Last night I had the pleasure of hosting a surprise party for Heidi’s birthday despite the fact her birthday was weeks ago, a fact that only helped keep any suspicion at bay.
Girlfriend was all gaping-mouthed shocked.
And my heart swelled seeing her happy and celebrated by our friends because my selfless, ever-serving friend deserved to have the tables turned.
The fall freak flag unfurled with glowy votives and autumn scents. Huddles of conversation buzzed in every corner, heads tipped in laughter, a stellar playlist drummed out beats, and the walls of my house said “thank you” repeatedly…they like company.
Every time we gather to celebrate–shifting our schedules to make time–I remind myself how grateful I am for these women, even though now with kids and sports and jobs and husbands, we see each other fewer and farther between. When we’re laughing and toasting and hugging and reminiscing, I always make note, “We should do this more often.”
We talked and laughed until the wee hours of the night.
Happy Birthday, dear sister friend.

The Girl Finally Rocks Braids.
…and is enamored with my phone. If she manages to score it off a surface in her reach, she goes right to scrolling her little pointers across the screen. It’s always the same: her body position, the intent little “o” on her face as she scrolls, and the angry fit that follows me taking it away.
…right here in River City!
And, this week she rocked new words: Dora (initiated by her sister, of course), apple and please.

yummy Fall Tea Collection tunic
We’re stoked for next week’s new adventure–little tyke soccer.
Brett and I spent a good five minutes gushing about the tiny size of these cleats today. And Lainey wants to wear them with dresses and skirts and pajamas.

Congratulations to the Okllo t-shirt winner, Comment #22–Colby~Megan~Hayden:
We love doggy kisses at our house- my husband thinks its gross too for the same reason. I think it’s hilarious! Sometimes quality is hard to get- but doing the best you can with the time and resources given- moms triumph every single day.
Colby~Megan~Hayden, please e-mail your contact info, with “GIVEAWAY WINNER” in the subject line, to kellehamptonblog@comcast.net. Thank you!

And just because Fridays are fun with free stuff, a random commenter on this post will be winning a free holiday scent warmer–your choice–courtesy of our sponsor, Jessica Clough’s Scentsy shop. (I am an addict now. I just got the Weathered Leather scent and fell in mad, mad love. It smells like old books and rich leather).
Tell me, what’s the last thing that made you laugh?
Mine: Thirty seconds ago, Brett comes running in from outside, all excited. “Dude, get your camera. There’s bunnies everywhere outside. It’s a freaking convention.” And then he lowers his voice and whispers, “I think they’re M-A-T-I-N-G.”
Thanks for spelling it, Brett. It’s a very, very bad word.
And while you’re at it…have a fabulous weekend.
Oh, check out this song by talented budding artist, Rachel Platten. Makes me happy, happy.

Love the post, great pictures as always. Enjoy the weekend!

Tonight in the grocery store with my just-turned-2 son, I couldn’t decide what kind if yogurt to get him. After stressing about HFCS and sugar and cost I finally asked him, “simon, what do YOU want??” And he said, “a spoon.” 🙂
A stupid Geico commercial just made me crack up. Beautiful party, looked like fun!
Yay! So sweet to celebrate friends!
XOXO,
Angie from Ohio
Last thing to make me laugh? 21-month-old Katy refusing to eat the new Cheez-Its I bought her because they have letters on them and she’s afraid to hurt them. Exact words: “Mama, noooo, leeeettteeeerrs!!! Noooo eat! No eat! Mama, leeettteeerrs!!”
She’ll pull the cat’s tail and sit on the cat’s head, but she won’t eat Cheez-Its with letters on them. Oy.
My little boy jumping on a trampoline for the very first time! Cracked.Me.Up! Have a great weekend, Hampton’s!
My crazy husband who won’t stop cracking jokes about my caffeine and sugar-high state that occurred bc of the venti iced pumpkin spice I just consumed!
My last laugh- trying to teach my 21 month old to properly say book- which she says ‘gook’. So- we said Ba-Ba-Ba-Book. To which she replied “ba ba ba Gook”. Stinker!!!
My nephew just said looked out the window at my car, turned to me and said is one and only phrase, “COOL CAR!”
laughs: My aunt sent Ellie a size 6-12 month elephant suit for halloween, and ellie wore it as matt came home from work.
sesame st glee parody. google it now.
and nella with your phone, so intent!
One of your friends in the party pictures has long red-brown hair and is wearing a black shirt with longer sleeves. Ask her where she got her jeans. They look really great on her!
I love little soccer cleats! Although these days- it’s just big (man) sized, muddy cleats strewn about our front hallway by a passionate teenage soccer player. (I actually posted today about soccer meaning so much more than just at game). I can’t wait to see more pictures of Lainey in her soccer gear (and dresses and pajamas).
The last thing that made me laugh today was four (very tall and still growing) teenage boys crammed into the back of our SUV after a soccer game. 19 month old Violet was smushed between them. They were a rainbow of ethnicities- teaching each other naughty sayings in French, Vietnamese and Spanish. She was enthralled with the spectacle they made for her. And she burst out with the most dramatic tears each time one of them would leave. Just the sheer goofiness of teenage boys makes me laugh.
The last thing that made me laugh? Dr Drew on Ellen. She is hilarious!
the four year old remarking about the m&m ice cream cone in the backseat… “and mama, it had chocolate and when i took a bite it was freezing FREEZING but freezing!” *waves hands in animated manner* – doesn’t sound that hilarious, but it was.
Laughing moment: While working on the tutu for my up coming Halloween costume…Black swan, my kitty thinks she needs to get a running start and slide across the Tulle I am working with(every 3 minutes)… I get mad for a second then just laugh becuase i know she is having a ball.
Have a great weekend!
My great dane fell asleep, and then proceeded to fall off the couch. I laughed so hard it then startled the cat sleeping next to me who jumped 5 feet in the air. Hysterics.
yesterday was my niece’s first birthday and we gave her her first ice cream cone all sticky & sweet, straight-up Nella-style if you will… she held the cone by the ice cream top and loved it for all of twenty seconds until she got a wicked brain freeze and started screaming at the top of her lungs flinging vanilla yogurt and sprinkles everywhere in TCBY! it was hilarious. =)
Hmm the last thing that made me laugh.
I was making dinner and i dont say My R’s its a rhode island thing.
I say Aah instead.
I asked my husband if he rolled up the Caa windows and my son said “mommy CaRr, Ca-Rrh”
thanks for the well deserved correction. I am constenlty Saying out words and correcting him so guess it was pay back
The last thing that made me laugh…and I mean, bust out laughing was this week when my 5 year old tooted in the middle of his piano lesson. The expression on his face was priceless! 😉 And well, of course, we had a little bit more of a serious “talk” after his lesson about how mommy shouldn’t have laughed at that and it’s best to do that sort of thing in the bathroom. 😉
I always love stopping by your blog…your thoughts that you share are so heartwarming and your photography just speaks to my soul.
Happy Friday!
~jennifer
I laughed at my students today. Two 7th grade boys went into the bathroom during our break, and they came out with post-it mustaches. I stifled a smile, made it back to the classroom, and told the rest of the class: “Look! D and M went on our break as boys, and they’ve returned as men. Amazing!” They proceeded to talk in deep, deep voices for the rest of class.
My students make me belly-laugh.
my son gasping, and say “Oh my” and covering his mouth over something on Mickey Mouse clubhouse! The face he makes is priceless!
OK, it appears I accidentally/unintentionally sealed my official fan badge of honor by being the first commentor above! A rite of passage for one of your loyal readers!
What an awesome way to start the weekend….think I will top it off with some hot chocolate, popcorn, and a movie with the kids now!

This morning by son, Wesley, 6 years old said to me when I went to wake him up, “Do we have school AGAIN today?”

