your perspective next time around. π
Happy early Thanksgiving!
Sherri, McKenzie & (Nella’s buddy) Macy. π
I don’t know how it happened, but right as I began to read your blog, Tom Petty came on Pandora. It was poetic. If I lived closer, I’d totally teach you to play the guitar and sing fun songs to your kiddos! That’s one of the benefits of being a Music Therapist. Blessings for a fabulous holiday! Off to shop on Mark’s Etsy shop!!
Oh, you fun folks who can go camping, outside, in November! You want snow, come see us up in Minnesota. Take as much back with you as you’d like!
I love your girls’ shoes by the way…..so cute!
I’ve never been camping… but know it’s in my future as my husband grew up doing so and loves it. Maybe once it isn’t freezing here :).
Love the jewelry… here’s hoping for something fun!
Great pics, and voting complete!
Especially loved the pics of Miss Nella — the one with the funky hat with the long ear ties, and the one of her in the tent by herself.
Beautiful pictures, and I think having a guitar would be just like the icing on the cake! Have a great week!
Your pictures are always so gorgeous!
I can’t believe your camping in November..! Looks like fun.
What a beautiful necklace!
I thought for a bit that you’d stopped the music on your blog. Thankfully, my PC was just muted. Love the way you always seem to match your text and photos with a song that totally enhances the readers’ experience. My favorite pairing so far…The Dog Days are Over accompanying your “Swing Your Dreads” post. Thank you for being you!
The last picture of the girls is rock-star quality. They have the best personalities, and that always shines through in photos!
Love all the camping pictures! The jewelry is PRECIOUS!!! The boxes are just as sweet as the jewelry π
great post. Looks like it was a blast. The girls are adorable.
Love the quadrapus necklaces!!!
Camping is so muh fun with kiddos. And his jewelry is oh so adorable.
Oh gosh, I haven’t been camping since my boys were toddlers. They’e all teens now and I have three little girls who have never been camping. I think I’ll put that on my list for next summer. I miss it!
Wait…are you saying John Denver’s NOT COOL?! ;o) Love th last pictur of the girls, they are so sweet and bign abl to see that love means so much. My girls are 8 and 6 and when I capture those moments it makes all the fighty (yup, I know it’s not a real word) ones ok. Glad you all had a fun weekend and I am so sure you will be winning best blog!
I voted again. Hope you win. You deserve it.
I love camping! The campfire stinky clothes in the morning and achy back! Sounded like tons of fun. That jewelry is adorable and really creative!
-Lindsey G
I have ALWAYS wanted to play the guitar!!! Love, love the new sponsor!! Off to V-O-T-E!
Oh that Jewelry is so darn cute!! And I’m voting every day for your blog! It is by far the best!
MY 7 YEAR OLD LITTLE WOULD LOVE ONE OF THOSE NECKLACES — NUFF SAID!
ENJOY THE SMALL THINGS TODAY.. WE VOTED!!
Looks like a fabulous time was had by all!! And I am THRILLED to have the Christmas music blaring all day long now, too π
I want to take our little family camping now, so fun.
I kind of envision you with a sassy guitar on your knee…
I can smell the campfire…
Love the picture of Nell and big brother lying in the grass…her face says so much!
You guys looked like you had a blast. Wish it was a bit warmer here so we could have some fun too. π Great Pics. π
love your blog!
love this giveaway!
Your family makes me smile. Also, I am in love with that leaf necklace!
What sweet photos! Love the matching necklaces.
Camping is just something that I never got into. The whole lack of a clean bathroom and shower thing gets to me but you made it look half tempting! Not the lack of a clean bathroom and shower part but the camping and family part. Who knows…maybe we’ll give it a try! My husband and kids would be thrilled.
LOVE it! You captured all the things I LOVE about camping!!! π
Love this!!! π
Voted!
How fun to take the whole family camping. I’m sure the kids loved it. And I bet you hear this all the time but the boys look just like Brett! He has some strong genes! I love the photo of Nella in the tent and Lainey flying the kite. Happy Monday!
Love the photos! Looks like the camping trip was tons of fun!
I’m determined to one day win one of your giveaways π π looks like really fun jewelry! Your camping trip sounds great! Looking forward to doing that with our little guy in the future.
I love the photos and the new sponsor.
you’re right, there’s nothing cooler than a chick that can rock a guitar next to a campfire. i tried learning, but so far can only play about 3 chords. rock on mama.
btw, love the quadrapus necklace.
happy thanksgiving!
I’d like to thank you for sharing so much with us, your life, your girls, your work, your holidays, your dreams! Also, thank you for giving me the idea for the PERFECT christmas gift for my husband – guitar lessons!!! He plays but hasn’t touched it for about 3 years and needs some mojo back to pick it up again! Thank you Kelle for sharing so much – I love you and your girls π Leigh, Syd AUSTRALIA xxx
I love your blog! When it’s all dreary and cloudy in Minnesota, it’s nice to visit your site and get a little taste of Florida sunshine π
Awww, how sweet- my favorite part of our camping trips is when my oldest breaks out his guitar around the fire and we all sing. Just the old girl scout in me I suppose:) Love the new sponsor!
I can’t wait for the day that I can say “somewhere it’s snowing” and then head outside sans coat to pick up what I need for thanksgiving prep. Until then, I’ll just enjoy the warmth and sunshine through your posts- they’re wonderful.
We haven’t attempted camping since our little one was born….maybe once it warms up in the spring we will give it a shot!
Love the jewelery! But not so big on camping. If anyone could convince me to give camping a try it might be you with the way you eloquently describe it. Maybe.
I didn’t think camping with a young child could be possible, but now I’m inspired! Thank you!
i thoroughly enjoy everything you write. you are so inspirational.
love love the cute jewelry, but I’m not much of a camper. you look good at it though!
love love love the patterns on the girls’ clothes. So awesome. As is your new sponsor. As are you. You make sleeping in a tent with two littles look easy. And now I want to go camping…
Kelle.. seriously, you need to girlscout it up! π guitars, wonderful campfire songs, muchos crafting and sticking and your babes would love it!
You’ve inspired me to create bunting and lovely decorations! And I’ve been merrily clicking that vote button since I found it!
Lurve the new sponsor! Glad you all had a fun weekend camping.
And now I want to go camping… and fly a kite.
Love the pic of Nella in the tent with just the lamp… as always, I just love looking at your pictures!!
And thanks for another awesome give away. Crossing my fingers!
I want to go camping right NOW! Love your posts! Your pictures and words always inspire me.
Love the cute cute jewelry!!
How brave to go camping with two little ones!! Love it.
My favorite camping song would defiantly be any Disney classic song…belting out Part of your World from The Little Mermaid with my sisters while sitting by a cozy fire. Or A Whole New World, where my brothers would sing as Aladdin, and my sisters and I would sing as Jasmine while my parents roll there eyes at our silliness.
Camping is so much fun…and my 4 yr old daughter Lauren wanted me to tell you that she likes this song..haa I love all of your music choices on your blog- Just one more thing to love… Happy Thanksgiving!
Looks like a great camping trip! I totally wish I could play the guitar, too. Would be fun. We could play together!
I would LOVE that gift card…what a wonderful new sponsor!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time with family and friends.
I love the pics of the family holding nella up in the air. You are so blessed with a wonderful family and great friends.
Always such beautiful pictures!
I want to learn the guitar too! In fact it’s on my Christmas list! I hope we both get a chance to learn one day.
Too bad it’s cold and snowy here, your pictures make me want to go camping!
kelle,
your camping trip in november looked like so much fun! good times with the family, memories you get to keep forever.
here in missouri it was a beautiful 70 degree day , but tommorrow its supposed to be coooold and maybe snow. crazy weather in missouri always!
have a great thanksgiving!!
Love the picture of Brandyn in the tree! He seems like such a good big brother ~ nobody mess with his little sistas!
Looks like you guys had a lot more fun camping than we did. It was a little too cold with not enough heart warming fire. The second night was better because we had front row seats to a fire. The hardest part was waking up at 530 am with almost-third-trimester-bladder and getting out of my warm sleeping bag to find the port-a-potty.
I love your Tic Tac Heart earrings! The last picture on this post is hilarious! Thanks for sharing!
I loooove camping. Well I did. We haven’t been in AGES. It’ll be fun to do with a brood of kids one day!!
I’d love to win the gift certificate. Christmas isn’t really happening this year for us since we are in the process of buying our first home. I’d lvoe to be able to get my mom a little gift! π
camping is one of our favourite things too! There is something special about spending time around a campfire with a few good friends and some toasty marshmallows!
Voted!
I’ve been meaning to thank you for making me fall IN LOVE with Ingrid Michaelson. I could listen to her all day long.
Beautiful post, as always.
Great pics (as always) love the quadrapus!!!
I swore off camping but your pics make me want to try again!
Love Lainey’s plaid dress π
Just voted! Love the pics of your trip!
It is snowing here in the Seattle ,WA area! I love Christmas time , my daughter has been singing Jingle Bells all year – I love it! Next year she can teach her baby brother all about Chrismas and Jingle Bells.
Happy Monday ! Yay for holiday weeks!
Another wonderful adventure! I loved taking my little to the family’s favorite camping spot over the summer. I can’t wait for the years to come when she can explore it! These are some special times.
Yeah, I can’t play the guitar either…but the air guitar and I go way back π
Thanks for your weekly reminders to soak up the little things in life.
Sigh… what a lovely weekend. Keep strumming it, girl! Your weekend moments make me smile and so does the whimsy of Mark Poulin’s “little things”.
I so want to learn the guitar too. Oh, and take my 3 yr old camping… one day! *sigh*
I love his little mother/daughter necklace sets. . .too cute! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love your blog! Would definitely put that $75 credit to good use! Count me in. Thanks!
I am a relatively new reader of your blog and I look forward to new posts. You always look like you are having so much fun AND you make it all look so easy. It is very easy to be inspired by your small things ( hello mitten advent countdown! Super cute!!!!)
Love the pics and wishin I could rock out with guitar too!
Love the pics and wishin I could rock out with guitar too!
I’m with Heidi, love the hotdog shot haha. Voted again!
I’ve been wanting to learn the guitar for about 20 years now…luckily I have some brothers who’ll keep the music playing around our campfire till I get around to it. But yes, we’ve got mounds of snow here in Montana…shutting down roads and keeping us inside by the fireplace… so its so strange (but warming) to see your beautiful green grass and camping shots.
My hubby has been trying to get me to go camping but I am such a wuss. Your pics make it seem like maybe I can do it and actually enjoy it. Maybe this weekend seeing how next week we are having a c-section.. Would love to win but Love your blog so much more..
Amazing post. Camping makes me want to wear flannel as well!
i haven’t camped since i was little, but this post makes me want to give it another whirl π
I love the make-shift “double” umbrella stroller idea!
EVERY time we go camping I get that same “I MUST learn to play guitar” need inside me. I’ve mentioned it to my husband countless times, droppings hints that Christmas and my birthday are coming and guitar lessons would be a fantastic gift… he hasn’t caught on yet. Maybe I’ll be lucky this Christmas. π