I loooooovvvvveee the picture of Nella on the front porch. So adorable. She’s such a little lady now!!
The last thing that made me laugh was my 2 1/2 year old at the dinner table tonight…eating spaghetti and saying “adel” over and over again and laughing hysterically like it was the funniest thing she had ever heard. She was laughing so hard, there were tears flowing down her face. Watching her laugh so heartily made us both laugh, even though we didn’t get the joke 🙂
Um, yay for birthday parties and mamas spending time!!!
What are the chances you’ll post that stellar playlist?
Love it. Last thing that made me laugh was an interpretive dance on youtube.
I was thinking a cute blog would be one from Lainey’s perspective. Letting her take pictures for a day and then capture everything she wants to ‘write”. adorable. try it!
The last thing that made me laugh happened at the library. My little guy bent over to pick up a book and ummmm tooted. He then spun around and blamed our dog (who obviously wasn’t present at the library).
The last thing that made me really laugh was my nephew telling my daughter I’ll pray for you when she got a time out and had to sit on the stairs. To them sitting still for 5 minutes is the end of the world.
I was laughing so hard I had tears pouring down my face and I somehow forgot the time out during all of the laughing 🙂
My big kids (6&3) just walked by the office pushing their little brother (15 months) in a Tonka Truck. That definitely got a giggle!
Okay the last thing to make me laugh was what you just posted about Brett and the bunnies, but in real life, this was the question I got from my three year old recently: “Hmmm…so what do we get from boy cows?” Me (after a long pause and shushing my husband from saying “meat”): “Well, boy cows get to be daddies.” Yikes, wasn’t ready for that kind of question!
Making me happy: Almost the weekend!!
We’re watching Glee currently, so that made me laugh last. Finn was checking out Rachel’s bum.
I need to throw more parties like yours!
i look forward to reading your blog! Keep it up!!
this two year old of mine is constantly making me laugh!
ps…just plugged in my fall scentsy warmer and have dreams of having one for every season!
Oh my..I think Heidi may be the most adorable pregnant woman I have ever seen!
Speaking of adorable..Nella and the braids..wicked adorable!
The last thing that made me laugh was Gracee singing the song she will be playing at her piano recital,”Good King Wenceslas”, to her nana in the. highest. pitch. that I think a human can ever hit.
Went out for dinner with co-workers. Laughing at funny moments in the past. Always a good time!!!
I took my tiny girl into the shoe store today in search of shoes. No one offered to help us or even say hello. When we didn’t find what we need we walked toward the door and the kid working says in a pathetic tone “hope you found what you needed.” My girl, 10 months old, looked over my shoulder and yelled “NO!” to him. Very appropriate. I kept walking and high-fived her in the parking lot in a hysterical laugh. Girlfriend knows the deal.
Last thing that made me laugh? My son was in the shower singing Old McDonald had a farm but in “my angry mad voice Mommy”. He was barking each word out “A! COW COW HERE! COW COW EVERYWHERE!” 🙂
I just got done cleaning up feathers EVERYWHERE in my laundry room! It’s a very bad idea to try and wash your down comforter!!! Should’ve listened to the directions and dry cleaned 😉 Looks like I’m off to buy a new one on my Friday night.
P.S. I adore your blog and what a lucky friend to have you throw a surprise party for her.
My daughter is 3 and frequently calls our family back home. Tonight she called my sister, her aunt. The phone conversations never top 2 minutes, and when she’s done she’s done. This time when she finished talking she hands me the phone and says “ok I’m done wif her.” Haha
The last thing that made me laugh was my 3yr old daughter during dinner tonight. She let one rip and innocently looks to her right and says “daaddyyy” and rolls her eyes.
What a girl <3
I laughed a lot earlier while Levi squealed and babbled LOUDLY all through the grocery store. People were turning the corner to see who was making all that noise.
wow, nella looks so big and gorwn up in that photo on the front step!! she rocks those braids well 🙂
last thing that made me laugh, my nephew did his fake sleep sound when i kissed him goodnight for his nap.
have a fantastic weekend as well!
And I laughed at Lainey’s funny face in your photo dump! Too funny!
Oh, I am a new addict to Scentsy. Yum. 🙂
The last thing that made me laugh is my sweet 18 month old who violently flails her arms when she gets excited about some sort of food. She does it most often in her high chair at dinnertime and it CRACKS ME UP. Actually, it kinda reminds me of how excited the hubs gets over food, too. 😉
a)this makes me want to throw a surprise party
b)where oh where did you get Nella’s red shoes?????
c) have you smelled the pumpkin marshamllow?? to die for
Last thing that made me laugh was the video on FB of Nella rocking it out on the keyboard!!
Also PLEASE share your pumpkin bread recipie :o) Looks De-Lish!!
My sweet almost-6-month old baby girl giggles when my husband makes a silly platypus face / duck noise. Hearing her chuckle makes me crack up. Never fails.
Oh fall… please make your way to HOT az. My hubby just made me laugh… but he’s lucky. I’m on loads of fertility meds and sometimes he gets the wrong reaction. What can ya do. Gotta love him though.
I couldnt stifle a giggle when my sweet Ella told me all of her plans for the evening, “get bottle, watch cailou, take nap. Mama take nap. Daddy take nap. In momndaddy bed.” ahh, the mysteries of two year old minds..
What last made me laugh? My Mom came over last night to visit with our kids and she always brings over special little “gifts” (or cluttered pieces of junk…but I digress). Well, my Mom gave my daughter her old pink alarm clock. Ellie Kate comes racing over to me shouting, “Mommy, Granny gave me a WAKING UP MACHINE!!!”
Love that girl more than life, keeps me giggling all the day through.
I love Fall and all the things it brings the glowy votives and pumpkin spice scents, the leaves and enjoying the crisp weather with my little.
Btw, Nella’s “O” is so adorable!
Happy Weekend!
I LOVE YOUR OWL DISH TOWELS!
the last time I laughed was about a minute ago when I read about your conversation with Brett!
Tickling one of my little one’s feet made me smile and laugh today.
Party looks fun! Would love to hear Nella say her words because I cannot believe she is learning them already, not already!!! Wow!
Love Nella with the phone and the story behind it.
You go soccer Mom! We do ballet and soccer too. Hope so much when the time comes for you that you’ll choose homeschooling too! No doubt you’ll rock at it, I just know you will. Love you!
(P.S. – always love those Brett stories too…they crack me up!)
I just cracked up at the kids and their friends (all 6-9) in the back of my van having a convo about books, The Bible, where Jesus most likes to be (your heart…and church second)
Nella in braids=adorable! I laughed at my little man because he threw his spoon down and used his hand to get the last of his yogurt out of the cup. He sucked it off of his hand and had a HUGE grin on his face! That is one way to eat every last drop! Happy Weekend!
Karen H.
Tonight when I asked my daughter about her lunch that her pseudo grandmother made her, she said, “the sandwich was peanut butter on raisin bread” and I said, “did it have jelly on it.” and she calmly and slyly said, “why do you ask that?” It might not sound that funny in writing but it cracked my husband and me up in person;)
gah, i love scentsy! the last thing to make me laugh…. this morning as i was brushing the two year old i nanny for’s hair (hi bug!) she started “crying”. “ow. owwww. oweeeee. ow.” i said, ‘bug are you faking it?’ and she just grinned in the mirror. little kids are awesome.
HA! Ok, so the last thing that made me laugh, is the last thing that made you laugh. M-A-T-I-N-G. hahaha 🙂
Last thing to make me laugh: walking in the house from dinner my husband said: “i like the way your butt looks in those leggings. You should wear them all the time.” Makes me feel good…just had a baby 3 weeks ago!
stella thinks that things are M-A-K-I-N-G … which makes soMUCHmore sense, don’t you think?
funniest thing today? my dad told cora that he was meeting lulu (my sister) at the car repair shop.
she quickly responded with … “you don’t need to MEET lulu … you’ve known her since she was born!”
so he corrected himself … i’m CONNECTING with lulu at the car repair shop. ahem.
(i told him he’d made a mistake with that one)
to which she responded with a thoroughly confused look about her, “like a MAGNET?”
the last thing that made me laugh was my three-year-old daughter reciting the story about the woman who swallowed a fly…..and in her version, the woman ended up swallowing a mom! then my daughter says, “no, that’s not right!” happy friday!!
For me, it’s the picture of Lainey in the phone dump- second row, all the way to the right. What a face!
so my daughter (2.5 years old) is into singing lately. her latest song tonight was: oh icky butt, paint it green! over and over. that’s what made me laugh latest.
That would be my 3 year old asking me how Oso became a special agent.
Your house looks beautiful, Kelle.
And a belated Happy Birthday to Heidi! She looks beautiful too!!!
Last thing that made me laugh…my 3 year old nephew telling me that he was too busy to talk to me on the phone because he was writing out bills!! Nearly peed in my pants…my cousin gives him junk mail & a pencil & tells him to go pay the bills. Too funny!!
Happy weekend!
Maria
The picture of Nella sitting on the step is absolutely beautiful! She is a doll!
Never got to post earlier, but I LOVED your Hallmark horseracing analogy/post. Had me reflecting, chuckling, and loving motherhood just a bit more this week. Thank you! Walking into my 7yo daughter’s room to find her dressing up her 2yo brother in her mismatched pink furry socks and a princess fleece hoodie! And he did a dance for me in the socks!!
Last thing that made me laugh was my friend’s son breaking out in prayer in the middle of a playdate. It was so unexpected I couldn’t stop laughing- so cute.
What a great friend you are!
and I remember how excited I was when my girlie could finally rock a braid too! Cheers to a great weekend.
Cathy
My two-year-old daughter trying to help mommy by carrying an entire laundry basket of clothes. She was staggering around and it was so cute!
Great party, you’re a great friend. You’re so kind to open up your house (especially into the wee hours of the morning).
What makes me laugh, mmmm, watching my kids dance. My daughter has the rhythm of Elaine (from Seinfeld). Poor girl.
I just became a soccer mom as well. Nothing cuter than a bunch of little girls decked out in soccer gear full-out chasing that ball.
Nella has so much hair!!
Surprise birthday parties are the absolute best! The surprise makes them so much more magical. Strawberry cakes don’t hurt either!
i just arrived home for the weekend – and my mom has made me laugh nonstop with her sweet antics!
the braids are adorable!
last big laugh was at the state fair last week, my niece was up on my shoulders and yelled to everyone “look at me! i’m very important!”
love girlfriends! Me and mine have vowed to celebrate our 25th birthdays together this year at Epcot 🙂
and Nella scrolling on the phone was the last thing to make me laugh– too cute!
Well I can’t top your hubby’s but my 4 month old’s uncontrollable giggles tonight in the tub (after the dogs got crazy & scared him half to death) had me cracking up…nothing better than a baby belly laugh!!!
I love that Lainey wants to wear her cleats with dresses! That’s great!
The last thing that made me laugh was….a sassy comment made by the nine year old I nanny. It always amazes me how much personality can fit into such tiny kids.
Oh, and I love Nella’s braids! 🙂
The last thing that made me laugh was my 9 month old daughter fighting bedtime in her crib. She was sitting up and kept bobbing her head as she tried not to fall asleep! Despite her best efforts, she folded in half and conked out. It was everything I could do to keep from laughing out loud and waking her up! Thanks for your awesome party inspiration! Girls nights are always a necessity. 🙂
My last giggle was from my six-almost-seven year old, asking me, as she’s over my shoulder looking at your blog, “OOOOooooo, Mommy, who’s that little girl? I like her braids, how does her mommy braid that tiny” 🙂
Love the bunny thing!!!
last thing that made me laugh was earlier this evening when my little girl was playing with her gpa and she asked “mommy how come you grew up when your daddy was this cool” Ahh I love that 5 year old 🙂
love the hunched over, phone stealing oh face!! So sweet!!!
The last thing that made me laugh? My 2 year old just woke up from a bad dreams. Real, huge tears from real fright. Turns out she had a bad dream about the Halloween Store we went to today. Daddy tried on a Barack Obama mask and that scared her so bad she had a nightmare about it. After calming her down, her comment was “Daddy had a scary face on and made me cry.” Something tells me she’s going to grow up a Republican like her Grandma.
Now I can’t get her back to bed.
Hah – My Ben does that same O face when he’s looking at something. Too funny. Happy Weekend!
Tonight my husband, while rubbing my pregnant belly, told our soon to be son that he was aggrivated with him. When I asked why he said it was because he clearly is already favoring me by letting me be the only one who can feel him kick!!
Your blog rocks!! My favorite read anytime of the day 🙂
So, Bretts comment was the last thing that made me laugh. That’s great!
But before that… we were driving and had to make a stop at SuperOne to get a birthday cupcake for someone we were meeting…..my husband just had minor surgery and was going to wait in the car while I ran in. Grace wanted to join me because well….it’s a cupcake thing. Anyway, daddy asked Grace to stay in the car so he could have company and she said that he’d be just fine with out her and wouldn’t be lonely because all her imaginary friends would stay in the car to keep him company. My heart smiled and laughed. I hope she never looses that beautiful imagination.
I love your leaf place mats. Are those from Bed Bath and Beyond? I got an ad in the mail but we have zero stores near by. I was drooling over those in their ad.
Love the braids! Your fall decor-rocks! Happy weekend!
aww your girls 🙂 My 4th graders were the last to make me laugh…the fact that they mimicked me as they played “school” at the white board is adorable…they didn’t know that I knew 🙂
Our daughter has discovered the thrill of running up and down the hallway squealing for absolutely no reason – we laughed. We laughed harder when she sat down, panted a little and said, “I OK”
Last thing to make me laugh: my five-month-old is at the stage (not quite sure if it’s a stage, or just him) where he just laughs uncontrollably about everything. He laughed out loud the whole time his big brother and I were reading a Magic Treehouse book. Too cute 🙂
Also – funny story about Brett & the bunnies! Love Nella’s braids and Lainey’s new kicks! Soccer is so fun!
Love your photos! Can’t wait to check out the new Facebook page! I can’t wait to try out one of the Scentsy warmers you keep talking about!
The last thing to make me really laugh watching Bridesmaids. Could not stop giggling!
Love you and your blog, so fantastic!
Happy birthday to Heidi! That was so nice of you to throw a birthday party for her.
The last thing that made me laugh was my husband; I’ve been trying to tell him for at least a year that he needs to get his hearing checked. Naturally, he thinks everything is just fine. This was our conversation the other night.
Me: “Awww! Did Tony (our 8-month old son) just make a big boy burp?”
Husband: “What’s a dick whipper”
I’m not quite sure how he got “dick whipper” out of “big boy burp,” but I think I laughed for 20 minutes straight.
My toddler gives his newborn brother the sweetest hugs and ‘kisses’ (where he just smooshes his face into his brother’s head). Giggles erupt every time! 🙂
Beautiful post! That cake looked yummy!
Brooke