I love the picture of Nella on Lainey’s lap in the stroller… and especially the very last one of both the girls by the pillars where Lainey appears to be trying to get Nella to laugh. Pure sweetness. π
I’m super jealous about your camping excursion… up here in Canada it’s waaaaay too cold for something like that right now. I’m waiting impatiently for next summer to arrive so we can get out there into the wilderness again.
And finally, for the record… I am ridiculously in love with the mother-daughter necklaces by Mark Poulin. I’m the cheesy Mom who bought matching DC Sneakers for my daughter and myself… more than once. I’m all about the matchy Mama things!
What I wouldn’t give to feel the FL sun & camping imagine camping in November Love it! or at least the idea of it! Blowing snow with a wind chill is just the kick start I need to start our families “enjoying the small things” inspired advent calendar.
Voted.
I want to go camping desperately. My little has never been- but oh she’d love it!
LOVE your pictures and how you write. It’s so peaceful and yet so love-filled. Makes me want to go camping soon!
Your camping photos bring back memories of our family camping trip two years ago with children and babies in tow. Nothing like cooking over a camp stove, showering under the solar shower, listening to the children splash, run and laugh all day long. Beautiful post, as always Kelle. Love your new sponsor, Mark Poulin. Gorgeous works of art he has going on!
I wanna win just for the cute little boxes his jewelry comes in! Imagine, then, what fun, shiney things would be inside.
Amazing post Kelle! I too have learning to play the guitar on my bucket list, it always seems so relaxing and fun! Your family is beautiful!
I’m new to your blog and wow what an inspiration you are. We love camping as well, it has a way of getting your family back to our humble basics.
ooh, you make me want to go camping!
voting like it’s my job!
I need to pop over to TBB and vote for you guys!
I love the jewelry too. Cute stuff!
Camping in November. Something this Manitoba girl will never get to do, not with the inches of snow we now have!
Love the photos, as per usual……. π
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many comments on one blog post, but then I’m not surprised as although new here I am absolutely loving your posts.
I have red Hunter wellies that I adore but I don’t look half as good in them as your little girl, she rocks wellies!
I’ve always wanted to play the guitar too, I’m right with you. However attempts have left me scuppered as I just can’t seem to stretch my fingers enough. I’m content to sing whilst someone else plays instead.
I’d love to win the giveaway but regardless, on my first ever Thanksgiving (just moved from UK to US) I’m thankful for posts like yours that always make me smile.
Lottie -x-
Those necklaces are just adorable! π
Insert huge smile! What a fun camping trip.. once again you make it look super easy AND fab =)
I love the picture of Nella in the tent! So cute!
my 9 year old plays the guitar and sings. i love it so much it makes me want to learn how myself. maybe i will. love the necklaces so very much! and camping too… maybe this weekend we’ll camp. such inspiration around your blog:).
Pick me, pick me! I would love that little quadrapus necklace to share between my two littles!
Thanks again for adding light and inspiration to my life π
Kelle,
Love your blog, I voted for you! Thanks for sharing your cool giveaways and a whole lot of yourself and your beautiful family.
Sarah
Aww, there’s that quilt again. It’s like a Where’s Wally when I search through your photos looking for a glimpse of ‘the’ quilt. Gonna make one instead of learnng guitar. π
Camping is so awesome… I ahave lots of fun memories of campfires and guitars of my own! what a great tradition to start with your littles π
You are braver than me. My kind of camping is doing all of those fun things outside – but then sleeping inside. Ha Ha.
I love me some camping too!!! I love how you reference camping pre-and post-littles. “Pre” was all friends and cards and lots of drinking! “Post” is all kids and making them happy and relaxing when you can and campfire and marshmellos and is SO MUCH BETTER!!!
Hey Kelle… your camping pics are gorgeous! Also, I love those Tic Tac Heart earrings… would love to win that GC! Take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Teresa
I love those family necklaces. I’m 21 and I STILL think my mom would love this π
As usual, love the blog!
Ohh I like those earrings so much! Super happy π
I love, love, love Mark’s stuff. Almost as much as I love checking this blog every day. Thanks for what you do. You brighten my days.
love it all. camping, dirt, marshmallows, sleeping bags, the 2 hour task of trying to put up our fred flinstone tent w/out directions, that amazing morning light for great photos, those stars at night sparkling so divinely and yes, some guitar playing around that wonderful fire.
voting !!!!
Love the make shift double stroller!!! ( or is it a triple, i see a little dolly arm on the side)
I find you very inspirational but I am not sure you could get me to go camping…..hmmm may have to think about that one for a few more years
Looks like a great camping trip. The pictures are awesome and makes me want to take my boys camping π
The necklaces that you are Lainey are wearing are soooo cute, would love to have one!
you’re girls are so beautiful. I love the photos you take of them!
I also lovelovelove this jewelery! So cute!
I love camping.
I love marshmallows.
I love giveaways.
Love the pictures of Lainey in her plaid shirtdress- the head tilt pose is too cute!
So I really need to take my kids camping! Looks like so much fun! Thanks for posting!
Can we move in with y’all? I’m positive my 2 1/2 year old would be in heaven!!! As would I! π
And those are the cutest earrings I have ever seen in my life!! LOVE ‘EM!!
Kelle,
The pics of the girls with their brothers melt my heart every single time. They are so blessed to have not one, but two big brothers. Their genuine affection and love for their little sisters shines through in every photo you share of them together. I can’t wait until my little lady has a sibling to love on.
As far as hobbies go, I’d love to learn how to sew. I keep saying this and it has been a goal for a long time, but I’ve yet to buy a machine and try it out. I know I’d lose a limb. But if you buy a guitar, I’ll buy a Singer. Or Brother. Or whatever a beginning sewer is supposed to buy.
I totally want to go camping right this minute! We used to camp all the time before having our babies, and even talked about going this past summer, but never did. That “sleeping picture”- made me laugh! I’ll keep on voting- you deserve it!
Looks like the most perfect weekend! Your girls are adorable! π
I am always a little envious whenever a friend busts out their guitar on a camping trip. Their is something about playing a guitar in the wilderness.
We are rocking out to the 24/7 Christmas station now…as we try to perfect a whole wheat sugar cookie:)
We’ve been preparing to go camping, too. I can’t wait, and your post just made me even more excited about it :o)
I vote every chance I get! I hope you win, everyone knows that you and nella and lainey deserve it!
Oh, camping must have been beautiful. It’s too cold here in PA to camp right now. But next summer I plan to get a huge group of friends and family to go, because there’s just something about creating those raw natural funny great moments, under the stars, in front of the light of a fire you made, that feels more special than anything else.
Yay! Another amazing sponsor. I don’t know how you find these people, but they are so crazy talented!
Have a great Thanksgiving, kelle. I think I might try those little turkey pine-cone ideas for my family table, if I get time (and if i can find pine-cones!) its just an adorable idea.
I’m thankful for a lot of things, and my list could go on and on but one thing I’m thankful for is stumbling across your blog because honest to God, Kelle, you have inspired me to be a happier person. I always knew I had this potential, but I was slow to crack it open. Now everyday I feel I’m leading to something bigger and better than the previous day and my life is just so much more grand now. So, thank you!
Sure would love to win that jewerly
Your photography is so beautiful! I play guitar, but I feel like too big of a dork to play it for people π And I would love to win the gift certificate, what a great artist.
May I just say that your Nella is the most precious little baby?? I just want to squeeze her! Thanks for always being upbeat and inspiring!
love your blog! cracks me up that your camping in November! but it’s sweet too! Thanks for the giveaway!
My hubs plays the guitar…when he busts it out..I swoon. I always forget his talent. He was singing with the 2 year old the other day..and I melted!!
I can *almost* smell the campfire. So weird to be thinking of Camping and Christmas songs at the same time!
And if you played guitar, you’d definetly be over your coolness quota.
I absolutely love your blog! I voted for you! Good Luck!
That little octopus is so precious! I love seeing your daughters grow up!
Love the camping photos and the idea of spending relaxing time with family in a special spot. I love taking our babies to places that are meaningful to my hubby and I. Makes it extra special.
Our family loves camping. Living in Southern Arizona we love to “get away from it all” and journey to the cool mountains for a weekend of hiking, camp fires and of course roasting marshmellows.
I have been voting every day. You deserve it!!
Love the fire butt picture. It made me laugh. Which is just what I needed today.
I voted too! It’s all good!
Ahh you have the camping thing down pat! Good work. And yes, the guitar singing chick would have been the icing on the cake – very retro and cool. Love it.
Ps I voted! x
I’ve never been camping. It’s on my bucket list. (Oh, and I voted. Go Kelle!)
That sounds like a really wonderful experience! Glad you had fun with your family Kelle!
what a fantastic post. you inspire me everyday to enjoy every moment with my baby. seeing the things you do with your kids gives me inspiration, ideas, and drive to be the best mom i can be. i love camping and wish it wasnt so cold up here in canada so i could camp all year!
Your blog inspires me to slow down and enjoy life. I think I’m putting up the tent tomorrow night in the back yard before the cold front blows through.
Yay camping! I love your blog and have been voting for you π
Lovely photography. Darling jewelry. Worthy ambitions. You’ve inspired me to re-kindle my love with my own guitar. It’s been a long time since we spent any quality time together [three kids tends to re-direct your priorities]..although occassionally when I do find time to pick it up, they join in with clapping or singing or dancing – such fun! Do it! Learn!
This post makes me long for the camping trip that we took in August. My kids had the absolute time of their lives. My 5 year old daughter asks me once a week when we can go camping again!
Oh kelle,
I want you to win win win!!!! My girls and I follow you all the time! π it’s sooo close! Post another push tonight!! One favor some day….. Could you ever hold a sign that says hi Sara and emme π my girls would be so thrilled with the connection. I totally get that sounds kinda weird… My little emme cried during ballet also and part of getting her to be brave was watching your Laney π love u guys!!!
I LOVE camping!!! We try to go a couple of imtes a year!!!!
I love the picture of everyone sleeping. Those moments are precious!
Love your blog, your quirky comments, and your beautiful family!! You make my day and give me a little hop in my step π
I have to confess I cannot share your enthusiasm for camping — its the bugspray references, I’m sorry!! But I love the picture and the clear joy your kids are having. I want them to like camping more than I do. Anyway, love the marmar site. May have to spend some money there.
In the very first picture, one of the boys is wearing a t-shirt that says “Barron” on it…You wouldn’t happen to know where he got it, would you? My brother in law is named Barron and I know he would love to have a shirt like that!
I hope I win this gift certificate, BTW… But even if I don’t, thanks for introducing me to Mark Poulin’s work. It’s awesome!!
Don’t worry, it’s snowing in Minnesota. RIght over the sheet of ice that formed yesterday. A bit tricky walking around…
The camping trip looks wonderful!
I love camping… especially if it includes a fort in my living room! π

We love camping too!
I used to love going camping when I was younger. We went quite often and it was always a thrill. It is something I would love to share with my boys, but my husband isn’t exactly one with nature. He’s a bit of a city boy and hates all bugs. Maybe one day I can talk him into it though.
We haven’t been back to our favorite pre-kids camping spot yet…we keep saying we will when our youngest is 3 but we just had another baby, so maybe I just need to bite the bullet and camp with a babe. You make it look easy…as you do with everything!
It’s snowing here in Seattle! Let the holidays begin!
Nella looks so big in the last photo!
I hope you win, Kelle. I discovered your blog the week *my* little one was born, so I consider it serendipitous, and will always remember reading Nella’s birth story the week of Alex’s. π
Love that pic of both girls in the umbrella stroller. So sweet!
We’ve had about 4 ft of snow here so I can’t imagine camping right now!!
I love camping. What is it about hot dogs cooked on a grill or over a campfire? I could eat a million! I think learning to play guitar would be fabulous. It’s so soothing – my brother and his buddies would play for HOURS!
Love the jewelry too!
I love the owl mama and baby necklace! Your posts always inspire me to go and do something fun with my two sweet girls! We are making pinecone turkeys today thanks to your inspiration.

fave picture was the one where no one was asleep but plenty of eyes closed..cool!!
Wow! What an awesome weekend you had! Sometimes getting away from the city and back to nature is just what one needs. And it must have been such a blast for the kids π Have a great week!
Lainey always has the best outfits!
Lainey always has the best outfits!
Oh this post make me yearn for warmer weather so we can go camping-I love camping but have not been since our daughter was born 21 mo ago-we must take her next summer! and those earrings are darling!
love your little quadripus!
We have snow here in Seattle! Just started this morning and I love it! I also have Christmas music on Pandora as I work. Love, love, love! It’s my ‘fuel’ as you would say. π And congrats on the blog win. Just went to vote and while voting is over, you still won!
I love how you make ordinary days so interesting. I look forward to reading your blog daily. I love love love the new sponsor! I will be ordering myself the teeny turtle necklace. Too cute!
Love the jewelry!! The necklace is so cute!!
Girl~ I so voted again!
How about a give away that the winner (after you determine is not a stalker or freako) wins a day of photography lessons with you?
Sucks that I am in Los Angeles…but you could come here too!? I would even take an I.O.U.
Just a thought!
Love ya!
Sher
Love the picture of Lainey and the dog sleeping. So funny!
Thick snowflakes are swirling outside my window as I peruse your sunny camping pictures! It gives me the funniest feeling π
i haven’t ever been a fan of camping – but you have made it look SO COZY! so fun to get a new perspective π
I find you incredibly brave to camp with two littles. Mine are currently tearing apart the living room while I try and focus on the computer.
I play the flute, does that count for anything? Beautiful jewelry, I would love a piece!
Guitar playing is on my bucket list also….someday!
Loved reading about and seeing your beautiful pictures of your November camping trip … fun!
I love all the jewellery you wear … is it hard to choose which piece to wear each day?
Thanks for introducing us to another talented artist.
lovin this blog Kelle
Man I’d love to do some Florida camping. Too cold here… Looks like you had a wonderful time. Great, creative photos.
Great pics!
One of my best memories as a kid is of the annual camping trips my (almost)entire family would go on. Great times, you are creating memories for Lainey and Nella that will last a lifetime!
We love being outdoors, although, we dont get to camp as much as I would like we do go to the beach quite a bit and camp out there. (we are from NC) We also love getting to the mountains and hiking and camping out when we can. The best is when my fiance brings his guitar, he is very talented and I could listen to him play for HOURS…. Vote vote voting away! π
I dont know if I can stay away from technology while camping haha maybe one day wouldnt hurt hahaha
i love your pics and reading about your life
Looks like a fabulous camping weekend!!! If only our weather were camping worthy….
guess what…i went to michael’s last night and am doing a very simple craft for place settings with my 4 year old for Thanksgiving at our house. There is NO limit to the ways you inspire. I’m voting for you for sure! Thanks for reminding us:) The pics are so beautiful!!!
I love all your pictures, but I think my favorites are the ones of the big brothers with their little sisters. It’s so obvious that the all love each other – just beautiful! Thanks for sharing; it makes my glasses just a bit rosier. π
AH! This camping trip looks like it was SO much fun!! You guys know how to vacation, this we know.
Lainey is getting so big. She’s suddenly looking like such a big girl.
Nella + the color green = magical.
And the giveaway is fab. Hoping I win this one π
I love your camping photos! I wish I could do something like that right now! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Pick me! Pick me! Such fun pictures of your camping adventure! So brave of you with a baby!
Fun times in the woodsl…your camping adventure looked AMAZING!!! So glad those unicorns of yours were jumping the rainbows at your camp site!!! (love how you write that…) I too wish I was that cool chick around the campfire strummin’ out Kumbaya and all those Girl Guide songs just for the FUN of it…however, with or without the guitar everyone’s a rockstar when there’s a campfire a blazin’ and tin cups are full of chilled beer!! Good times!!
Good Luck with the blog…off to vote.
Cheers!
Monique
my favorite memories as a child were camping with the family… nothing better than seeing my folks pack up the trusty motorhome with tents galore and heading out in the middle of nowhere Alaska… it was great fun… Thanks for letting me come along on your camping trip…
I’d love to win a gift certificate…
Love your pictures!
Are there alligators while camping? Just wondering because you’re in Florida and all! π
thanks for the sweet give away!!
I love that you have turned your radio to Christmas music…I make sure that my car stereo is on continuous Christmas music so that my heart will be warmed every time I turn on my car π
I play the piano, but it’s definitely a drag to pull that thing out around a campfire. π
Best of luck with the guitar! I love playing…I took it up about 5 years ago and it KILLS me that I didn’t have an interest when I was younger…I would SO be rocking the campfires if I’d been playing for 20 years.
Love the tic tac toe earrings.
Love the camping photos! Can’t wait to experience that with my little ones.
I would looovvveee to play guitar! Someday I will…I was born to rock. lol At my bachlorette party, we went to this huge bar in another town, and the band let me come up and sing with them. Mostly 80’s rock, my fav. I spent over 2 hours on that stage, singing my heart out, it was totally my dream! Best night ever.
Suddenly I have a strong urge to drive to Florida and go camping! Love the pictures!
What a beautiful weekend and great photos. My sister has a Boston love the dog too π
Love the camping pictures! Wish it was camping weather here in Nebraska!
Awwww, what the heck?!! When I finally stopped voting this morning (only to do my actual job for a while, lol) it was tied…I’m back on it!!
And can I just say, Oh how I miss camping…it’s been far, far too long. I think I need to wait until I can have beer to go next though…it just ain’t the same! And Nella’s little hat and Lainey in that gorgeous plaid…scrum-diddly-umptious!!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday week. Happy Thanksgiving!!
I am in love with that little owl necklace on his etsy, so beautiful! You look like you guys had such a great time camping, Nella is so sweet in her stripy socks!
Very neat jewelry!
I love that you cosleep and talk about it. I’ve been nervous about camping because of it and hearing that you do it successfully gives me hope!
Thanks for sharing as much as you do.
Appreciate it!
kassia.ann@gmail.com
I love camping…. But I don’t like bugs or getting dirty. LOL Glad everyone had a great time!
Really neat concept on jewelry this sponsor has. Going to go check it all out!
:o)
I need to take my littles camping!!!! Thanks for the inspiration..Ive missed it , so.
I’m so glad you had a great weekend camping. I must say, I was all into it, going along reading about campfires and tents, and then I saw a palm tree in a picture and lost it. I immediately went to sandy beaches and fruity drinks. I should probably try and get out more π
Super, cool camping trip. Brave gal for taking your little bit! I hope to brave that next fall with our now 9 month old gal and big almost 5 year old girl!
Your camping photos are great! It’s snowing in the PNW today so all I can do is dream of camping next summer. I love Mark Poulin’s jewelry. Thanks for the great giveaway.
We love, love, love camping, too. We do the primitive camp scene, too. Coleman stove, blue enameled coffee pot, tents, campfire, guitar(our oldest son plays), s’mores, hot dogs…what’s not to love? I voted.
I never leave comments, but I am now inspired to take a camping trip with my own brood!
One of my favourite parts of summer is campfires when we’re at our cabin in northern Saskatchewan (Canada). My brother plays the guitar (quite well) and I sing (not so well) but it’s fun and magical and the loons on the lake add just the right amount of back-up vocals to make me sound not so terrible π
Oh my. The picture of Lainey in the plaid dress holding the walking stick…SO cute π
Love your blog! The photos of your sweet angles are so precious!
This makes me want to go camping so badly. Thanks so much for such a wonderful blog!
This makes me want to go camping so badly! Thanks for such a wonderful blog! π
It’s so sad that your girls aren’t loved at all. π
Great post.
And I LOVE that jewelry!
My husband tried to teach me how to play guitar when we got married. Yeah, I can play 3 chords. That’s it. And we were married over 6 years ago.
One of my most fond memories with my uncle(now has brain cancer) was playing the gutiar around a camp fire!!!! I love your blogs!!!
You could definitely pull it off…even just holding the guitar, you would rock it out! lol! Thanks for introducing us to a new sponsor…love the jewelry!
Kelle~I swear, you make me want to go out right now in the cold, dark night & buy a brand new camera. I love your pictures. They capture life in all its glory. Just beautiful! I also love how the quilt shows up everywhere-from the beach to the airport to the cozy spot in front of the fire..so, so cool.
i’m jealous of your camping trip. we had a blizzard here this weekend and my world is covered in tons and tons of snow.
Voted!
Love the camping post. Gardening, camping….I love that you went to Montana, it’s rubbing off on you!
I’m SO Jealous! You were able to go camping this weekend…. We had freezing rain and all the schools were closed..
I am so not a camping girl… but I think baby Nella just sold me on it! π
What an awesome trip.
Love the jewels, too!
Oh, the campground. When I was little we always went with friends to their hunting ground. They had the back end of a tractor trailer that they had built bunk beds in. Not so much roughing it completely, but as much as 6 girls and their moms could handle at that point.
Super cute post! And super cute stuff from your new sponsor! Hope I win and I hope you win too! π
I love the owl necklace of Marks..
Camping is so much fun. I haven’t attempted it with children yet. I am thinking next summer!
Every morning, before I leave for work at 7:15, I read your blog. Each day, I am inspired. Thank you.
Oh we’ve never gone camping, it kind of frightens me. I should try it though since it looks so fun! Plus I’m sure my 2yr old son and 7yr old daughter would LOVE it!
I love your posts Kelle, I get so many ideas that I incorporate to our play time at home. I do need to work on my craftiness, I have gotten lazy in that department.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I want to play the violin so badly, but lelarning music with little ones underfoot takes so long. Good luck on the guitar.
I’ve been voting!! π
Love it all!
Camping with my kids is one of my favorite things. Glad you had fun!
Camping is actually on MY bucket list and as soon as our daughter (and future children) are older (and born), we’re going on a camping adventure. Can’t wait!
love the camping pictures- Florida camping doesn’t look too different from Michigan camping! and love the boston terrier π
Can’t wait to take my boy camping!
Love those necklaces! and reading your blog, the highlight of “my time” after the kids are in bed! happy thanksgiving!
Love those necklaces! and reading your blog, the highlight of “my time” after the kids are in bed! happy thanksgiving!
sometimes (actually, most of the time)i feel like you are taking the words straight outta my head! like the other day, when you were saying how your heart skips a beat when you walk into Michael’s… i totally get that. or the way you describe all that you love about camping and how you wish you could be the cool chick with the guitar around the campfire.. yeah, i’m so wishing that was me too. thanks again for the beautiful words and pictures.. they always make me smile. and, also, thanks for putting all of it out in the world for us to read, so that i can read it to my husband, so that he can know that i’m not the only one who likes to try to view the world in the unicorns jumping over rainbows kind of way π
My uncle playing the guitar at ALL of our family gatherings, and singing all the great songs are my all time favorite family memories!! You go girl getting that guitar! π
Your blog inspires me! Your blog is a great motivation to me as a mom!!! Thank you for taking the time to inspire!
holy happy camping trip!! i haven’t been on the computer in awhile and i just checked back in to see how much fun you guys are having…..can you believe its almost turkey day? the pinecone turkeys are my favorite and so is nella in the tent. cant wait to hear if you win the blog award!! xoxo
Growing up in Alaska our family spent most every summer weekend camping… such great memories of stomping around free in nature… though along with that a childhood trauma of having to pee outside. Car camping is where it’s at these days! Looking forward to sharing the joy of sleeping outdoors with my boys.
Voting voting & voting… fingers crossed for you to win… except when I need them to vote of course.
Cheers,
Kate
Your pictures are ridiculously cool… although I can’t wrap my head around the whole camping thing in the midst of Thanksgiving! Here in WI my loved ones are soon to be in search of a fresh cut Christmas tree, wrapped in fuzzy blankets and footie pj’s, and even shoveling the white stuff! I can’t say the word in fear that it will fall too hard and heavy! Hehe!
Your post makes me wish I liked camping more. π My poor husband is only allowed to take me camping if there is a bathroom within walking distance, an air mattress, and no threat of rain. Maybe I should enjoy the small things more when it comes to the great outdoors…
Beautiful pics! And we were just thinking of getting a guitar for Christmas.
I haven’t taken my babies camping officially yet…we drove to a camp ground…set up camp in the back of our minivan and stayed until dark…but you sure make it look fun!
Would love to win something! Thanks for the chance.
Susan
This made me want to go camping so badly! And those necklaces are so adorable. π
Loving the small things!
love love love the new sponsor’s design!
I love camping and I would love to win this!!!
I’m gonna go vote for you cause you oooze with awesomeness!
And I’m learning to play guitar too…youtube will teach you songs you want to learn. And if you have a mac and have Garage Band…it will help you tune it. It’s fabulous!