I ended up laughing hysterically at “Bridesmaids” tonight. I didn’t think I would like it, but i couldn’t stop laughing!
My 4 year old is running a slight fever, and as soon as he took some ibuprofen he sighed, “Ah, I’ll survive now!” Oh, the drama.
…that it’s September 23rd and the snow has arrived in town! (keeps me smiling… I LOVE snow!!) But seeing friends and families reactions on FaceBook make me crack up and LAUGH!
My 3yo told me he was going to scream if I didn’t let him watch something on tv. I laughed. He screamed.
The last thing that made me laugh was watching my soon to be one year old dancing goofy to some radio music. It doesn’t matter what type of music it is either. He hears a song playing and there he is bouncing and jamming, bending his knees.
What a sweet, sweet thing to throw a surprise birthday party! Those things mean so much, esp. as we get older and parties/real celebrating are slim to none. Happy weekend to you!
The last thing that made me laugh? My son was sitting on my bed looking at his feet and made a comment about needing foot cream because they were peeling a bit. I told him I could probably find him some cream and he asked me if I used foot cream while peering over to my feet (which are in dire need of a pedi) and said “I guess not”.
I just about pee’d my pants! Kids…they’re so honest!
O.K. I’m a little pressed to think of what made me laugh recently because my 2 year old is screaming her hit off because she doesn’t want to go to bed! Although earlier, I found it quite humorous when she said to my husband. “No Daddy, you go, I want Mommy.” She said it with such attitude that it just cracked me up. Now if the silly goose would just lie down in her bed and go to sleep… *sigh*
What a great friend you are! I have always wanted a surprise party thrown for me (selfish I know). Alas, I am still waiting.
Love that photo of Nella with your phone =)
Nella’s shoes are perfection! Love, love, love!!!
I laughed for a good ten minutes today when my husband said to our nine month old daughter – “say daddy” and she replied with a big slobbery rasberry! SO funny! Hope y’all have a fabulous weekend!
Like *really* laughed?
When my 4-year-old grabbed my extra belly skin (courtey of her!), smushed it together and said “I’m your belly and I’m gonna eat youuuu!” hahaha. She’s such a weirdo… : )
Last thing: My little guy getting bath toy raspberries on his belly. He lets out this infectious belly laugh as the bath toy blows on his wet belly.
Hmmm, what made me laugh today…. Oohh I know! How about a 7-month-old who at lunch, took in a giant mouthful of sweet potato, smiled sweetly, and then blew a raspberry, spewing food all over my face and shirt. Awesome. 🙂
Yea! Surprise parties are so much fun!!! She looks shocked! And I went over to follow you on FB! Super excited!
Perfect post. Love the friendship moments. Hmmm Sheldon on the ‘Big bang theory’ creates huge belly laughs for me. I laugh every time I watch that show.
Last thing that made me laugh was Kylie (my 7 month old) petting our dog and laughing hysterically like he was the funniest thing she had ever seen! 🙂
Welcome to the world of little tyke soccer. Just thinking of my daughters game tom. morning makes me laugh. Little children herding around a little ball, priceless!!!
To be real, your husband was the last thing that made me laugh. I even paused the Netflix movie my roommate/sister was watching in order to tell her what he said. M-A-T-I-N-G.
This comment has been removed by the author.
My son made me laugh, he was starting to fall asleep in car and I wanted to feed him first, so I was racing home and I looked back at him and he said, “Don’t worry mommy I not sleeping just resting, I tired” he’s 3 so the fact that he knew that I was going to start acting silly to keep him awake and him stopping me by saying he wasn’t falling asleep was hilarious to me. Of course by the time we got home he was almost asleep but I managed to feed him first.
My husband is going to school for Physical Therapy. This evening he came home from the cadaver lab and as he was about to kiss me I told him I wouldn’t “Kick” him until he took a shower! We both got a pretty good laugh out of that one!
The last time I laughed was tonight at my boyfriends “gun-daddy” (grandpa) who was telling us jokes on a carride home. He got really into his characters in his jokes.. speaking like a little old lady. It was awesome and funny! Love your blog.
Now that’s how you celebrate a friend!! Love it:) and yes I believe the kids come out of the womb knowing how to work I phones:)
Happy first weekend of Fall…hope its Grand!
My 10 month old giggling because he burped and farted at the same time. Gotta love boys!
I just watched Date Night with my mom and sister. We laughed until we snorted 🙂 Good times!
The last thing that made me laugh was about 5 minutes ago….the new “What Happens in Vegas” commericial where the guy is at work checking out his pictures from his Vegas trip in his work cubicle and his boss comes up behind him…classic:) And definitely had me busting out in hysterics. Greatness!
Have a great weekend Kelle! You’re such an inspiration!
You’re such a great friend! Looks like a beautiful party. I agree that it’s hard to coordinate those girls’ nights but so worth it. My daughter (who LOVES seeing new pictures of Nella) loves the new phone addiction!
The last thing that made me laugh was when my son ran for the first time! (he is 15 months old) you know what did the trick?! “dinner time!!!” hahaha what a silly little boy.
We get to the park where we are meeting my husband after work and are sitting in the car. My 2 year old yells “mommy i want to get out” and because I needed to send a quick text I reply “we have to wait til daddy gets here” to which he replies “that’s ridiculous” HAHA. touche, son.
Happy Friday to you!!
What kind of dog is that little light brown dog? I think his name is Latte… My kids want a little dog so bad and I think that kind looks perfect. Thanks and I love your pics and blog!
OK- That was pretty darn funny. My husband spells things out all the time. He fails to remember we now have a 6th grader and a 4th grader who are both excellent spellers…so he only excludes the 4 and 5 year old!! I remind him frequently…”who do you think you are fooling with that spelling!”:) What made me laugh last…my 4 year tattling on the family dog…she was totally perturbed that the dog didn’t say “sorry” after hurting my 5 year old. I reminded her dogs can’t talk. Her delightfully funny reply…”well she could have at least thought it in her head!” Hysterical!
my husband and i were enjoying a few kid free moments after getting both our little ones to bed and i was entertaining my husband with funny things the kids did today… silly things that no one but he would laugh about – which makes it beyond funnier. it amazes me what my 2 year old comes up with and makes me wonder what he will teach his 8 month old sister! tgif
My 3 year old makes me laugh the most. And my brain is too fried right now after a long day to think of some of the things he does to make me laugh 🙂
The last thing that made me laugh – My 12 month old son’s newest way to make us smile. He uses his little fingers to pick up the tiniest non-existent thing he can find on the floor, turns around with a huge smile on his face, and wants to give the tiny non-existent thing to me…over, and over, and over again. He always knows how to make me laugh.
I love this so much, good friendships are so important. Your pictures, as always, are amazing!
Just “liked” you. Listened to the song too. Love it. Love her. She’s so cute, and I love her music.
Watching my little Evie, she is 1 year old, squeal with delight as we walked down the toy aisle at Costco. Can’t you remember that excitement?
bwahah! m-a-t-i-n-g! the bunny sex convention. funny stuff. 🙂 before that— hmmm– my 3 year old that told the mustard bottle to excuse himself after “tooting”. 🙂
during our family video night, our son cracked up at the french peas (a veggie tale movie), and at his free, uninhibited laughter, my hubby and i locked eyes and joined in. i love kid laughter–it’s contagious!
happy fall!!
loved the video of nella dancing on the facebook page!
i belly laughed in the Target parking lot when my 5 year old truman started singing leslie hall’s “tight pants” out of nowhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1c2KzJbcGA
The last thing that made me laugh was my husband doing something goofy. I don’t remember what it was – I just remember it felt awesome to get a real laugh out :).
my one year old loves to be scared with the word BOO. he belly laughs so hard, it gts the whole house laughing
Watching Alex take her stuffed horse in with her into the bathroom for a middle of the night pee run and hearing her make pretend farting noise while Nay-Nay was pretending to pee. Really sister? It’s the middle of the night. It made all of us crack up laughing.
Happy Weekend. Loving the arrival of fall!
-Jennifer
Today while stealing a day date with my hubby and 2 year old while the big boys were in school . Anyways we went golfing and after my hubby took a practice swing my little boy said very loudly , you missed dad. It was awesome
my 2 year old little guy was trying to come outside in the rain while I was talking to a friend in the doorway… I said that he couldn’t come out as he didn’t have shoes on. He toodles off and comes back stepping outside wearing my incredibly floral shoes saying, “yah shoes”. I died. 😀
Last thing that made me laugh: my 3 year old talking like a pirate during bath time tonight. Then my 15 month old repeating “Arrrgghh!”
P.S. LOVE fall time!
I am giggling at the fact that your hubby just spelled the word mating. BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA!
The last thing that made me laugh was my 3-year-old getting out of the bath and declaring “I’m so refreshed!” (I promise it was cute – you had to be there!! LOL!!)
My 3 yr old just told me “you are the best mommy I’ve ever had.” I so appreciate all acts of love from my kids but also know I have no competition in the other mommy department!
A few hours ago when I hugged my boy and he told me “Momma!! You squeezin’ all da lubbins outta me!”
Nella’s face playing with that phone! My son does the same thing. Like he’s got something important to do….
Picture my sons and I. Me running. They are biking. Together. Late at night. In the dark.
One starts to get further ahead of me. I tell him to get back closer to me.
He says, “Sheesh mom. I’m 17. Old enough to go a little further by myself.”
I say, “It’s not you I am worried about. It’s me. I need you near me to be my body guard.” {We live in a major city. Remember it’s dark.}
He says, “Oh right. Me. YOUR body guard. {Rolls his eyes}.
We laughed so hard together. Guess you had to have been there. And probably know my son. He’s very tall and thin….and detest sports of any kind….he’s a computer geek and hasn’t a noticeable muscle anywhere. ; D
Watching my twin girls dance to music and jump on the bed before they went to sleep thats the last thing that made me laugh today and made my heart feel oh so blessed.
My Mom and I were just watching “Modern Family” from this week when they were at the Dude Ranch. That weird boyfriend kid sang, “I rode a horse for the first time todaaaay. Wasn’t surprised when it said Neigggghhhh.” That made me laugh so hard!
Not sure it was the last thin to make me laugh- but my Son was calling for “Nana Papa” while he was suppose to be napping. They were not in the house, not near the house- just his last ditch effort to get Out of his nap
I fully expect pictures of m-a-t-i-n-g bunnies in the next post!
Last thing I laughed at: My son (4.5) and his friend Buddy (5) sat completely backwards in their chairs in the Mexican restaurant we ate at tonight very obviously gawking at a table full of beautiful college girls. Then on the way home, my other son (2) reported, “Girls are pretty, Mommy.”
Lord help me.
My precious 80-year-old grandparents cracking up at me using the word hip. Then I start giggling uncontrollably as they both inquire, “do you use it like this?” “Yeah girl, you so hip”-Grandma, “You my hipsta granddaugher yo”-Papa They are just too cute! Grandparents are such a blessing. Have a beautiful night, Kelle. I love reading about your not-so-ordinary, ordinary life!
My husband walked out of my hospital room tonight to grab a drink while my 3 year old and I were playing. She started after him in her Tangled outfit yelling ‘stinky daddy where did you go stinky daddy’ all the way down the hallway. Many laughs from the waiting room!
Just finished watching the movie Bridesmaids. Freakin’ hilarious!!
Tonight watching my Ava sing and dance to “Out of the Blue” by Debbie Gibson!! Gotta love a little 80’s music!!
Tina
I enjoyed a night out with friends and like always, lots of laughs were involved! Love them!
Am I the only person who was disappointed that you didn’t post a pic of the bunnies m-a-t-i-n-g?
Kellee – love your blog! Can’t wait for your book to come out next year (I have already added it to my book club reading list).
Had icecream with my husband’s family (including his 3 year old, second cousin) at a local ice cream shop. I asked his cousin what flavor he was eating. His reply was “white”. Couldn’t help but laugh! 🙂
I’ve got a wee babe growing in my belly, and those little kicks tickle me!! I love them!
The last thing that made me laugh was my 17 month old daughter pulling her new clothes from Grandma out of the bag. Once they were all out she looked at me and said “Mo Mama”. I have a shopping addict in the making.
Love your blog:o)
The last thing that made me laugh…my almost 3 year old son is obsessed with a certain yellow nike basketball shirt that my husband bought him…along with green shorts. He wants to wear them everyday…so I have to wash them…EVERY night! But, they were in the dirty basket and he rooted around to find them, changed himself then proceed to high tail it through the kitchen as if I didn’t see them on him!!! He ran like he just robbed a bank!!! I couldn’t help but laugh! Kids are so funny and I so enjoy laughing at all the crazy things they do!
My 2.5 year old son getting into a perfect downward dog position while at church rehearsal for my brother’s wedding. He is the ring bearer, God help us!!!
I’m sicker than a dog with morning sickness right now and I found myself counting the number of jets of water that shoot around my toilet bowl after I flush….and there has been many flushing….
I’ve always wanted to throw a surprise party!
in the past hour…2 things have made me/us laugh really hard.
1) going to change our 6wk old son’s diaper & explosive poop flies straight out of his bottom and gets momma, dad, his changing table…he puts his hand in it. lovely. we just laughed and laughed. what else can you do?
2) husband and i were chatting and something he said reminded me of a segment on Ellen earlier this week called “clumsy thumsy” in which she shows texts that have auto-corrected themselves into not so great things. i.e. a mom and son are texting. mom texts son “your great aunt died earlier today. LOL”. son texts: “what’s funny about that?” mom texts:”nothings funny…she really died.” son texts: ‘mom, LOL means laugh out loud” mom texts: “OH NO! I thought it meant lots of love…I have to go call all the family now…I texted them all that message”.
🙂
Where are the pics of the m-a-t-i-n-g bunnies?? lol
Love you guys!!
We used to write new words uttered on the calendar when I was a nanny for my first munchkin. So fun to go back and see when they came about and when word explosions happened <3
My 3 year old, Caitlin, snuck out of bed, came downstairs and said her “thumb hurt and there’s a witch in her closet.” Wasn’t so much the statement but her gorgeous, big blue eyes, and long dark lashes blinking slowly and her mouth trying not to smile because she knew she should be in bed and not feeding us lines like this. I just had to laugh…
And i love that Nella uses your phone. My hubby and I were just talking the other day about how our children are so different than we were. It cracks me up when my girls here a song they like on the radio and ask if we can “buy it on iTunes?” They will never know things like ,” Be Kind Please Rewind,” buying cassettes or CDs, or know what a tube TV is.
Have a great weekend Kelle and fam!
My 2 year old trying to put her socks on the sleeping dog’s paws.
you are so lucky to have such close women friendships! I think the last thing to make me laugh tonight was my 15 month old eating his dinner – when I tell him “remember to drink your milk” instead of finishing what he is chewing he takes it out, drinks some milk, and back in goe sthe half-masticated piece of food…
The last thing I laughed at was my husbands FRANTIC search for the dunking donuts coupons he swiped from his mom last week. He went crazy for almost 15 minutes searching and tearing up the house for a 2 dollar off coupon for a cup of coffee. Finally he yells” i cant believe I lost it- it was right there on the fridge yesterday…”
yup it was still on the fridge. Coffees on us.
those cleats are waaayyy too cute! 🙂 last thing that made me laugh? i just saw “horrible bosses”, and yes, i thought it was funny. 🙂
Okay, so word to the wise don’t have wine and comment…typos galore! And it’s “HEAR” not here…. Cheers!
Nella and Lainey rock some awesome braids!
It’s great that Nella said new words! …and I LOVE the look on her face whilst scrolling! She’s too cute!
I hope Lainey loves soccer! All three of my D’s {9,7, & 3} play and they love it!
Thank you for letting us peak into your fabulous life! xoxo
My 6 year old daughter lef the dinner table tonight proclaiming that she wouldn’t be clearing the table…in closing she through out a peace. As in well thats it see ya…..she still cleared the table but I laughed real hard in the process.
Love this post..
The last thing that made me laugh was my son. While I was putting on his jammies tonight he passed gas, laughed, and clapped like he did a good job. He kept saying “too too” (for toot). Haha! I never thought that would make me laugh, but for a kid who used to scream from gas pains when he was an infant, I’ll take a happy tooter any day 😉
I laughed (at least inside) at the last text message picture I got. I’m at work and I get a picture of a campfire with most of my family around it, courtesy of my bro-in-law!
I just became the 1,555 person to “like” your FB page…and 5 is kind of my number…no big deal! So fun, the party for your friend!!
Big laughs tonight? Gathering with 2 friends at a university reunion remembering our college crushes and piecing together where they are now – some info real, some imagined. So serious at the time but a few decades out it is giggle-worthy!
Thanks for the song. That’s great. Just posted it to my husbands page. Also, have you read One Thousand Gifts yet? By Ann VosKamp?
The last thing that made me laugh was reading Brett spell M-A-T-I-N-G. Too funny.
Before that- my 2 year old eating a cracker with too much peanut butter. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. She couldn’t really chew. Think molasses?
LOVE your facebook page, I am so happy, you have no idea! Thank you for doing that!!
BAH HA HA he spelled mating. And called it a convention. I love it!!
Well, I just went out to sushi with friends for a birthday celebration, and the whole night was characteried by laughter. 🙂
Just cracked up at a “Whose Line” episode as I was reading your post! Love your blog!
Last thing that made me laugh::: I was putting my son to bed tonight who is 4 1/2. We had told a story, said our prayers and he was laying there trying to doze off.. he says to me “Momma is your tummy heaven?” I said “NO son, what makes you ask that?” He said “Well, you said I came from Heaven but you told me I was in your tummy and they cut me out”. I went on to explain about heaven and thank you Lord they did REALLY cut him from my tummy so I don’t have to explain the other 🙂
I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!
I would love to know if you do any special therapy with Nella to get her to say so many words! My almond eyed beauty is 4 months behind Nella and she is stuck at Da-Da! HELP!!!! 🙂
The Brett comment is hilarious!
Tonight at the grocery store I was waiting in line with my 5 year old son. The line was moving kind of slowly and I was getting kind of impatient. My son tapped me on the waist and said “mommy you have to wait…be patient.” It was funny because normally I am the one reminding him to wait patiently, but this time it was me who needed a little reminder. Enjoy your weekend!
Today at the playground Ada’s friend wanted to sit behind her on the teeter-toter. I saw a little arm reach around Ada’s neck, which apparently looks like a good handle to a pair of two year olds. Ada’s eyes got huge and I know what was coming next: both girls ended up toppling over backwards into the sand. Nobody was hurt and we were all laughing.
I lOVE watching my 11 month old dude watch Elmo’s Ducks on YouTube… the way his face lights up and grins his gappy tooth smile! His laughter is infectious! xx
Tonight we went to the drive in burger place and my 4 year old started rapping Eminem’s part in the song “Lighters” into his french fry. It was awesome. And hilarious.
Three year old giggles while being tossed onto my bed made me laugh out loud today 🙂
Yesterday I was fumbling around the kitchen with something, and my 2 1/2 year old looked at me so seriously, shaking her head, and said with great empathy “oh, poor mommy.” Cracked me up!!! Spoken from the mouth of babes !!!
Two words: the Slingshot. Scariest ride at the Puyallup fair. Made me both laugh to myself to tears and scream my voice hoarse. Best date night ever with a daredevil, charming husband.
The last thing I laughed about…Was Your post about Nella!! My little Emery who is 2 is the same way with phones…She is madly in love with the scrolling but O boy..she is a mess if we take it from her! It just made me laugh!
While laying in bed, my son is watching “Herbie Fully Loaded” (2 years old with speech delay)… when the car hits her in the butt he scrambles to sit up and go “OH NO!” with his hands to his face. So hilarious!
LOVE all the Fall decor!!! and of course the braids melt me!!!
funniest thing…absolutely, positively would be my 3 year old son who says the most hilarious stuff! tonight when my hubby got home from work he asked him “were you a good boy today” and my son answered “no, me not a good boy, but me got time out already so you don’t have to worry about that” LOL!!! how do you NOT laugh out that in front of them??!!
The last thing to make me laugh actually came right before you asked this question! When you said, “It smells like old books and rich leather” it reminded me of the classic Anchorman quote, “I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.”
Love it!
love the cleats! I love long nights with friends too – great therapy :
taking my god-daughter to a baseball game and her ever slightly stealing another kids cotton candy.. Just. hilarious.
Last thing that made me laugh? My 2-year-old singing ABC’s along with her little leap frog toy. This little doggy sings and dances on the screen. We were in the car and she pushed that button 3 or 4 times – singing from “A” all the way to “next time won’t you sing with me.” After the 4th time, she sighs and says, “I AM singing with you puppy!”
The last thing that made me laugh was watching my little dog chase seagulls at the beach a couple of hours ago!
Thanks for another beautiful post!
The last thing that made me laugh is that new show ‘Up All Night’. Have you seen it? Hilarious!
Your house looks so cozy, can I come live with you? haha. The last thing that made me really laugh was watching the opening sequence of the new Office episode earlier 🙂
Last thing that made me laugh was my dad and husband talking about premarital sex. I wasnt sure if I wanted to laugh, cry or crawl under the table!!! HAHAHA
Thank you for having us post our funny stories, it has been a very stressful week and the comments from your readers and your story provided some much needed laughs tonight.
I laughed hard earlier today at a text from my sister-in-law describing her challenges with her new baby boy…one of them was “mastering the pee arch.”
I love your blog, Kelle. You are a truly gifted writer and your girls always make me smile 🙂