I want to let you know that your blog makes me smile so much! I have e-mailed before to say how inspiring I find it. I find it even more inspiring right now. I have recently moved away from home to go to university and I miss my family a hell of a lot. Reading your blog makes me smile, it makes me feel warm inside, it makes me miss my family a hell of a lot, but in a way it makes me feel more comforted. Thankyou for sharing your life with us!
i would love the bloom ring! π
I haven’t been camping in far too long! Sounds like a fab weekend. Love the necklaces, cute!
Looks like you guys had a blast! I am sure you all smelled like that campfire when you came home…best smell ever!
Happy Thanksgiving week!
I love the photos. They remind me of all the camping trips my family took when I was a kid.
I always think that moms of toddlers and babies are so brave for camping…and adventure I haven’t faced…yet π
We just went camping too! So fun with kids!
the profile pic of lainey pulling the kite is to.die.for!
My husband plays guitar, he is required to teach our girls. There may be no hope for me.
thanks for sharing your camping photos – looks like fun times!
Gosh..so much to say. I’ll try to keep it short. Camping RULES. even more so with babies. We just went on our annual trip two weekends ago with a group of 7 adults and 8 kids. Check out Koreshan sometime..still close but feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere feel..
I love how Nella is loved by every single member of your family and friends. I love Lainey and what looks to be her walking stick. And I love the fab new jewlery. Conversation piece for sure. I’d love!
PS. I can totally see you rockin’ out a guitar.
Amazing!! You even make camping look fun. I’ve always wished I could sit down at a piano and play at cocktail parties – so I understand your desire to play guitar around the fire. It looks like you had a great time and we in the north are jealous of your weather. Have a wonderful week preparing for what I’m sure will be a warm cozy Thanksgiving for your beautiful family.
What a fun post! Totally gonna plan a camping trip!
And I LOVE that jewelry! =)
fun, fun, fun! i’d love to win some free jewelry swagger!
Kelle,
My babies are 27 & 23 but we all still love camping and the joy we find getting away outdoors. I check your blog daily for inspiration and your beautiful photographs! Of course you deserve to win this award! All sorts of votes coming your way from Tucson, AZ!
I think your husband should learn to play the harmonica. Jam sessions while camping = THE BEST!
What a fun camping trip. So jealous that you have warm enough weather to do that still. Such pretty jewlery- Love the quadrapus!
Oh man! I love the pic of Lainey in what looks like a canoe? And the one of both girls riding in that umbrella stroller- how sweet! Really would love some Mark Poulin jewelery! What a fun looking camping trip!
I’ve never tried camping with the kids yet. May have to do that next spring. Looks like you all had a great time! Totally in love with the dinosaur necklace. My daughter would love it!
Cute jewelry! I’m voting for you at The Bump!
Playing the guitar was on my bucket list too. So I decided that before I turned 40 I would start to learn. My son and I decided to take lessons together….love every moment of it. He was only 9 when we started the lessons. I love the memories that we will have of doing this together!
even your camping is inspirational! Love all the photos and especially the pics of Nella and the boys.
A guitar for mom, tambourine for Lainey, and maraccas for Nella, all sharing their musical talent for the renewal of the camping vows. Seriously, found your blog awhile ago. Love it, the photography, the inspiration, the power of words. Embrace your journey!!!!
You may have inspired me to go camping! Looks like it was a great time with the family!
Love Love Love your blog!
Looks like a great time camping. Loved all the pics and the jewelry rocks!
Gosh, I don’t even like camping, but you make it look like a riot!
camping is one of our faves! Awesome photos! & I, too, would love to learn how to play the guitar! (maybe we should learn together?!)
those babies are dreamy! I say grab a guitar and go for it. I play the clarinet, not so cool around a fire!! π
First of all, I VOTED!!! And secondly, you are SOOOO the guitar rocking gal. Make it happen (in all of your free time!). And can I win something!!! (Not that that is why I am following you but really!) And sorry if I sound nuts but my little love turned one on Saturday and go the unfortunate gift of double ear infections which equals no sleep here in our house : (
I love the things you do. Camping? I’ve done it a few times at a music festival with no running water for 5 days/4 nights. I wouldn’t do it for the hell of it though.
I never tire of looking at your artistic snapshots of life, especially your amazing daughters.
Love the jewelry! Can’t decide on a favorite!
I agree I would LOVE to play guitar! It’s soooo cool. As always perfect pictures and wonderful wrting!!
Insanely jealous that you can camp in November! Looks like so much fun.
Great pictures! I’d love the learn to play the guitar as well!
So reading your blog, AND listening to Ingrid Michaelson makes my heart happy! What more could a girl ask for.
K, I totally love the lady in the background, taking great measures to get just the right picture. I’m guessing a mommy.
I live in coastal SC and just took my 3 year old camping at the beach last summer and he loved it!
Love the jewelry! So pretty!
And thanks for the great holiday craft ideas from your last blog post!
Kelli, I love reading your blog. Your positive words always give me that bite in the ass I need to get through the day!!
Been voting every day. Good luck!!!
thank you for reminding me to vote every time you do a new post…I would forget if you didn’t! and thank you for introducing me to the quadrapus, I’ve never known one. And thanks for sharing my husband’s love of camping!
just love the picture of the girls strapped into the stroller together. π
It’s been too long since we’ve been camping. Thats how my man and I first met was at a friends camping b-day gathering, so fun!…Quadrapus? too funny, I love it!
Man, I want to go camping so bad.
and I love Mark Poulin’s jewelry! So cute!
LOVE the necklaces! So pretty!
I so wanted to be that girl. That laid-back, super cool guitar playing girl. I saved up and bought a sweet (used) acoustic with it’s own worn in, hard shell case when I was in my early teens. I loved that thing. For many, many months. Then I really wanted new clothes so I sold the guitar to go shopping. I regret that still.
Dear Mark, I would sure like to be the random commenter!
Dear Kelle, I love your blog. Love your heart. Love your sweet daughters. π
I LOVE the mother daughter necklace concept. That sits close to my heart
Love the necklaces & the earrings. Will have to check this out for some unique Christmas presents!
You may miss the midwest, but this midwester is very jealous of your camping in mid november π
I’m a little less daunted now to take my kids camping (2 years old and 7 months), but I live in Vermont so camping in November might not be as awesome as you had it. I’ll get back to you in July π
I wish it was warm enough to camp here, too!
But the pictures made me smell backyards and creeks and forest preserves again, so it was worth it. π
Love the charms and boxes…
When I saw you guys went camping… I almost died! My husband and I LOVE camping and I haven’t told him yet but every time we go I dream about the day we bring our littles-to-be with us. Your pictures are beautiful as always, and I love Mark’s work! Would love to win a little something for myself for the holidays π Cheers!
I really hope you win! Your blog inspires me to be a better blogger!
You’re posting about camping, and it’s -25C here in Alberta, Canada and we are huddled in our homes, sipping hot chocolate, and praying for the poor less fortunate souls (human and animal alike) who are stuck outside. I will always wish -25C did not exist. I am jealous of your weather!
Oh I agree….a sit-around-the-campfire experience isn’t complete without a guitar-sing-along π
My VOTES are in….you & your blog rock Kelle & deserve to win that title!
Loving Mark’s designs…so unique! Especially the mother/daughter WHALE set….may have to add that to my xmas wishlist π
And as always Kelle…LOVING your photos and those gorgeous girls of yours.
xo
You totally make camping look like something I’d love, which I’m pretty sure I don’t! It’s your amazing pics and words that have me believing. I think I just might have to wait for warmer weather & give camping a try. My kids will love me for it!
What a fun camping trip! Thanks for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love reading your blog. I wish I could play guitar too. Sooo envious of those who can. I’m going to get my 15 year old one for Christmas as she;s a talented singer and I think she would do well with it. I love your photos too…the dog with it’s eyes closed…too perfect.
You are so much more brave than I! Camping isn’t something I could do with kiddos that young!
You are so much more brave than I! Camping isn’t something I could do with kiddos that young!
i already own 2 of mark’s magical necklaces and i would love to add to my small collection. they are so whimsical and wonderful….like you!
I’m so voting every chance I can π
and i would like Lainey’s plaid madras dress in my size please…looks so comfy and happy.
You make me jealous, camping right now here would be awfully cold! Love all the pics!
Kelly,
I just love reading your Blog! After reading it the first time, you inspired me and I went out and bought my first “nice camer”, I am in the process of learning how to use it which is not an easy task, lol! I have been reading for awhile now but this is the first time leaving a comment. Your little girls are beautiful and I know how you must feel about them both. My little Ava is 10 months old and her birthday is January 13, 2010, so her and Nella are close in age. They are just amazing in how day to day you can see a difference in how they are growing and getting smarter each day. Just wanted to drop by and tell you how you are such a wonderful mother and such an insperation. Oh and Ava’s First Year Book is in progress, and I am super excited about it!
Amanda
Myrtle Beach, SC
where did you get that blanket that i keep spotting in your posts?
and i’d love to win that gift cert.! cute stuff!
As always I love getting a sneak peek into your life. Nella is so delicious – I don’t know how you get anything done!!
Those necklaces are so super cute.
Love the camping photos. So much fun.
I bought my husband a guitar for our first anniversary, and he said he’d learn to play it when he got time. We celebrated our 6th anniversary this summer. The guitar is still in the case. *sigh*
Your blog has healed my broken heart. Thank you so much for showing us life is more than struggles and hard times but about the journey of just being.
π I owe you so much for showing me life is worth living.
Looks like so much fun!! Just roasted marshmallows in the fireplace in NY, can’t beat a perfectly browned gooey mess!
My two year old has been pretending his whipper snipper toy is a guitar and tries to strum it. I’m thinking he may be a guitarist as well. Good luck on learning how to play!
That one pic of Lainey… heart-melting. I’m sure you know which one I’m talking about :] Can’t get enough of your photography!
Lainey’s red wellies are to die for!I could do with a tic tac toe set of earring in my life, how fun!
Kelle- love seeing the lil’ girlies. You should totally rock out on the guitar…
I love Love LOVE the camping pictures! Our family has been going camping since my oldest was one! It is so much fun! I think everyone has a table cloth like that and the blue splatter coffee cups! (Coffee with cream tastes SO much better camping!)
Thank you for sharing!
I just wanted you to know that I voted for you! π Oh, and jealous that you got to go camping in November…here in Canada it’s too cold to go camping now. Well, at least for me. π
My husband bought me a guitar for Christams pre-babies (that was 9 years ago, ouch!) — an awesome one, I might add, and I still have not learned to play even though it is on my bucket-list. If you start to take lessons, I am going to have to drop something off my to-do list and start learning, too! I need something to jumpstart me so that he doesn’t give it away or sell it or something.
Love the camping photos! Looks like you guys had a great time! As always, still enjoying your blog!
Love,
Angela
I’ve never been camping because I’m such a city girl, but I’ve been really wanting to lately. Maybe I will. π
love the link to mark! already picked out some christmas presents!!!
Oh man, I wish I could play the guitar. I see people play all the time and I’m like, “man, I wanna strum.” And then I keep walking. π
My husband was walking by and looked over my shoulder as I was reading and said, “Let’s have an adorable girl like that!!” seeing a photo of Lainey. Maybe I’ll get kids sooner than anticipated thanks to you, haha.
I wish i could go camping in florida. Pennsylvania is fun to camp in but i bet florida sun would make it all the more amazing:)
Love everything about this…I need to start a bucket list…and add pulling out the guitar at the campfire to it as well.
camping looked like fun! sad to say i’ve never been camping =(
We’ve got snow coming… in the next few days… so its hella cold here…. highs of -2.. haha
have a great Thanksgiving day/week! We’re expecting pics of course !
hugs
juli
The camping trip seems like the perfect family thing to do right before holiday madness! Everyone seemed to have a great time!!
Christmas radio 24/7? I’m jealous. I LURVE Christmas music, and decorations. Did I mention decorations? My husband kindly told me it was too early for Christmas at our house. Black Friday can not come soon enough. That is when he turns me loose on our house and finally embraces the Christmas spirit. I mean after all it’s no fun to listen to Christmas music alone. π
Such gorgeous photos, gorgeous littles, and gorgeous jewelry.
So brave of you to camp with little ones. Oh how I wish I could take pictures like these. Then my life too, would look beautiful:)
My husband and I used to be hard core campers, out every weekend and always with a tent – none of this motorized camper sissy stuff! We haven’t been out since our son was born (19 months ago) but the possibility is resting like a gorgeous golden glow on the horizon. We’ve just got to get through our winter here in Canada first π Love the blog, admire your spirit, find inspiration daily. xoxox
Thanks for the blog Kelle and of course all of the beautiful pictures! You have inspired me to take more pics of my littles!
Melony
You are an excellent photographer! I felt like I was along camping myself. I had a lovelt time, by the way!
Joy K. in S.C.
Ok, I have said the same thing, I really want to learn to play the guitar. I have visions of being outside in a meadow with blowing tall grasses with my children running barefoot around me while I play for them!!
Have to say, reading that you’re adding guitar strumming swagger to your already hip talent set caused my mind to instantly spin upon a future post of groovy campfire song contests with friends and littles. O, I sure hope Santa stuffs a nice six string gueetar in your stocking, sister. π And sing one for the forlorn unicorns.
We have not been camping a so long and now I think I’ll have to plan a weekend. Post baby- all things new again π
Love the camping pictures! I wish I could get my family to do something like that! :]
Oh man, is Nella adorable in her hat rockin out on the tambourine. Lainey is just getting so big and looking like such a little girl. They are both darling. How did they do sleeping in the tent?
I voted.
I love the tic tac earrings and the little owl necklace!
Love the Quadrapus! So cute!
Been voting for you!! And you are so brave taking those littles camping! Way more brave than I am.
Learning how to play guitar is on my bucket list too. As we are sailors (the low-key cruising variety), I always think how nice it would be to pick strings at my leisure while tucked away in an anchorage, watching the sun melt into the water and filling the air with wonderful tones and melodies. Yup, on the list.
Thanks for the offer too. Cute stuff!