The last thing that made me laugh was my husband, flirting with me while we brushed our teeth to get ready for bed. (Love my hubby for still flirting with his stay-at-home-new-mom-who-sometimes-feels-frumpy-and-messy wife.) Have a great weekend!
Love Nella’s new braids! Laughed at my little girl (3 yrs.) tonight at a HS football game, she’s obsessed with cheerleaders and we were in the bathroom and two cheerleaders came in. My daughter said “Oh my gracious Mom, cheerleaders are in the bathroom with us! This is so exciting!” Lol, who knew cheerleaders had to use the bathroom too;)
Made me laugh…? Brett spelling ha ha ha other than that probably something one of my kids said 🙂
hmmmm….last thing to make me laugh….my son of course! he makes me laugh about every 20 seconds or so, this soon to be 2yr old is a total goofball!
My niece told me earlier that I had to send my husband to his room when we got home, because he wasn’t wearing his seat belt in the car 🙂
The last thing that made me laugh was my little boy driving past 7-Eleven and crying all the way home for a “Burpee”. MMOOOMMMAAA puh-leeasee wanna BURPEE! hahah
Oh little league soccer. My three year old just started playing and his first game was HILARIOUS. Every time the ball moves, a bunch of toddlers trip over it and fall on top of eachother. Cutest thing ever. Good luck!!
My daughter cracked me up this morning when she was bossing around her doll – she tossed it on the ground, covered it with one of my handkercheifs, and shook her finger at it while saying “You lie there, OK? You lie right there!”
The last thing that made me laugh was Brett’s comments on the bunnies! LOL too funny! But seriously, I can’t believe how grown up Lainey keeps looking! She is just beautiful!
Aaaahh! Nella in the braids is just amazing!
How wonderfully lovely and cosy this post is! Conditioner for the soul 🙂
Well, I have a mysterious combo of the flu and stomach flu, which I got in the middle of a huge ongoing book fair with thousands of people…..
In another city, far from home.
So laugh?
😉
Actually I did, anyway!
I saw my grown up son and since he’s great fun – like Will Smith-kind of fun – he made me laugh out loud several times during those few hours we got together before I had to get me home, to a sick-bed.
That was still a perfect trip, just thanks to him and those laughs, that for sure started in my heart.
Sorry to take up all the space babbling away, but you got me inspired!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Tonight, my little family went out to dinner for the first time in months. I guess my dad was out of practice. He pulled a Brett and was spelling about the people at the table next to us. I hope to God the guy wearing too much a-f-t-e-r-s-h-a-v-e didn’t catch on!
Looks like a wonderful evening with your friends, happy birthday Heidi!
The 11 ducklings that were born on Thursday at our dam, are pretty funny they look so cute chasing their mama on the water!
Last thing that made me laugh? The dog acting like a spaze when the four year came out from his bedroom this morning. They have a love, hate relationship. All love this morning though!
I love that you have girls nights, I have been craving one lately!
My five year old who told me about a little boy in her class. He told my daughter “I love you” and she said “Mom of course, I love him too”
YIKES!
Last thing that made me laugh? My 4-yr old cousin trying to look through the viewfinder on my camera. With his eye closed.
I love how your posts seem to continue forever. Right when I think it is done , I see more beautiful photos and words. Two Things: what brand are Nella’s shoes? & I would love to do Friday Photo Dump. Can I link back to you for originating idea?
Christina
Make Every Breath Count
I am 33 weeks pregnant and was recently picking up mexican carry out for lunch the other day and the lady helping me actually asked if I could feel when the baby was hungry. I laughed and told her no and she said again “so you really can’t feel her stomach growling?” she was so serious I had to laugh.
My 4 year old told me, “Mom, that’s a bald eagle, they are big birds that eat purse dogs, you know small dogs people carry in purses?”
Good to know, thanks for the laugh, Gabe!
Looks like a great party! Makes me want to throw together a shin dig at our house….just because!!!