Cute stuff!

It’s snowing in Seattle! And I’d love one of those necklaces!
Dreaming of the days that we will be able to put the down jackets away and huddle up around the fire!
Embrace life, you have found your new normal—that’s a huge step! Revel in it & bless yur family for Thanksgiving
much love & hope, Cathy
I feel ya…I know a LITTLE on guitar and should get it out of the depths of my closet again…shake off the dust…learn how to tune it..umm…maybe later. HA
Honestly, my real true desire…piano π ONE DAY!
I didn’t think it would ever be possible, but you actually made hot dogs look delicious and like art! What fantastic camping pictures!
That jewelry is SO cute!
campfires, marshmellows and rubber boots!!! Love!!
Looks like yall had a fabulous time!
Super cute necklaces….super cute family!
Voted (again). You’re a better woman than I…I shudder at the thought of camping with two kids! Well, that and the bugs.
I tried to learn the guitar myself for just such bonfire occasions. It was too hard for me. π
Pick me. Because I love you. π
I love the photo of Nella in the tent, so nice and cozy. Makes me want to take my baby camping, but definitely not here right now.
It is winter here all of a sudden. Snow, bitter cold, and we’ve been couped up in the house for days now. The only thing missing in our house is a fireplace.
Great post. How do you make something like a camping trip look like no work at all? We’ve taken our girls once and I had forgotten how much fun we had.
Love camping! Love your blog!
This post totally makes me want to go camping! Looks like you had a great time! And I think that this jewelry is adorable!
I know you miss Michigan sometimes and as fall wraps up here and winter moves in (from 68 degrees today to 35 degrees tomorrow) I look at your pictures of camping and feel the same jealousy! Wish we could still be enjoying our warm camping weather, and yet wouldn’t have it any other way!! Thanks for another great post. After I put my littles to bed I love opening your blog to see a new post. LOVE it.
Have a great Thanksgiving!! I’m doing two of your crafts tomorrow.
Ok…that is the cutest jewelry I’ve ever seen! So unique!
and…I voted for you!

First off can I just say that I am in love with Nella. She is so darn cute, and I her personality just shines through each picture. Secondly, I too love camping.

I wish I knew how to play as well…too many string…too stubborn fingers π
KELLE< thanks for sharing your life with us as always. Good luck with the guitar. I never got into camping, but you and your friends make it look fun. You sure know how to live, and have fun! I always love seeing the big brothers with the little girls. The neclaces, jewelry looks great! So nice to see another giveaway~
for the first time I can remember in my entire life, I didn’t go camping once this summer…i missed it so much. I wish it was still warm and dry enough here to go camping without needing a ton of waterproof clothing and a lot of layers.

Could this be my lucky day? I’m feelin’ it, bring on the winner….ME!
PS. Love the shot of Nella in the light alone in the tent and the big brother climbing the tree, he looks just like his daddy!
Love the “sleeping” picture and the one of Nella in the tent! Christmas music is playing in our house now also, I love the holiday season!
I enjoy this blog like nobody’s business!
I loved the camping pictures. They actually made me want to give it a shot. Maybe. π
Grasshoppers totally creep me out but that picture was so cool. Only you could make a grasshopper cool.
Of course I voted π Nothing makes me smile more than your blog (besides my own babies!) I finally bought myself a guitar this year as well. Hoping to pick it up after the holidays!
Love this post! My parents took me out camping when I was a newborn, so I learned how to camp before I learned a lot of other things! My mom still tells the story of a lady in a canoe enraged that my parents had ME out on the lake in a canoe as well.
I am getting married in just less than two months, and every time I read your blog, it makes me excited for the future and for kids someday and for the sense of magic and wonder little ones stir up in us. I love your zest for life. It is contagious!
Aww I love camping! And you’re so right about how much better coffee tastes when the water has been boiled over a big fire!
I am envious of a November camping trip with friends! There is nothing quite like the smell of campfire in everything and everyone! Treasure the snuggling in the sleeping bag with your littles – they grow so fast! π
Love your photos, love your blog, love your story.
Pick me, pick me!!!

Okay, sorry if all my attempts to post my comment appear. I can’t tell if they are there or not. I swear I’m not trying to cheat!
I dont love camping – I am a 4 walls and a roof kinda girl!
But it does look like loads of fun π
I love your blog and your carefree take on “Enjoying the Small Things”. You remind me to slow down and enjoy the small things in my life! Thank-you!
i love that little necklace!
Thank you, as always, for your post! Your words and photos always take my breath away!! Good luck learning to play the guitar. You are right, it would be perfect for camping!
love camping. love reading because i have a sweet nella of my own but we call her lyssie
Kelle,
I am OBSESSED with your blog. I’m a photography enthusiast, and I just LOVE looking at all the pictures of your beautiful family, and the stories behind each one.
My best friend’s little sister, Katelyn, has DS, and she’s my favorite person in the whole world. She’s almost 6 now, and still can’t speak so well, but she’s learning sign language now. She’s about the size of a 3 year old, beautiful, and hilarious. While I’m away at school I don’t get to see them, so I find myself living vicariously through you and your family.
Your family is beautiful, as are your posts. I can only pray to be half as blessed as you are when I start my own family when I’m older. Thanks so much for your blog! I’m addicted (have I mentioned I love your music too? Seriously, I think if we met we’d get along SO well.) and have been voting for you incessantly. π
<3 Kieran
You almost make me want to go camping… almost. You always make me want to squeeze every wonderful moment out of this little life… always.
I love your blog and I like Mark Poulin’s work. Have a beautiful day!!! ::)))
Beautiful as always Kelle…and you’ll be rocking that guitar in no time babe…lotsa love to you and yours. x
LOVE that last photo! Supporting the “local” artists ~ wonderful. Sign me up for some Mark creations!
π
I love your blog. And I am SO excited for this giveaway! Pick me! π
I see that you take that fantabulous blanket EVERYWHERE with you. I so need to either find one or make one. The one I had in college was in shambles. I will one day get around to camping again. I love that you braved it with your littles. I love that you show them all along the way how great life is and to never skip a beat. π
i tried very hard to get to the jewellery site…but when i clicked on ‘visa’..it wouldn’t accept. I wanted to buy 3 different items… but..ut wouldn’t go through. then it said…go to paypal and there’s an area in the lower left corner where you can bypass paypal.. i couldn’t find it. maybe i’m a luddite when it comes to technology.. but i would love to buy some of his stuff..i’m all over his work….just cannot access it..
Your blog always had the best music!
m/ Rock on Unicorn, rock on! m/
HI!!Love family camping trips, the work of getting it organized and all the dirty smelly campfire clothes, it is ALL worth it!!
I also have a bucket list!!!And I love adding to it and marking things off!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,
hugs 2 U,
jamie–mimi
Magic always happens when close to nature.
Your jewelry box must be full of treasures. I will have to check out Mark’s work.
Have a Happy Thnaksgiving.

three cheers for camping!!
Got 6 inches of snow today in Ellensburg, WA. My daughter was in heaven. I’m sure by the end of winter I’ll be over it but for now we are making the most of every snow flake that falls.
Your camping trip looked amazing! What an amazing experience for your girls.
Voting with fingers crossed! and what a cute little necklace!
Without or without guitar you girls are already rockstars … and Nella all the more so, with her tambourine! As always, thank you for sharing!
Love that jewelry!
Oh, it’s been soo long since I’ve been camping. At least 15 years. I dream about it sometimes. I should make my husband take me.
The “Quadrapus” necklaces are so adorable!
I get so much from you, I learn every day! Your lifestyle, your attitude – it is so unique and rare these days. I’d love to have this gift – that would enlight my world, which is a little dark right now.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE camping! My husband and I go to the same place my parents took us as kids… We’ll definitely be taking our future kiddos there. I found out this last year that it’s also where my grandparents took my dad and his sisters. Our kids will be the 4th generation!!
I’d love to win the Mark giveaway too. π
Can’t believe you guys are camping in November. So jealous!
Definitely the most beautiful photograph of hotdogs I’ve ever seen. I can practically taste the smokey goodness.
Love your new sponsor! Yeah!
Oh that last picture of your two babies is just precious. They are so so beautiful and I LOVE reading about the happenings in your life and I LOVE your photos.
More people in the world should place as much value in family as you do. The world would be a much nicer place.
Hi Kelle-
I found your blog about a week ago at a friends blog site. YOU ARE FANTASTIC.. and I enjoy reading your posts tremendously.
I love seeing what your girls are doing everyday.. it’s a bright spot in the day!
The necklaces are beautiful!
Have wonderful day.. and it’s always snowing here in beautiful.. snowy.. Santa’s playground..
North Pole, Alaska.
Your friend,
Rocksee
yay. so beautiful. all of it.
Some of my best memories from childhood were from camping with my fsmily. great post:)
Great photos! Love the jewelry too. I’ve been a long-time lurker. I need to comment more. Love your words and babies π
-Sarah W.
What a fun weekend!
And, Mark makes beautiful pieces!
I remember the local teenage girl with the guitar slung over her shoulder walking to a friend’s house and thought it was soooo cool.
I remember the young local girl with the guitar slung over her shoulder walking to her friend’s house and I thought it was sooooo cool.
I went camping for the first time this summer. We took my 4 yr old and then 5 month old. It was awesome. We’ve decided we’re going to do a lot more of it next summer. I always wanted to play the guitar too. Probably because I can’t be a country start without playing one. Guitar Hero is the closest I’ll ever get. Not sure I could handle any more “buttons” than that, lol.
Great pics, Kelle! Love the new jewelry! I’ll save the link as they could be fun for the child life world. Enjoy the Florida sunshine…our snow and gray skies are coming soon. But, we have had a spectacular year of sunshine!
Is it bad that I get excited when you have a new post? Yikes! Your blog and your pics make me smile and remind me, inspire me to be a better mom and a better human. Cheesy I know…but thank you.
I can SO see you belting out Colorado Rocky Mountain High around the campfire! When you come back to Michigan, I’d love to show you our special camping spot on the water…it’s the BEST!
Loving the late fall camping post since it’s a little too chilly for me to embark on that adventure right now … but I did write about our camping trip with friends in the summer and how it really brought me back to enjoying all the glory of life with my wonderful husband and lovely friends, so your post made me happy, as always!! Happy Tuesday!
Your photos brought back so many beautiful memories of going camping with my dad and brothers when I was young. I miss that. But my husband and I flying out tomorrow to see my parents and one of my brothers for Thanksgiving, about which I’m ecstatic. Oh, and that photo of Lainey creeping down the wooded path is adorable. Thanks, as usual, for sharing.
Winning that giveaway would be pretty brilliant too. π
Your little girls are beautiful, and you are such and inspiration! i love your blog!!!
dreamerklc@gmail.com
Oh, and I also just began learning to play the fiddle. Better late than never, I suppose. You should totally go for the guitar. π
Your blog has jumped the shark, girl. There was a time when I came here because I enjoyed it – now I just come here because it’s like a bad train wreck. Is there nothing you won’t ho yourself out for? You seriously need to get over yourself. Mrs. Odie2 is right about you. And your book title is lame.
Maybe you should ask Santa for guitar lessons! I love your camping pictures. It makes me want to go, but something about 40 degree weather in Indiana makes me think otherwise! Happy Thanksgiving! Off to vote again…
Nella’s hair is so adorable!!! She is such a rockstar!! These pics are beautiful Kelle! I love that you camp amongst palm trees π Oh to live in Florida!!
I cannot wait until your book comes out. Your words are flawless.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Love,
Tara

Brett rules. Any man that is willing to put some Christmas music in his garage is a total keeper!
My favorite pic is of them sleeping but not sleeping. I chuckled at that one. Thank you again for sharing your story!
The Bump website only lists the category winners, but doesn’t allow you to vote for best overall blog like it has the past several days. Am I missing something? π
I miss the mountain smell from camping in CO! As usual, your words and pictures tell a great story! π
Voted too! π
So I’ve not thought I’d be brave enough to take Ella (2 years old) camping, but this inspires me. Maybe this spring (when we wouldn’t freeze) we’ll strike out and try it. We camped pre-baby…I can do camping with a toddler!
Thanks for all your inspiring words to those of us also muddling through!
The camping trip looks like so much fun!
M & M’s for our trip out west!
π
love love love the jewlery as always! can’t wait for my little girl to get big enough to wear matching necklaces π
Love the camping pictures. There is nothing better than spending time in nature with one’s you love. Great family memories.
I vote daily for you on the bump blogs π
Have a Happy Thanksgiving Hampton Family!
Love reading your blog! Beautiful jewelry π
Kelle, I love your camping pictures! there is nothing better that getting in touch with mother earth and remember what real things are all about! I’ve been voting girl… I hope you win!!!
This post actually made me want to go camping AND take guitar lessons!! π Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Kelle!!
1. How can you look so good even when you camp?
2. No mention of fire ants and lots of people lying on the ground. I used to live in Florida and just writing “fire ants” brings back memories.
3. Loved all the pictures.
susan
I grew up in a home of guitar and piano players and there were times when I would beg for it to stop and everything to be quiet. Now, I just miss it constantly.
I wish I could enjoy camping. I just can’t get into the no shower for days and the smell of the campfire. It all grosses me out. I love the idea of it, but not the exicution of it. π
I have been enjoying Christmas tunes since Nov. 1, not every day, but once in a while. I will start listening every day after Thanksgiving!
that “quadrapus” charm is super cute!!!!
Love looking at your pictures..looks like everyone had a great time camping!! WE love to go camping too especially the kids..
You make camping look fun!
Hi Kelly, I have never commented before but wanted you to know I LOVE your blog! I love your spirit, your beautiful pictures, and your love of life. And those babies of yours, too cute. I have voted for your website lots. I think you should win! Your website rocks. I tell lots of people about it. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
Jen from NH
The music is perfect for this post…good music, great picture, and beautiful words – like always!
Camping in November? How cool is that?
We have loads of snow, and a freezing cold front coming in. I think I might do some indoor camping π
I’m not much for camping, but your pictures made me want to pack up and set out for a few days around the campfire! Definitely got a laugh out of the picture with everyone “sleeping”.. too funny! Thanks for sharing! π
I need to get the courage up to camp with our five year old, I can’t seem to get my head past the idea of trying to pack up the tent and leave camp at 2 am when she can’t fall asleep!
I admire you so much for taking your little ones camping. My husband wants to go but I just can’t imagine doing it with little ones. Maybe next summer we can try – it’s to cold in Kansas now!
“Heart” listening to Christmas Music all the time & getting in the Spirit! It is supposed to snow today in Utah, so looking forward to that! Happy Thanksgiving!
Kelle, my advice? Learn the ukulele! It couldn’t be easier, and people think it is just so adorable when you pull out a tiny guitar. Plus, they’re super cheap!
Camping days are over in Colorado, but it looks like you guys had an amazing time!
My family has gone tent-camping every summer since as long as I can remember. It started out when my youngest brothers were babies & now we go with grandbabies! It’s an experience that I always treasure. I’m so glad you were able to go make memories of your own (guitar or not!).
Thank you for true inspiration!
I would love to win something, so I can get my mom a fun gift!
Camping is so much family fun. I would still be camping minus the fact that we have -27 Celsius weather. so it’s inside we are. And grateful for a heater that is doing it’s job fantastically!
Love the pictures of your family and friends. How blessed you are.
Win, sure, I would love to win. But I never win anything so in the mean time, I will VOTE and hope like crazy that YOU win! Cause you really do deserve it!