Hmm… last thing that made me laugh… besides all the cynical things that make me laugh that don’t translate very well to ‘funny’ in writing, I’d have to say, watching old episodes of Friends with my husband last night on the couch. Damn, that question just made me realize I need to laugh more!
On another note, so glad that you have a village of woman around you, it is a rare and beautiful thing and it’s so great that you soak it up the way you do. Also, made me smile to see you and Nella rocking the nursing picture again, it’s wonderful that you guys are going strong. Hope you and your family have a fabulous weekend!
What a sweet way to celebrate your friend!! Love the pics of course!
That’s almost the exact face I get when I’m using my phone….:P
The last thing that made me laugh was my 2 year old son, Jack, squealing about the picture of the birthday cake on your blog and then making the ‘nom nom nom!’ noises as he leaned in to my computer screen and pretended to eat it!
LOVE the picture of Nella with the phone! …was just cracking up with girlfriends yesterday…your picture of canned pumpkin – I need some and can’t find any at our grocery stores, weird pumpkin shortage or something??
I have twin 10 month old girls…last night one of my little ladies had discovered her tongue…and stuck it out at me and then giggled away….as I started to laugh at this newest trick of hers I looked over at her twin sister who was watch the whole event….then she says her favorite word “wwwwWoWww”.
Cannt beat that kind of entertainment!
The last thing that made me laugh – really laugh – was my puppy licking the bajesus out of my hands as I tried to wrestle her into her harness to take her outside. Her sweet tongue “kisses” tickle my fingers and hands and I just can’t help but belt out laughter. 🙂
Happy weekend. Going to check out the song because I like your taste in music. You introduced me to the lovely Ingrid Michaelson.
oh- i was supposed to tell you the last thing that made me laugh!
My 3 year old son, as always. He’s playing pirates with foam swords on our master bed.
Little Nella’s braids are adorable!
Last thing that made me laugh was my little girl slapping her sleeping dad on the FOOT and shouting “Wake!!” to try to get him to wake up. Didn’t work.
The last thing that made me laugh would have to have been my 9 month old Hadley, can’t think of a better thing to laugh at/with!
How fun! I love the little soccer kleats. Even though I’m not even close to having children I still gush over kids’ shoes too, especially tiny TOMS. Also, that song by Rachel Platten was free on noisetrade.com and it puts me in a good mood too! Have a great weekend. 🙂
hahaha Sounds like something my husband would do except his word was B-R-A♥♥ LOL We sure do love them huh!!
My girls were oohing over your little girls and how cute they are. I could just dunk Nella in my coffee!
Brett’s comment cracked me up too!
Last laugh: My husband was telling us about the new guy at work and how he does some quirky things, like bringing in an electric skillet and making pancakes at his desk the other morning. My middle girl then asks, “Was he drunk?”. Oh we laughed!
Nella’s iPhone face.
in your party pics…where did you get your owl kitchen towels?? I need them. lol.
Laughed ’til I cried when my 5-year-old told us over dinner about the cupcake she had at school when a classmate was celebrating her bday…Apparently, she turned one down b/c the frosting was huge and too sweet, but happily accepted one from her little friend after he had already LICKED the frosting off of the top for her! Such nice sharing! ; )
My daughter is what makes me laugh on a daily basis 🙂 She is 5 and is really obsessed with making waffles (eggo’s) right now. We ran out of them yesterday and with every bit of seriousness, tells me this morning that “a day is just not right without a waffle!” Totally got a chuckle out of me for sure!! It’s the little things, like Eggo’s, that make life amazing 😀
Your comment about spelling out MATING made me laugh. We still spell things out around the kids, and they have been reading for years. We often get the eye-roll!
🙂
My daughter flips out when I take the phone away too. Complete tantrum!
Braided pigtails are one of my favorite things- ADORABLE! Last thing that made me laugh… “Thank you” notes on Jimmy Fallon.
The last time I REALLY laughed hmmmm….
When my boys beat me up with socker boppers that someone got them for their birthday. I was laughing so hard I literally could not get up off the ground.
Last laugh: poop! I got pooped on 2x today by two different kids. You gotta laugh in moments like these with two under two!
Megan
Something funny that happened to me recently was this…I have been trying to exercise more and eat better. Well, it had been a LONG time since I rode my bike last, so I decided to tackle it again. I packed my purse full of different things: Ipod, cell phone, keys, jacket, water bottle, and jar of peanuts (you never know). I headed out with my purse hanging from my handlebar. I was pedaling and all my muscles were screaming at me, while the people around me were laughing (I’m sure). I looked down at my bike and realized that my bike was in the 7th gear the whole time. No wonder it was so hard to petal. I went home and looked up the 411 on bike riding. Needless to say, it will be a while before I bike again. lol.
Love surprise parties.
Last thing that made me laugh was my child and her sheer overreaction to everything these days.
Telling my husband my kooky dream from last night that involved my grandma killing chickens and me saving whales… My brain scares me sometimes, but boy is that FUNNY!
last thing that made me laugh? Us sitting around the table talking about the 12 hour drive we had just finished.. throuhg 10 hours of enless, boring TX road. And how beutiful the New Mexico sign was 🙂
I love that picture of Lainey and the red ballon on the Friday photo dump!
Made me laugh: one of my three year old twins was on the toilet, and I was nursing the baby. He kept calling me to come in there so I could wipe him. I told him just hang on. Exasperated, he yelled at me, “Mom, are you going to come see my holy poop!?!” I still giggle when I think of it.
Yesterday, after delivering a beautiful baby boy the father called up his older son who is 5 and said “you finally have a brother!” (he has 3 sisters already) and the little boy screamed ” yesssss!!!” so loud that we could all hear, and then hung up the phone on his Dad 🙂 Made us all crack up laughing!
I’m addicted to scentsy. My favorite is the coconut lemongrass. My daughter has lenny the scentsy buddy so that scent goes everywhere with us. Keeps us feeling close to home even when we’re not. Have a great weekend!
Laughed with my sister last night, drank pumpkin pie cream martini’s….holy snikes good! Laughed because we asked my 5 year old to photograph us…..it’s of our legs..ha.
I got all teary eyed seeing your group of friends together celebrating a birthday. I think as a Mom you need those girls nights and obviously I must be overdue for one hence the tears…haha. Oh and Nella’s braids…love love love them. So sweet!
My daughter who is in third grade received a paper from school that said if she colored the paper on the back (a picture of a blue jay) and brought it to the High School football game friday that she would get in free along with two adults. She would ALSO get a free hot dog. It also had said that if she made a poster and got there before the game that she could go out onto the field and cheer the team as they come out. The girl was BEYOND excited. ALL.WEEK.LONG. Who knew that a free hot dog and a football game could be so exciting. But seeing her so excited was enough to make this mom VERY happy right along with her. And happy children is what makes me happy.
I turned around from making my older son his PB&J for lunch to find my 1 year old stuck between the arm of the sofa and the end table – one foot up on the table top. Peanut was doing his best to climb up. No tears until I pulled him back to safety, naturally.
I am going through the mounds of pictures from my elder daughter’s childhood in advance of her wedding on Oct. 9. I have laughed and cried LOTs over the memories. It is a humbling feeling when your whispered mother wishes come true — and they are grown, and smart, and funny, and beautiful, and happy, and marrying and forming a family of their own. I just wish I had asked for more time. Sometimes those insane, fun, frustrating, wonderful, trying times ofnher childhood seemed endless. It is almost shocking to realize they have ended. Peace to you. –j.
My last laugh was when my daughter took five of her bracelets and put them on my newborn baby boys toes. I think someone secretly wished for a sister!
sounds like a great day to me! Happy Weekend!
Momma to 3

one of the last things that made me lol for real was driving in the car with my best friend in town visiting and her interpretation of a line from a bon iver song that is really serious and beautiful being “chicken fingers”. and it totally sounds like chicken fingers. and i laugh every time. the real line is “jagged eyes”. bon iver is a genius and so is my friend. love your posts! happy fall and God bless!
Love it all – Happy Birthday to your dear sister friend. WELL, the VERY last thing to make me laugh? Just now reading how Brett spelled out the word MATING (very bad word, indeed!)> TOO FUNNY!! Like sometimes we SPELL or WHISPER and i am like “WHY are we doing that?!” Love your new FB page! Love from the Blog Mama~
I LOVE the Iphone face.
Also, I am addicted to scenting my house…hook a sister up!!!
Hugs from Chicago!!
It’s funny that I didn’t realize the pictures from the party were at your house until you said so. I figured out why. Most of the pictures you post are taken from ground level perspective. That’s what happens when you have kids I guess. LOL
Last thing that made me laugh was my daughter. She’s a funny little thing and some of the things that come out of her mouth are remarkably grown up. She’s 5.
Love the cleats and totally miss the days when my son’s were that little…sigh
As far as making me laugh, my son does it all the time. Last night he was on the computer. I came in, looked and said, “what’s that?” He replies, “It’s a music video. Something young people like to enjoy nowadays.”
The last thing to make me laugh was my toddler. He wanted me to get up this morning and I wanted to lay in bed some more. So he hands me my glasses, my medicine bottle, my cell phone, and my hair tie and says “Here! Up! Now!” I had to laugh.
last thing that made me laugh…my 7 year old got the baby up from her nap and when I asked him if he changed her diaper too he said “can’t you just be happy with what you have?” Ha ha! a chip off the old block:-)
Last thing that made me laugh is the last thing that made you laugh. Hilarious!! Before that, it was my one-year-old giggling at wearing three tutus, which she insisted on wearing.
Last night I discovered that even the suggestion of tickling my roommate Tiff would freak her out and cause her to laugh uncontrollably, which in turn made us laugh.
Would you PLEASE share the recipe for whatever the dip was your friend was dipping out of the white casserole dish, it looks amazing! What a fun time, wish I had been there!
I get to laugh everyday with my son and through my work. Yesterday a 3 yr old in my preschool was trying to sneak her toy animal into the bucket of sand we were using for ‘shake it bottles’. After I said “Sorry, tigers have to stay out of this sand” I got the best out of the corner of the eye death glare along with a eye roll. I laughed because she’s 3!
The last thing that made me laugh was my 2year trying to get my 8 weeks old to smile. He has studied me making funny sounds and making my face look crazy just to get a little corner grin out of him. It’s amusing to see a toddler do the same. Love my little boys 🙂
my week included libby canned pumpkin too. love your friend’s reaction. what a sweet gift to give her. lavished in love! have a great one girlie.
My 2 year old came to me with a tissue and asked me to blow his nose. It’s been snotty lately. He blew out a PINTO bean! That had been cooked in his nose! It was about to sprout! and we think it had been there for a week. I tried to be serious about telling him the dangers of putting things in your nose but I could barely contain my giggles!
Pretty please tell where you got Nella’s flower shoes! My girl is a month younger than Nella and obsessed with shoes.
Maura
One thing that recently made me laugh was my 3-year-old son. He was sitting at the coffee table, learning how to use his scissors. I was helping him by holding the paper so he could focus just on the scissors themselves, when I noticed that every time he’d open the scissors he would ALSO open his MOUTH as wide as he could get it. Then, when he closed the scissors his mouth would likewise snap shut. He did this with EVERY cut he made…it was hilarious!
My two year old son — who speaks like he was the valedictorian of Santa Elves’ Language Institute in Boston — darts around the house saying:
YOU’RE BLOWING MY MIND, MOMMY. YOU’RE BLOWING MY MIND.
That makes me laugh. Also, awesome party. I need to do that more, too.
i love your owl towels! where did you get them?
my two kittens make me laugh (out loud) a lot. they were just running and chasing and flopping all over each other, and it made me laugh.
Love that song! Where do you find all the great songs you have on your playlist?
i have been scrolling through pinterest, and the signs that people make for framing crack me up. btw, if i thought blog-hopping plus facebook plus angry birds made for a huge time-suck before…. i’ve been further sucked by pinterest.
Yay for N’s new words! “Please” will serve her especially well 😉 Such a cutie pie.
Last thing that made me laugh was a conversation with my 2year old daughter, Olivia. I ask her “whose girl she is?” in hopes of a reply of “Mommy’s girl,” however she always replies with those dreaded words of “Daddy’s girl.” Last time I asked, she replied with “Daddy’s girl” and then looks at me all serious & says “its okay Mommy, shake it off.” Always something with that girl.
HA! The s-p-e-l-l-i-n-g thing is such a strong habit here too…We spell things that so don’t need to be spelled…or do. except i-c-e-c-r-e-a-m and b-r-o-w-n-i-e-s … The girls what those spell! doh.
Today I laughed at my girl (almost 3) making up songs on the way home from the movie The Muppets Take Manhattan – playing in our local theater in honor of Jim Henson’s would-be 75th Birthday.
She is convinced that the songs she makes up were actually in the movie… funny bean.
The last thing to make me laugh: watching my husband try to “sneak one out” while on a walk with our 2 year old son, who promptly yelled, for all the neighbors to hear, “Daddy Tooted!!”
Kelle, has anyone asked where you got your shirt? It’s gorgeous.
Recent quote by my almost 4-year-old made me laugh: “Miles and I are pretending to be coyotes and howling. It’s called imagination. It hurts people’s ears.”
Gina