Kelle. As usual your pictures are breathtaking. I would switch landscaping scenery with you as we speak. Its 12 degrees here in Minnesota this morning and the snow arrived last week. Sun and warmth would be great today! Take it easy Kelle. You’re the sunshine in my cold state today!
My bro-in-law is a pro when it comes to campfire concerts…this past summer, he covered Johnny Cash like a rock star!!
I would love to win a gift certificate for a new little piece of bling!!!
Debbie K.
I am a new follower to your blog and love it! You are such an inspiration! I love camping…especially when smores, campfires and guitars are involved:)
I love reading about your family everyday! Your girls are so sweet and your pictures are amazing! Keep it up!
Love, Love, Love camping with the little ones. I can’t believe how warm it is there…I can’t even do that here and I am in California. You all have us beat. What a great way to start off the holidays….I smell a tradition brewing.
My dad plays guitar:) When you learn to play a good get together/camp song is “she’ll be coming around the mountain when she comes”.
Voted and posted for all my friends to vote!
I admire your bravery in camping post-babies. Haven’t tried it yet (3 littles: 6, 5, 3), but your pictures make me want to bundle them up, throw the tent in the car and hit the mountains.
I love how your photos captured the sweetest moments of your camping trip. Thank you for sharing!
I love Tom Petty! I haven’t dared go camping with the kids yet, but I feel it calling my name. Now that you’ve done it, I can totally do it right? I guess it may be different camping in Florida versus camping in Idaho. I worry about how to keep my kids warm and how to get them to fall and stay asleep. You’re an inspiration.
The pic with everyone “sleeping” is too cute! Wish it was warm enough for camping here, but alas, its 25 degrees this morning in Kansas. On the up side, maybe we’ll get some snow soon! π
I love music, but am so not musical at all. It still fells like summer/fall here in GA. I can’t believe it is almost Thanksgiving!
I checked out Mark’s site! It is fabulous. Darling things. I would love to win a gift certificate to help me with my Christmas shopping! Thanks Kelle! You Rock! π
Love Nella’s fuzzy hair glimering in the sunlight!
Beautiful jewlery btw… I am sure my Jake would love eating it when I am hugging him close!
Have an awesome Thanksgiving!

Wow!! I really am in love with Mark’s jewelry!!! I have 2 sisters that will love his stuff. Just when I could not figure out what to get them. Thank you for posting this sight!!! I know exactly what I am going to get and I think I might get me and my daughter something too!
I think your blog is great! Another friend of mine turned me on to your blog. My dad’s best friend/cousin had D.S. and I was lucky to have him in my life. I was lucky that my dad made sure that we loved everyone for who they were. I am even tearing up now thinking about him.
love the homeschooling story π
I really need to make a bucket list. This post really reminded me of that. Love the camping pictures. I am waiting for your pictures of the lighting of Third Street last night in Naples. I took my son there and saw you from afar. We had a ball playing in the “snow.” Hope you and your girls did too!
I enjoyed the camping pictures- it looks like a new tradition has been discovered? The girls are getting so big!
My brother-in-law plays guitar and it always makes hanging out with a cold beer a little cooler. =) I love the new sponsor, his art pieces would look awesome in my little guys room!
Camping has always been special to my family. It gives us all that peace you can never find in the city.
It’s 82 degrees here in Texas today, but it’s supposed to get down to 47 degrees on Thanksgiving day! WOO HOO! Thanks for the fun giveaway.
haha, i bought a guitar about oh 4 years ago. I sometimes take it out of its box in the closet and just strum a note or two them put it right back.
Yeah! Giveaway!
I wish I was as good a Mama as you are! My blog would read, “Today I did laundry while the kids worked on school.” I think I need to go shopping to buy some brightly colored clothes to inspire us to live up to their expectations of excitement!
BTW, my dh bought me a guitar and I have no clue how to play it!
Monica
I so look forward to your posts and pics each and everyday.
It’s snowing and blowing here in Idaho! Kids out for snow day! Love it!
Oh, the guitar! My dad inspires me to play the guitar…and I’ve always loved listening to him strum his favorite tunes when I was a little girl, even to this day~ Perhaps he’ll be the one to give me my first lesson! π
Camping in November? I can’t imagine… Our friends in Winnipeg have tons of snow already, and I hear we’re supposed to get some by the end of the week. I often envy your Florida-lifestyle!
Love the new necklaces!
I love love love to camp. We have not taken the plunge yet and gone with the kiddos. We have three and I just haven’t gotten up the courage. LOL Hopefully soon!
Makes me want to take my boys camping!
I love camping, too. I love the smell of campfire in my hair and clothes. Something about it just makes me go… mmmmm. Yum.
We haven’t been camping in awhile, but maybe next summer.
And it’s going to snow here in MN! We’re supposed to get like 8 feet, I think. Ok, maybe only 2. Alright, fine, 6″.
But it’s only 12 degrees now. Wish I was in FL! π
I voted!
I cant wait to take my two girls to go camping next spring… I always thought it was a “boy” thing but you showed me girls can do it too, and have FUN. Beautiful pictures – put a smile on your face pictures.
Once again loving your blog! I would like to learn how to play guitar one day too π
I so love that quadrapus. So cute! I need to go camping. Looks like a great time.
Love the pictures of the boys holding up Nella…precious!
Camping with a baby? I’m not sure I can handle that. Well, I AM sure – I can’t π
great camping photos!
We did a camping trip this year as well and it was great..freezing…but great.
Living in MN with 15 degree weather today, I always love stopping in at your blog and getting a dose of warmth and sunshine. Thanks!
I also have the campfire/guitar girl wannabe syndrome. Just no incentive or time to try. And dang, it hurts your fingers!
Looks like you had a beautiful time. I always try to wait until after Thanksgiving to break out the Christmas music. It makes it even more special!
I learned to play the piano because mom said I’d be a hit at parties. Never once played at a party (just not cool, mom) and I can’t take a piano to a campfire! Go for the guitar. And Loving Lainey’s camping outfit!
Love the pic where everyone’s eyes are closed! Maybe they were all wishing your awesome camping trip would never end!
super cute necklace. would love one!
My 4 year old looks through your pics with me periodically (Lainey is always doing something fun that he also likes), and today he goes, “are those the kids that live on the ocean? We live far far away from the ocean, right mom?” We love, love your blog. It really brightens our day!
Camping memories…my sleeping bag always seemed
to be over a pile of rocks. And yes, someone always had a guitar. Great giveaway!
Oh, we love camping too! We didn’t attempt it this summer with a newborn and all, but next year for sure!
I love how you’re camping and it’s -15 degrees here in British Columbia today!
Camping also brings out the best in my home when we come back… clean floors, actual beds to sleep in. It’s awesome.
~Karla
Camping in November?! I can’t even imagine! Right now where I sit..I am staring out the window at a park covered in about 5-6 inches of snow! And the temperature here today is -17 celcius! Enjoy your sunshine & heat!
The necklaces you and Lainey are wearing are adorable! I have been looking everywhere for some kind of necklace for myself that represents my son…
Love the camping pictures! Camping with my fam are some of the best memories from my childhood.
Love the camping pics! We took our daughter camping for the 1st time this past summer she was 11 months and loved it!
Off to check out Mark’s site and vote for you!
Kelle – I laughed out loud plus a little snot coming out of the nose when I saw the pretend sleeping picture. So funny!
Kim
Beautiful camping photos! You truly do capture the small things π
looks like you’ve got a great handle on life. your family is beautiful; thanks for a glimpse of it!
Love love the camping trip! I *attempted* playing the guitar but instead played the piano and clarinet (of which I still wish I played). I think I voted…I’m confused how it works but I kept clicking the picture/link. So hopefully that contributed in a small form.
What a beautiful post!! Am I supremely jealous of your beautiful family getting to enjoy some fall camping while my girlies and I are camped out here at home trying to stay warm during an unseasonably cold November blizzard. Enjoy!!
Love the necklaces and camping, looks wonderful! Right now we have 9 inches of snow!
It looks like you had such an amazing time! Winter and still in shorts and tanks, like AZ!
awesome!
Momma wants some bling!!
Can I just say how much I appreciate your blog? Seriously, I come and I’m refreshed, inspired, and encouraged. Thank you for putting a smile on my face, for expanding my musical horizon, and for showing me that perfection is not the goal in motherhood. I needed to hear that.
zachandjennie@hotmail.com
We camped so much when I was little. Italy and Spain are the ones I remember. Good times!
Love the beautiful pics. You’re definately braver than I to camp with littles. Looks wonderful though! Yesterday it was 65 and today its snowing in traverse city, Mi. So no camping for me for quite some time. Love the jewelry…especially yours and Lainey’s necklaces. So fun. Have a great and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family.
As always, love the photos! Nothing better than hiking with the fam.
I love camping! Here in Wisconsin camping weather is some time away…
I love camping! Here in Wisconsin camping weather is some time away…
I hear you on the camping. I have fond memories of growing up and camping with my family and now we are taking the kids and developing our own great times. Although, can’t really camp here in CO right now…brrrr….
i miss camping sooo incredibly much!! i haven’t been but a few times, but there is nothing like it! since we live in the midwest, our camping days are limited, but i definatly want to get out there with my 3 year old this coming summer. camping just offers such great memories:)

Love the camping pictures. I’m a country girl, and know the comfort that comes from getting out in the outdoors. I voted for your site, too!
We’re expecting a huge blizzard here in Utah! We’ll be staying inside with hot chocolate, fire and video. And DWTS finale.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your fam!
loooooove it as always!! camping is so much fun! there is nothing to distract you from family <3
Tried to learn guitar, but callouses looked bad on me! It hurt too much! But those earrings and necklaces would look awesome on e me! ..)
Love the octo necklace!
I totally agree on the Guitar thing. I started teaching myself on my son’s ukelele. Doesn’t sound quite the same! Might be a good Christmas gift! That and some of Mark’s fantastic jewelry!
Woohoo for nature! Love your blog!
matching necklaces- sweet! i’m not sure my tweener would buy it though. π

Camping is definitely the best! And a guitar definitely makes a special time even more special!
Camping in November! If only! It was warm enough here in Ottawa, Ontario for me to put up our Christmas lights, but I never would dream of camping with the little miss this time of year! We are expecting snow this weekend!!
Just a ques. Do you got summer temperature now?? thought it started getting colder over there..?
so ADORABLE, all of you guys!
love from Norway.. ♥(cold right now..)
Every time I read your blog, I add yet another thing to my list of to-dos to do with my babies. Right now (with a 14 m/o and a bun in the oven), I’m just waiting for the right time. But some day I will not only go camping with my babies, but I will also take them kite flying. Thank you, again, and always.
~Sarah
I’ve never been Real camping. Only camping in our backyard as a kid. But those memories are just as sweet to me. Building a fire with my dad, roasting marshmallows, and being able to go into my own bed at 3 am, when I realize sleeping on the ground isn’t that great. π
Love, love, love these photos of your camping trip Kelle! Looks like you all had a wonderful time. Wearing some Mark Poulin jewellery could act as a handy ice breaker and conversation starter at parties!
I’ve always wanted to play the guitar, too. We haven’t been camping with the kids yet, but we did do a big road trip in a motor home with all 3 last summer. What an adventure! π Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.
Looks like you guys had a great time!!! π
we aren’t having a white thanksgiving here…my family and i traveled down to seaside, florida for the week..YAY…
not snowing..i think its a bit humid and mid 70’s….but perfect for me!
love the jewelry!!
have a wonderful thanksgiving…
i love your blog..you are quite an inspiration to me…and help make me remember all i have to be thankful for…not just for this time of year…but everyday.
thank you kelle…
My hubby plays the guitar so I’m with you on the music. As for the camping, I’m envious of your pics and the timing. Snow flies this time of year at my house so camping is a little chilly.
Looks like you guys had a great time!!!!!
Your girls are too precious! I’m a little jealous of your camping trip! It looks like it was amazing (:
your post made me miss camping so much! Some of my favorite childhood memories are around that campfire with my family! and the guitar… lol
Wow- you get so many comments, I don’t know how you find the time to read them all.
I just wanted you to know that I found your blog a while back- I think right around Jan.
Because I followed the link from a different blog, I never bookmarked it and life went on.
Recently I stumbled on it again, and I have been reading your archives, a little bit each day.
I just want you to know that you inspire- and not for the obvious reasons.
Your take on parenting uplifts me.
I am a mom of 4 (13, 11, 7, and 1.5)
Things are so different now than they were 13 years ago when I started out as a new mom.
The network, the support, well everything you get from blogs and the internet just wasn’t there.
I am so thankful I have it now.
I have gone through a lot as a parent- the hardest being when my 2nd child was born with a heart condition that required a lot of hospital stays.
But even last night, while my 3rd child was in the ER with my husband and I was frantically waiting word at home to hear if his appendix needed to be removed I read this on your blog:
But, here’s the thing. Once you become a parent…once you start feeling a little funny and you buy that pregnancy test…once you see a pink plus sign…once you know it’s not just you anymore…well, you automatically carry around, for the rest of your life, an increased likelihood. To have your heart broken. And it’s a constant fear that we struggle to put to rest.
Oh fellow mama- so true are your words. X-tra chromosome or not, we worry. All. The. Time.
I also grew up in Michigan, now in Ohio- and long for your beach lovin’ days.
Thank you for your wonderful blog- I so wish we could hang.

Great shots, as always – looks like your camping trip was super fun We love to camp too but we’re pretty limited to July and August. While you were roasting marshmallows, we were clearing snowy windshields.
Have a great night :o)
Your posts always inspire me! π Love the jewelry!!
Great pictures – I wish I had your energy to take two little ones camping – but goodness knows my clean-freak 3 year old would not be a happy camper π
So the title of this post got me thinkin’…What are you doin’ in 2012?? You sure rock a major campaign – and you have already begun to change the world…I’m just sayin’ – think about it. {wink wink}
Looks like tons of fun!
E
tried playing the guitar years ago! would love to win the gift certificate!
your post today makes me miss camping on the beach in San Diego…we moved about a two years ago to northern California…which is beautiful but the beaches are definatley not as warm as southern California or Floridia for that matter!
Camping in November. I would never have thunk it. These pictures are amazing and it really looks like all of you had a great time. I especially love the pictures of the boys holding Nella in the air. adorable.
You have the most beautiful photos ever!
And your kids are so adorable!
Your necklace is super cute.
Voted! Looks like you had a fabulous time camping! I come from a family of ‘hard-core’ campers (backpacking, all the gear). I enjoy it in small doses. Sure is a ton of work to pack and unpack–but worth it for the memories (and the pics!). Would love a new necklace for the holidays!
Great pics as always. <3 I love the quadropus necklaces, those are adorable!
sending snowflakes your way from Seattle and slight jealousy of your tank top while camping. as always, thanks for sharing your wonderful stories and pictures.
Thank you for everything you do! You ROCK with or without a guitar!
I like pulling my babies this close to me under the sleeping bag to keep them warm and imagining that winds are howling outside and our tent and my arms is all that keeps us safe from the big bad storm.
I can completely relate to this, it’s one of the best feeling ever!!!!
I also rolled at the pic of the kids and dog with their eyes closed!!
There is no better family bonding activity as great as camping! Looks like you all had a wonderful time π

Love the pictures! The girls look like they like camping just as much as you.
Gotta go vote! π Fingers crossed!
And Happy Thanksgiving! So much to be thankful for, especially our little blessings.
Such cute jewelry!
Well, I am ALL OVER that jewelry designer for holiday gifts: mom, nieces, sisters–in-law, office-mate, friends!

I love his pieces!
I taught myself how to play guitar in college and even though I dont get to play it as often as I like, when I do, my kids love it and tell me I am their favorite rock star. That in and of itself is worth the effort of learning how to play π
I am in love with your blog, your photos, your babies, your crafts, all of it! Thanks for being an inspiration to so many.
Because of you, I take even more photos of my baby girl everyday (something that no one thought was possible!), and I enjoy every part of being a Momma, a woman, a wife, myself… so much more. You really are a rockstar!
Been voting every day…you totally deserve this!
Nella and Lainey get bigger by the post. As someone who’s been following since Nella’s birth, it’s so amazing to watch her grow π
Happy Monday!
Rachael
We LOVE, LOVE camping. In fact, we just spent the last 3 weekends camping! So fun! I haven’t gotten good enough with my guitar to bring it. The kids keep asking and I keep saying ONE DAY, my dears!! I’ll let you know when it happens. : )
Good luck learning Guitar Kellie! Looks like you all had a blast.
so fun! Thanks for the chance!
So jealous you can go camping in October/Novmeber!
You always play the best music on your blog. I often find myself heading to itunes right after I read your blog.
We have yet to brave tent camping post kids. Perhaps next summer. Looks like you had a great time.

LOVE those earrings!
LOVE those earrings!
Oh I looked so lovely! I wish I wasn’t so afraid of the woods in the dark, so I too could go camping sometime!
It would be nice to win, the jewelry was really beautiful!
I love this blog especially because it’s do with camping. I’m a sheltered gal and my fiance is the “caveman, camping, get yourself dirty but that’s okay, i’m living life” kind of guy and I’m slowly starting to become cave woman myself. Now that we have our bundle of joy, I made a promise that every minute we spend together is to spend it outdoors. I love it and my son certainly loves it too.
I can’t help with the guitar, but I sure did with voting for ya! Love the earrings π
Where do you get all of your cute stockings for your girls?? And you seriously made me crave a good camp weekend, however looking out my window at the blizzard makes me cower further into the house. π
That jewelry is so cute!! (And so are your little ones, of course. π ) You are inspiring me to plan a camping trip one day!
I SO wish I could play the guitar too! Or the piano! Or any instrument really. But, the guitar would be great…I’d love to bust it out for spontaneous musical moments with the fam.
Cute necklaces!
I love camping! In fact, the other day my son and I were talking about how we can’t wait to go camping again…but that will be a while for us as we were blanketed with 6 inches of snow tonight.
As always, loved the pictures.
I love to see you all camping and having a blast when my parents just got snowed in from a blizzard and got 3ft of snow! I hope to move somewhere warm like that some day…. Thank you for some more of life’s beautiful color!
Kelle,
You are a mommy inspiration. I love catching up with your blog while taking care of the “Littles” at the hospital!
I voted!!! and I adore that quadrapus. Too cute!!!
I would love to live somewhere where I could walk around in shorts in November!! Sooo jealous! π

i too, like the feeling of being safe in the tent..like once you’re inside the thin nylon walls and all cozy, nothing can touch you.
My husband got me a guitar one year for Christmas but I never learned to play it and it went to the pawn shop. Maybe someday I will get the urge again.

Meh.
I am sure you may not have time to read all these comments.
But I have popped in on your blog from time to time over the last few years. Watching your story evolve, and seeing the honest-to-goodness, genuine LOVE you all have swimming around you….. It makes my heart feel like it is going to burst. Continue to cherish eachother. You all are doing something right!
Oh, camping with littles! We have our favorite summer memories nestled in Colorado campgrounds! Your photos are amazing, your girls are perfectness…Thanks for sharing!

Love these charm necklaces! I already have one picked out to order for my daughter!
love your pics… you do a great job capturing lifes every day (but oh so memorable) moments.
Oddly enough–it is not snowing up here in Ontario! (In fact, it’s warm enough to go out in slippers and light sweaters. Eerie warm for St. Catherine’s/Grey Cup week/American Thanksgiving week….)
I, too, wish I had some musical talent. I’m worried that my kids would shush me, as I have no ear for music–but oh, how I would seem cool. π
Thanks for another great posting. Love the simple fun of the pics….
your camping trip look liked it rocked… so much love between the brothers and the girls… you can see it on all their faces…these pics were some of my favorite of lainey ever! she is a ham for the camera! thankyou for the light in your blog. it will help brighten my day…

Yes! A night around the campfire is just begging for a guitar. You can do it! And your girls will love it.
I adore the picture of sweet Lainey, with her shy girl smile, standing in the middle of the forest, looking totally stylish. It wouldn’t surprise me if she is the one to pull out the guitar someday around a campfire. That little girl seriously ROCKS!!!
Throughout November I have been stating one thing I am thankful for everyday. Today I am thankful for Enjoying the Small Things. Thank you Kelle and family for continued inspiration.

I get a tad bit jealous looking at your camping pictures… or any of your beach pictures for that matter…. it is below zero… and we have mounds and mounds of snow… it is quite chilly! Love the fun new sponsor! His jewelry is fun! I love how creative people are!!!
I’ve gone in and voted several times…but I couldn’t get it to work yesterday(tues.). You all have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Hugs to you!!!

it’s snowing it’s snowing it’s snowing up here! (manitoba, canada.) and, pardon the language, but it’s FRICKING cold!!! (yesterday was -4* Farenheit!) yes, that’s a minus.
winning your giveaway would sure off set all the crazy cold, and the realization that there’s still 40 degrees of coldness needing to be reached yet this winter before it starts to warm up! π