Just this afternoon my 3 yr old had a flashlight headband thingy on that is my husbands for camping- anyways she would look up and the light was shining on the ceiling so she kept craning her head to see the light but the light went back further the more she craned her head…FUNNIEST.THING.EVER! She seriously looked like a dog! ha ha ha
Trying to come up with the last time I laughed has proven to be harder than I thought. I think I need to laugh a little more. Today’s been trying and (as always) your blog lifts me up. I know I laughed at parts of “Moneyball.” I’m going to make it a point to laught today.
I’m pumped to start following you on FB! Oh, and getting a Scentsy warmer would be fab too. ;o)
Happy Weekend!!
Nella’s braids are so adorable and good luck with Soccer. I always loved when my boys started soccer. It is so cute watching them play.
The last thing to make me really laugh is my son’s “booty dance”…He is such a stinker.
where are the bunny pictures? Not that we wanted to see the m-a-t-i-n-g, but general hopping about is always fun!
LOL! Can’t stop laughing about the m-a-t-i-n-g. Mine was today my hubs and I drove past a really old antique type car that I guess was awesome. I said to him, “Ohhh sweet. Did you see that? He’s taking his dad for a drive.” (the passenger was a very elderly man whom I assumed was dad of the driver.) My hubs said, “What?” like I was crazy. And then, “Why would I look at the people.” HA! Men are from mars, right! 🙂
My daughter at her swimming class this morning!
I have seen that cake before at Lainey’s party what is that frosting? please please please share!!!!! please!
I always laugh when my son Theo(age 4) asks for a hungburger, not a hamburger but a hungburger, we corrected him once but then decided that we like hungburger better, it makes us happy to hear it and one day when he is 16 and asks for several hamburgers I am going to wish he still said hungburger!
Carissa
My last laugh was due to my 2 yr old. Whenever we read books together he acts so surprised at every page we turn. Brown Bear today was very entertaining!
last laugh for me was watching my girls today “ice skate” for the first time…..we live in TX so its synthetic ice. I hope to take them to a real rink someday soon!!!
Last thing that made me laugh was my dog trying desperately to find the chipmunk that ran and hid under our shed… he was so determined to get it!
The last thing that made me laugh? As I was finishing up my night shift at the hospital at 6:45 this morning, I was in a frenzy. Patients were all waking up, the day shift was coming on, and I was running around like crazy. I may have been a tad tired (or cranky may be more accurate), which explains the following uncensored, blatant response when the day shift kindly asked how I was: “I want to punch somebody.”
There was a moment of silence, and then we all laughed…because we all know you can’t keep your sweet attitude 100% of the time. And especially not after a 12-hour shift.
Love your blog, Kelle. Please keep writing.
I’ve had several things that made me laugh today. The last thing I can remember is our cat attacking my dad. He had come over to get my boys for a little Pop Pop time. He sat down on our couch and our cat literally starting attacking him. He was only playing, but he just kept going after my dad. It was a little funny….ok, a lot funny.
1. I feel like I was there.At the par-tay.
2. I loove the owl towels.
3. Nella’s little red shoes are yummy sweet 🙂
The last thing that really made me laugh was this morning when my 3-year old was laying on the couch and she asked me, “Could you please turn on the TV so I don’t have to use my powers”. Apparently, she has now has magical powers. Who knew!
Oooh, last thing to make me laugh! My husband (who recently had a minor bike crashing accident on his way home from work and is now all leg-wrapped and limping) and I (who am 8 months pregnant) sitting on the floor attempting to get each others shoes and socks on so we could leave the house. Priceless.
last thing that made me laugh:
packing up my mother’s house and getting ready to say goodbye to her and that we will see her a week after her first grandbaby, our first baby, will be born and she has her hands on my tummy, baby girl Eden kicks her and my mother says, ” OH! she just kicked me with her PAW!” hahaha! needless to say we all lost it! 🙂
We were putting corn stalks up on the fence out front today and my son asked me to help him dig a hole. Why? So he could plant the ear of corn that fell off the stalk in the car. So we did. We dug a hole in the mulch and propped it up out front. He was so proud.
Happy Birthday to your friend! There’s no one like a loyal and loving girl friend!! We all need each other 😀
I L.O.V.E that Brett calls you Dude!
The last thing that made me laugh was what my 8 year old had to say while doing her math homework. “I hate subtraction. I wish I could scribble it out of the world forever!”
The last thing that made me laugh? My two year saying “shake shake shake” and dancing her little heart out. She is for sure my little dancing queen.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture of Nella on your stoop…time for another fundraiser! Thank you for sharing your energy and your family. Happy Birthday Heidi!
Love your blog. Thanks for sharing it with us.
love your post!! Nella’s braids are awesome!!
This afternoon … Still laughing. My just about 3 year old yells out in Trader Joes “Look Daddy!” (insert dramatic pause). “A bruja!”. We look and a woman dressed in dark clothes with a big dark hat is hunched over her shopping cart …. So glad he used the Spanish and didn’t yell out “a witch!!”. 🙂
hehehe, so my 2 1/2 year old is potty training and was sporting some new “cupcake” big girl undies yesterday. We took a trip into town to the grocery store while big brother was at preschool. She’s steering away in the grocery cart car and all of a sudden gets out and starts fidgeting and wiggling and in a rather loud and frantic voice says, “My cupcakes are stuck in my bum! My cupcakes are stuck in my bum MOM!” hahahaha, welcome to big girl undies and your first wedgie 🙂
my daughter, telling my midwife: “I can’t wait for Mommy’s baby to come out of her butt!”
Loved this post. What a great friend you are <3
it was tonight while checking on my girlies and finding one of them perched on the bookcase ready to fling herself off. upon seeing me it was “ut uh – how did i get up here?”
i know you should not laugh in those moments, but it was too much. really? how did you get up there? cutie pie.
The last thing that made me laugh? Probably my son’s new crinkle-nose smile (he’s almost 7 months old!). Last thing that made me laugh and call Daddy to tell him about it and he posted on Facebook? When I told my daugher it’s fall and it’s almost Halloweentime and she responded, “That means it’s time for the apples to turn into pumpkins!” Apparently pumpkins are very large, very ripe apples that only appear around Halloween? She’s three. 🙂
-Lela
The last thing that made me laugh: Me: “Kaitlyn, did you go poopoo in your undies?”
Kaitlyn: “No, Mommy, did you go poopoo in your undies?”
Touche.
Just got home from spending the day with my family on my birthday. It was a great day (I didn’t have to cook!) with lots of laughs with my kids and with the rest of the family.
I too love fall – the colors, activities, and smells!
I love the combination of the warm florida weather and the sweet autumn colors and feel. Your pictures are beautiful.
today’s 6 year old soccer game….oh the laughs…
Today having breakfast with my granddaughters. When I hugged them goodbye one of them said, Goodbye Mommy.”
Love
Nella’s little braids. In the one picture she looked just like Lainey.
Last thing that made me laugh was tickling my boys during commercials in Finding Nemo 🙂 I love their laughs — and the way they think they can gang up on me and tickle me back!
Mabel rocked pigtails tonight for the first time…[and I think she might be saying mama!!!–EEK!] Happy Weekend, friend.
Me,my daughter and our exchange student from Germany were leaving the smoothie place when the singer from the restaurant next door started calling to us and wanted a song request. He jammed pretty hard to “Moves Like Jagger” for about ten minutes, but what made us laugh was one of the girls sitting at the restaurant who we noticed as he was jamming right in front of her. She had chopsticks up her nose and was plugging her ears. We all looked at each other and died laughing. It’s funny in any language!
My 19 month old saying “uh oh” when our dog slipped when running on the hardwood floor 🙂
Ok just caught up on your last post and it hit me, why so many of us are fans of you and your blog. Your glass is half full, but it’s also damn honest. And between our own high expectations and plenty of Mother’s guilt, you remind us to slow down, appreciate, and realize no one is perfect, no matter how it looks from the outside. Thanks for helping me enjoy motherhood more!
Oh and the last thing to make me laugh was the “mustaches” we drew on our fingers last night…my 3 and 5 year olds rocked some serious attitude while posing with their finger ‘staches for some pics. So fun.
lol! that Brett spelled out mating. Thanks for the laugh!!!
Jenny Mom
Oh I forgot what really made me laugh this week, Rob came with me to my 1st zumba class! He was the only guy in a room of 50 women, but that didn’t stop him bustin’ moves and wiggling his hips, he looked so funny I nearly wet myself! It certainly made it hard to do the class properly!
The last thing that made me laugh was when I was spending some time with close friends…I’m not even sure what we were laughing about, but I know laughter was in abundance.
My 6 yr old boy came downstairs for breakfast this morning still in his pjs. “Mom, I just came on down ’cause I know we want to get started with school right away, and it takes me a while to get my clothes on. I can just do school in my pjs. That way I won’t waste any time getting dressed.”
Of course, he had just spent a good 15 minutes getting his car mat out and playing with cars and tractors! But I’m sure he didn’t see that as wasting time! 😉
My two and a half year old son was looking thru a book the other day and there was a picture of a little orange goldfish and he screams, “I FOUND NEMO!!!” I literally could not stop laughing over it, he was so serious, LOL!
Love the surprise party pics…girls nights in are the best!
At a birthday party, watching my two year old take an uneaten cupcake from another girl’s plate and eat it. Yeah, I know I’m not supposed to find that funny!
a scene in an episode of wallace & gromit just made me laugh…my three-year old son watches it obsessively…
My 3 year old wanted to show me his nice soft smile! I said, “I see your smile…I love it!” He was holding an open red marker at the time…then he drew a smile right on his face in red marker…right under his smile…I couldn’t help but laugh!
Driving home from sushi and one of my 2 1/2 year olds is rocking out to Bieber from my Glee soundtrack. Baby baby baby baby ohhhhhh……
I went out for dinner tonight and embraced my inner child when friends started catapulting tater tots at friends on the other side of our booth. There was much laughter. 🙂
The picture of Nella with your phone is adorable! Do you have an iPad or iPhone? The boy I nanny (also with DS) has an iPad with multiple special needs appropriate apps recommended by the OT. It seemed unconventional at first, but he has shown growth since he first started using it.
I think I’ll find my laughter when I get some sleep. 🙂 Newborn twins tend to rob you of sleep. 🙂
Esther Dush
What a fun post! Nella’s braids~ so cute, she’s growing so fast!! Your owl kitchen towels~ LOVE, where did you get them? and last thing that made me laugh~ at a family birthday party, my 4 yr old had my camera and was so proud of the pictures he was taking. He kept looking through the view finder, clicking, then exclaiming “look mom, a flower!”, “look mom, his ear!!” He was so proud of each picture he took 🙂
I love when you put pictures of your dogs! They are adorable, although not nearly as adorable as those girls of yours!
Laughter – my tiny boy, almost two, playing with the neighbour’s cat in our yard, making angry noises when it stalked away from him. Too funny!
I just woke up to a hilarious but nerdy joke, thanks to my boyfriend (the nerd in question): So an Einstein enthusiast bar tender puts up a sign that says, “No Neutrino that moves faster than the speed of light allowed.” So a Neutrino walks into the bar.
So lame, but so good.
On 5th of September I saw a first step of my son. And tomorrow was a second, and a third, and a thirty-th step! He liked it so much! I hope laugh with tears counts to your question :’).
This week I had done something and it went wrong ( I can’t even remember what now) and my husband interjects with… “That was an epic fail… have you heard of that before? An epic fail?” lol Oh the things my husband learns coaching college cheerleading. (He also comes home excited to share the latest “it” song thinking he’s up on the latest and greatest…)
After having a “mini-fight” with my husband, we made up when I leaned over and tickled him riiiiight in his sweet spot. His laugh makes me laugh…every time. 🙂
I love seeing circles of friends…I am so blessed to have mine 🙂
Last thing to make me laugh – a that’s what she said joke not worthy of posting here but I always manage to say something that you can spin to be dirty. Hmmmm
Happy Weekend (mine is filled with Halloween decor-YAY)
~CC
Last night I did a lot of laughing…out with friends to celebrate my birthday.
I love it, Fall freak flag, mine is flying high over here on the East coast in this 90 degree weather too.
P.S~ I hope your working on some book signings when that bad boy comes out, because I’m driving over for a signed copy, Congrads!
The last thing that made me laugh was the scene with my one-year-old earlier today. Her daddy doing everything possible to get her to say “yes” which sounds way more like “yeshshshshshsh”…an adorable lisp and a huge emphasis on the “Sss” part.
I teach special education and went to a walk yesterday for one of the coolest little dudes with a terrible awful disease, Sanfilippo Syndrome. His dad was greeting everyone and getting a little emotional with the older brother of the honoree asked “Dad, did you toot?” Haha!
My little girl, two weeks older than Nella, has taken to lowering her angry eyes at me and mumbling in a low, growl-y tone. It makes me giggle like a school girl every time!
Great song suggestion! The last thing that made me laugh was my daughter helping all her stuffed animals blow their noses. I guess when she has a cold, everyone gets to “suffer” with her!
The Office! My husband and I finally got to watch the first episode of the season last night. I love fall TV!! We finally get to cuddle up in hoodies on the weekend nights to catch up on our fav shows.
The last thing that made me laugh was my two year old nephew yesterday. He turned two and we had a party and he giggles infectiously when one tickles him. It was a good laugh.
My 7 year old daughter had me in stitches when I overheard her explaining the difference’s in bugs to my almost 3 year old son. She said ‘You know, Mosquito’s. The more muscular ones?’!!! Bahahahahaha! Awesome.
The last thoing that made me laugh was my daughter when we were leaving to go run some errands said bye daddy I love you.. don’t worry well come back!
I really want try scentsy but hubby says no until I find a new job.
I just figured out that my one-year-old-next-week says UCK instead of CUP. Boy was I glad thats what she meant!!!! :o)
Last thing to make me laugh- my little one. His newest “trick” is to turn the tv off. He does it then crawls away as fast as he can b/c he KNOWS he is not supposed to. Lil stinker.
Last thing to make me laugh- my little one. His newest “trick” is to turn the tv off. He does it then crawls away as fast as he can b/c he KNOWS he is not supposed to. Lil stinker.
Last thing to make me laugh- my little one. His newest “trick” is to turn the tv off. He does it then crawls away as fast as he can b/c he KNOWS he is not supposed to. Lil stinker.
The last great laugh I had was during a great skype date with my mother and sister yesterday – my sister lives in kenya and my mom is there visiting. The best laughs are those inside jokes shared with my family. 😉
Technically, the last thing that made me laugh was Brett’s comment. But before that, my son, “helping” fold laundry, stuck a cloth diaper cover on his head and gave me his big, cheesy, eyes-shut, all-teeth-showing grin. He knows exactly how funny he is!
ahhh I love soccer for that very same reason–tiny tiny cleats, shin guards and socks. Melts my heart! Last thing that made me laugh…My 4-year-old got out of his car seat and said, “mommy, wait RIGHT there, I want to help you get out of the car….”I started to giggle at how sweet of a gesture it was. He then said, “Mommy I’m being nice, NOT funny.” Well that made me laugh even more. love that sweet little tiny face of mine!
well it made me laugh and cry at the same time. My 2 y/o explaing to me what she wants her wedding to be like. She then says, “mama, will u be at my wedding?!”
Last thing to make me laugh, my husband putting my daughter between cushions so she could be the “samwhich”
That picture of Nella sitting on the step is sooo adorable! She looks so proud of herself. 🙂
Hmm, last thing to make me laugh…I love my father in law but he’s a grump. We went camping this weekend and FIL was along. On the way home, we did harmless impressions of his grumpiness. Had us in tears on the long drive home!
We had visitors this weekend and we laughed at random things well into the night. I can’t remember anything specific, but it was so much fun :0)
– jen
I love the shirt you are wearing at the party. Where is it from? Seems perfect for fall.
The last thing that made me laugh was my 3 1/2 year old daughter loudly announcing in the Target bathroom, “Mommy, I see a crack on your bottom.”
I definitely misread that clock, and thought that you said that the party went until 6 a.m. Haha…thought you’d get a laugh out of that one! 🙂
The party looked like fun! The last thing I laughed at was Lainey’s face in the picture from the phone dump. Kid’s can be hilarious when they’re just having fun!
Ok I love your blog! I don’t always leave comments, But I have a funny one for you today.. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law threw a great octoberfest party, The husbands comment when the party was over… “you were a great hostesses until 7pm… Then you were hammered” You know it was a good party when the hostesses has fun!
Thanks for all of your great posts!
The cleats are so cute. I love soccer. So far my oldest does cheer leading but I am holding out hope for my youngest. I love soccer and played all the way through college.
I laughed at something my husband said…can’t remember exactly what, but he often makes me laugh. 🙂
Awesome post as usual–having girls night’s are the best!
Last thing that made me laugh: This morning at church I walked in to find very close friends of mine from across the country walking in. I was so surprised and happy! One thing led to another, and they came for lunch, spent the day and are going to spend the night as well. I’ve been laughing and having a great time all day. I love spending time with people I grew up with! 🙂
The look on my husband’s face when my friend’s baby (whom I was holding) projectile spit up (vomited?) all over the front of his shirt…I was in tears 😛
I love am in love with Scentsy! Have you tried the Marshmallow Pumpkin? I adore the Halloween Warmer! LOve Fall!
The last thing that made me laugh? My 2 year old trying to ride the chihuahua like a pony. Poor dog.
adorable! love her little braids 🙂
the last thing that made me laugh was my god daughter. We were eating out and right then and there she had to show me her new crap walk in the restaurant. Very cute!
Love the braids… love the pic of Nella in front of the house.
The last think that made me laugh was my son telling his action figures that First grade is not easy it’s a lot of work… and if you get the other first grade teacher she yells all day.. and says get to work rug rats! ( which incedently this other teacher is a friend of mine, and she does NOT yell… and never says Rugrats.. LOL)
The last time I laughed was having my God-daughter decide she needed to show me her new crap walk move in the middle of the restaurant while we where eating.
my God-daughter doing her new crab walk! soooo funny!
my girls and I try to get together every other week Sometimes it’s a trip to Target – other times it’s a bowl of soup at my house. But it’s always fun and necessary.
My nearly 2-year old boy tonight was taking his temperature as I dried him off after his bath. “Wakefield, what’s your temperature?” I asked. “TWENTY SIX!!!!” was his reply. Call the doctor – we got a very sick boy on our hands! I laughed and laughed. Love the things that come outta that kids mouth!
My 6 year old niece has these k’nex things, and when my sister in law and I walked in the house from shopping this afternoon, she had made an “alien” body with them, as tall as she was, and jumped out at us yelling “I come in peace! Take me to your leader!” I died.
My husband eating a large amount of cheese spread (to go with crackers), and then justifying it by saying he was testing it to ensure it was safe and tasty. He was pleased to announce that it passed on both levels 😛
My 2-year-old daughter ran out of her room with her pullup down over her rump proclaiming, “I did it myself.” Soccer cleats go with everything…just ask my 4-year-old son. Same goes for cowboy boots.
Your husband’s comment just made me laugh out loud!! Love it!
7 hour car ride today with my mom. Sometimes the most mundane times get the best laughs.
Ashley
Happy Birthday, Heidi!
Brett’s quote is hilarious. Last thing that made me laugh: right before my kids went to bed, Ruby and Margot wore sunglasses and nothing else and screeched wildly around our home. They were in such a sister zone. Loved it.
Aww, I wanna see pics of the bunny convention. 🙂 Nella’s hair in braids is too cute. The last thing that made me laugh was seeing my 17-month-old daughter at an art festival today dancing and clapping for the live bands. Even while we were roaming the art booths, no matter how far away from the stage we were, whenever she heard a song end she would fitfully clap. It was adorable. ^_^
what is it with phones & babies?! my son can spot a cell phone a mile away!
little B just made me laugh, grabbing a book, quickly flipping through the pages, and moving on to the next book as fast as he can.
My little guy Harrison loves to grab my phone too. Thankfully he can’t turn it on. But we always get a laugh when he holds the phone up to his ear and cocks his head to the side and starts having an imaginary conversation that consists of laughs. He is a hoot!!
P.s. I am long overdue to have a scenty in my home 😉
Jstar1031 at yahoo dot com
I’m laughing literally as I read this, listening to my landlord singing some made-up song along with his 6-year old daughter upstairs… I wish you could hear it! It’s hilariously sweet. 🙂
Love the Fall decor! Laughed today as I was in the transition area waiting for my teammate. We were cheering on the other athletes and one Ironman’s shirt had “BEEF” plastered across the front. Not sure what that was about but found it very funny at the moment he got off his bike and headed out for his run.
I Love Nella’s phone face 🙂 And where are the bunny convention photos?!
Last thing(s) to make me laugh: every joke that Stephen Colbert makes (I just watched all of last week’s episodes). Love that man. And love your blog!
http://www.existation.com
I caught my son starting to lick water out of the dog bowl. I yelled NO!! He replied, Well Mom! My lips almost fell in! OMG…
The last time I laughed outloud…. My 4 year old came in yesterday and with thistles and briars in his shorts and said “Quick, Mom, help, my pants are all spiked up!”
The last thing that made me laugh was watching my 5 year old walk off to school this morning, sporting a purple-texta-decorated face… he redecorated yesterday and we couldn’t get it off!
Ohhhh boy. The last time I laughed was last night. At myself. One margarita too many! On a Sunday night? It was a looooong week. 🙂
Last night we were at the in laws for chili dinner. My 18 month old son apparantly knows how to play wrestle. He spent a good 25 minutes body slamming & steam rolling my 6 year old twin nephews. They were all giggling the whole time. And I was in tears I was laughing so hard. Where he learned this I have no idea since all I do is kiss, hug and snuggle with him. Dad doesn’t even play quite like that. Must be some deep ingrained boy thing.
At 3 mo, my daughter just started laughing. The more she laughed last night, the more I laughed!
I’m officially inspired to get fall decor rocking in my home.
I love getting introduced to good music – thanks for the link!
Loving the cleats. How adorable is that?! I think pee-wee soccer might be in our future for the sole fact that I need to purchase a pair.
The last laugh around here? About twenty seconds ago when Aristotle (5 month old cranky baby boy) got himself “stuck” under a blanket in the swing. Cue freakout and delighted laughter upon rescue. 🙂
Love following your blog…The last thing I laughed at was you just telling the bunny story!!! Hilarious!!!
yesterday, my 6-year-old made me laugh when she was stalling before bedtime. she scooted on her bottom all the way down the hallway to brush her teeth and then scooted all the way back to the living room to tell me she was ready to be tucked in… because it takes longer than walking. I love that kid.
Last night my one year old was standing behind me while I was sitting on the floor and he lifted up my shirt and tickled me for the first time with his cold little soft touch. I was totally shocked and jumped which made Daddy and him laugh like crazy. So then he kept doing it! So much fun. 🙂
Love Nella with the phone!
I can totally picture Brett saying that 🙂 That did have me laughing, but it was reading some of the auto corrects that phones are infamous for doing that really gets me crying 🙂
last prominant thing that made me laugh, b/c i seem to laugh at my 3.5 yr old all the time these days. As i was getting dressed she came in and said promptly, “mommy, i can’t wait til i have big boobies so i can make ’em jiggle.” 🙂
Nella’s little braids make my heart swell. 🙂
shoving cake in my new husbands face at the football game this weekend. We didn’t do the traditional cake cutting at the wedding Friday, so we did it at tailgating. Since he got me better, then I got him, I just laid one big sloppy kiss on him, staining his nose, up his nose, and all around his mouth blue. He was such a good sport!!!
I just love all of your great post, you just have a way with words that just pulls me right in. i have to say that I deffnatly love me some late nights with the besties! I have a 10 month old that is in love with my phone as well. but she trys to eat it not so much to play. love your blog, and your too cute little family!!

I’m in love with Nella’s braids and her adorable smile. She’s getting so big!
Something that made me laugh lately: Even though Chloe is still learning to talk these days, she sees no reason why she can’t still “talk back” to her mama. If I tell her she needs to go clean something up or tell her that something she did wasn’t nice — she will now look me straight in the eyes, put her hands on her sides, and go “wa wa waaaaa!”. She follows it up with a nice stormy walk off.
Guess that’s her way of telling me that I’m too bossy. 😉 It’s so cute though, I can’t help but turn my head and laugh!
Even better laugh: I took Chloe to this place in our town called “Pretend City”. It’s basically a giant pretend play place for kiddos — it’s Awesome, with a capital “A”!
Anyway — we’re in this “pretend” life-size house and Chloe wants to check out the bathroom. She decides getting in the tub sounds amazing…so she climbs right in.
Then out of nowhere — this little girl comes in the room and starts saying “excuse me” and dusting all around her. She dusts the “pretend” walls, the pretend toilet…the pretend sink. And then she turns to me and says in the most loud voice, “Being a mom is a lot of work! I clean the house ALL.DAY.LONGGG — just to read a book!”.
I was videoed the whole thing (because I was videoing Chloe in all her cuteness in the tub). I burst into laughter! I couldn’t help it.
Seriously, can you imagine if her mom had heard? She would have been mortified! Hilarious!!!
Last thing that made me laugh…..and makes me laugh EVERY time, is the face that Nora makes that says, “What choo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?”
And that SONG!!! Oh my gosh, Kelle….that song is soooo YOU, which makes me love, love, love it too 🙂
You are sweet to your friend, and she to you, I’m sure 🙂
Blessings,
Kelly
I love girls’ nights out (or in), too. Happy belated birthday to Heidi 🙂
…. just stopping by again, enjoying the happy moods once more!
I hope you take a moment to give yourself cred for being a glorious friend?!
It’s a thoughtful thin, what you did!
Last night at supper my 5 year old asks…”Did you take a picture of this meal mom?” I busted up laughing b/c several nights a week I photgraph our food. LOL
well besides your husband’s comment about the bunnies the last thing that made me laugh was my 3 year old son. We are in the midst of potty training. And being like any boy bathroom humor is always around. He farted today and said “I farted in my underwears. It feels good to fart in my underwears.” I had to walk out of the room to laugh, I don’t like to encourage the farting humor!
Your party looks so fun, I’ve been looking for a reason to get the girls together and I think a fall cookie decorating party will be JUST the perfect thing!
Husbands are great for a good laugh. My husband always knows just what to do to get a smile on our face. It usually involves bellies and them being blown on.
Love this!!!
2 hours ago I was at Burger King with my kids. They were playing in the play gym. My almost 4 year old came out of the slide dragging another kid- who i have no idea who it was- to “time out” because he was yelling “stupid!” in the play area and “it’s a very very so so bad word, mom”. I was laughing and mortified all at the same time. 🙂
Laugh with me: I called my husband “honey”..2 year old thinks it’s funny and is daddy getting honey. “no,” we tell her (he’s cutting strawberries). i explain i called him “honey” because he’s sweet. She matter-of-factly tells him. “daddy, you not sweet, you gwumpy. mama, daddy’s not sweet, you sweet. daddy’s gwumpy.” Laughter ensues 🙂 [I guess I should add she is somewhat on a a snow white kick at the moment.]
I can’t wait to see the pictures you get of soccer. I have two soccer players and the little one eager to start. One of my favorite days was the day I took my muddy, very tough soccer player and in less than an hour we transformed her into a beautiful ballerina for recital, bun and all.
P.S. I still look through the window at dance every chance I get.
lOVE IT! MAKES ME WANT TO HAVE A PARTY FOR SOMEONE NOW!
The last thing that made me laugh actually was your note about the mating bunnies – haha so funny! Great giveaway, thanks!
My 2-year-old, in an attempt to make her 6-month-old brother laugh, twirled until she was dizzy and then collapsed (carefully) into a pile of gray tulle.

My 7 month old daughter makes me laugh every day with her laughter and silliness. She is being spoiled rotten while her daddy’s in Afghanistan and I can’t get enough of her.
My 3 yr. old son was the last person to make me laugh… pointing to the ground in the living room and saying, “Mommy I peed there.”
Only to learn it was a joke to freak me out. I must say, I probably deserved it. He has inherited my sense of humor I share with my Mother. I remember when I first moved out, I would call her randomly and tell her I broke my leg… I was so mean!
Your girls just get cuter and cuter!
Last thing to make me laugh was my daughter at breakfast this morning who shouted, “Oh no! It’s OVERFLOATING!” when her milk was spilling over 😉
Last thing that made me laugh…my husband trying to get our 2 year old to tell him that he loved him. And he kept answering with “I love you, Mama.” Score for me!!

That would have to be my 3 year old. Running around wearing only goggles, chasing the dog with a butterfly catcher. When I told him not to chase the poor dog, he replied “But mom, she’s my best friend!”
Oh my heavens…Rachel Platten makes me happy, happy too! Heart her. Thanks!
Last thing to make me laugh out loud? A funny cartoon that my sister-in-law sent me. She knows my sense of humour and always sends me the funniest jokes. Great way to start the day – coffee and laughter!
Kelle,
I love reading your blog and while it always makes me smile when i was reading this post i actually felt my heart getting lighter as i laughed at seeing the puppy Nella kiss. After a rough day at work i couldn’t get out of my grump funk, that heavy heart wouldn’t leave me no matter what i tried to find to lighten me up. Well your wee one did it for me and i can’t thank you enough!
What a wonderful surprise for a friend! love it.
Last thing that made me laugh? Watching my 15 month old freak out at a “Bad to the Bone” Halloween dog with shaking ears. A little bit frightened, a little intrigued, a lot in love with that dog. It was a good trip to the craft store.
The last thing that made me laugh… we are teaching our son, Ethan, our address and city. He is almost 3 years, 9 months. Our street number is 5669, and I was repeating it for him and said “five-six” and he said “seven” and burst into a fit of giggles every time I tried to rattle off the entire 5669. I love him so much!!
